I bought an ecotric Hammer bike and it was the best investment I ever made. I have one leg I don't have any vehicle but the bike and it saved my life. It doesn't come with a nice light and all that stuff so it was $1,400. After I put lights and bought an extra battery and all the stuff I needed I have about $2,000 into it. I never thought I could afford one but it's more like I had to afford one or get a wheelchair

Look for a used $100-$200 decent 21 speed bike or 7 speed cruiser bike, and then order a $250 ebike kit. 750w kit means continuous 750, 1100 peak. I can go 33 mph on my 26" wheels because they're 2 inch road tires instead of 4 inch fat tires. A thinner rim and tire goes faster than fat tires. Some kits have the option to add a battery for $200-$400. I got a nearly 1kw battery with a luggage rack for $400 on Ali Express. Lots of DIY hub motor wheel kits out there. They install onto the donor bike in a few hours.

you might look on the used market: lots of people buy things they find they don't use, or they upgrade. you might find a good used rad rover or sondors or something. if you're going to go used though, don't buy the cheap chinese crap on CL or whatever.... go for a reputable ebike that you can get parts for.

@@budwhite9781 I have a Hyper Scorpion and 33 on flat ground is with full battery only. If you continue to push for that speed it with quickly diminish to 32, 31,30 and then settle on 28-29mph. If you go below 50v Race mode fades. Also the bike is heavy so shooting of the line after 50v is not going to happen. In fact getting off the line without peddle assistance is not advised with this bike. The front fork is clunky and noisy when encountering an unexpected bump or series of bumps. Fork is best ridding on even terrain. Seating is comfortable. Gearing cassette is superb with ratio’s perfectly matched to power levels. Power level outputs are perfectly sync’d to road demands. Bike needs two batteries (25 miles average) will have to buy another for extended rides. You can get 30-35 but the bike was not ment to ride like that. Rear suspension arms are excellent and shocks well suited for the ride this bike is ment for. It’s a sweet ride, solid and secure and performs (loud) but exceptionally well. My god what a beautiful bike!.A great bike that comes with issues. Brakes are dangerous. With proper upgrades (what ever the investment) it will be worth it. Your going to have to finish this dream. Tora woke up early.

Have 160 mi. on mine. Treaded Innova tires arriving today. Those sicky street tires are like slicks if you brake on dirt or sand. As far as top speed, how often are you going to go 30 mph? Bad roads, sidewalks make speed around 20 seem just fine. I like to use the pedals as a throttle and find most of time I'm riding in 2 or 3 on the display. Have never taken it out of 8th. gear. I call it "The Bomber " and might paint the fenders WW2 camo. I trade off between this and a Cross Currant S2 which is cool too. Good machine. Micha knows his stuff.

First, I own the hyperscorpion. (Silver very happy w color choice) upgrades I've done include: med baggers, phone bag (between the legs under the seat don't use it for phone glove compartment) then I installed the 1000w motorcycle stereo from gohawk (about 200$) The stereo itself is awesome but it does come with four speakers I'm only able to mount 2 in the front because I'm not able to contact the manufacturer. (even after all these years still can't get contact.) It's a slight disappointment because I wanted louder sound really and I'm not done with it but I may uninstall it. Don't get me wrong I'm not going to throw it away or nothing I will just use it with my trailer kit that I'm still working on and will be for quite some time apparently. :) (t
hink light camper) I also installed 2x cheap (10$) huffy cup holders (from Walmart one for a drink one for trash as I smoke/drink a lot and I do not like to litter ) then I did the windshield which was great until I crashed it and it got scratched so I took it off. (Kind of a waste of 70 bucks but I like having the equipment that came with it for other installs down the road maybe) in retrospect I would have got the smaller windshield were I could do it again. (Basically I got the chips patrol size) I also upgraded the tires to shinko's and will never go back no regrets there The bike should have came with knobbies in the first place in my opinion. (It was too dangerous at the speeds I travel.) Just a little advice to anybody that might be new to the game do the tires first. The bike took no damage (other than the scrapes on either or hand grips) and I have had at least four dumps... I can't emphasize that enough since the last one I must have been doing about 30 and dislocated my shoulder. (Yay lol... Recommend motorsport com) it's a cheap enough upgrade and I would have done it sooner were I not handicapped already, but it is quite a bit of work to remove the back tire and that has been my biggest struggle. (So I would recommend also getting a sufficient jack what should I still need to do) and then I put a wooden beer case box (bud) on the back as a trunk. (65$) I spent about $20 on additional hardware (2x lock/key and sealed it w eurothane) amazingly it has taken very little damage in all my crashes. :) (Just a couple scrapes easily fixed) Right now I'm waiting for my new battery. (Should be here Monday) I didn't need it really but I want to be able to go far
ther again) it can still clock 20 plus miles per charge without pedaling after 2.5-3 yrs and around 2k mi... Juice had 20% off sale I think they still do so I got the updated battery, Apple air tag, pump, and the phone holder. Found out after I got it the Apple air tag only will work if you have an apple (which I do not use). The pump is great almost too good... And the phone holder which I was really intimidated by and plan to install later today is also awesome. The reason I was intimidated by is because it comes with so many wires... It took me a couple days of looking at it several times till I realized one of the wire setups is only needed on other bikes and this is made exactly for my bike The scorpion. It allows you to plug in where the USB is plugged in and split into two so you'll retain your original USB charging on the handlebars and you'll still have the phone and charger separately which I really like. (Even though in all honesty I have yet to use the USB charger I'm going to be believe me. I dream about photography all the time and that's why I just got my first real drone. (DJI mini 3) it's very small and easily fits into my trunk... As far as the trunk goes I wanted to point out that the stereo requires a 12 volt system so all this time I've been running around with a 12 volt 12 amp motorcycle battery in the trunk. (One of the reasons I wanted to get rid of the stereo or replace it with something else) there's a lot of storage in there and I like that I just didn't like the extra weight if I was going to do it I'd rather have a second battery. Which brings me to my final point which is... I thought that this bike would be developed more and they would make more accessories for it. (I figured he would come out with a rack for the back that could hold an additional one or two batteries... But no such luck. Seems like instead Tora dropped the whole project and just moved on to the next... (Kind of sad really because there's nothing in this class ((around 30 mph)) that I consider even close to this bike which I really consider an electric moped.) Right now they have this bike on close out because of an issue over the name or something... At the current 1900 bucks I definitely recommend it. Oh yeah there is only one other thing I can really complain about lol... It's kind of annoying to have to turn off the blinkers. (You would think it could do that itself automatically but naw) anyways good luck and I hope this might have helped anybody out there with some questions and I'd be happy to answer any more. Thanx

My brushed aluminum arrived 3 weeks ago Power is amazing. Gear Eco 1-2-3/Sport/Race motor (ratios to power) out put is spec’d spot on-across all levels. Not only that though the cassette gearing is perfectly matched to sync with the motor. No hamsters here! If you use the whole system properly you can get 30-35 miles. Remember you must not go below 20% on the battery. If you ride like a snail more but you won’t do that. It’s impossible with a bike this fun. Now ride with fun and ease with occasional blow out show off and 20-25 miles. Rip it with hills and 15-20. As to the bad...the brakes suck eggs and the front fork needs upgrade as well. The bike is worth the investment. Finally as to weight for me love it solid on the road and going over the local 2 mile bridge no wind problems-steady.

People need to slow down naturally and not try to rely on brakes to stop them in such a short distance. I have a bike converted with 750w motor and a 960ah battery. Rim brakes and I can stop easily with them. Even with that big battery and the front hub motor, the whole bike is less than 50 pounds. I can imagine a weighty moped such as the Hyper Scorpion needs more in the way of braking power.

There are idiots in cars pushing their brakes to the limit and wipes there it is! Gotta have good brakes even for those jerks who put glass on the bike path. I plan to go with Magura E-Stops. Haven’t decided on the fork yet if you got suggestion please send.

I put a 29L GIVI top case on mine to increase the utility of the Scorpion; love the quality/components of the Scorpion. I am coming to this ebike from motorcycles, so I appreciate the suspension on this Scorpion; it works and makes the ride comfortable. I also added the raised seat platform, phone holder and HeadBanger Headlight Speaker. All quality items that increase the utility/fun of the Scorpion.
This is easily an option to the Vespa ELETTRICA 45 but is priced about $4.5K less! The Scorpion may weigh 102 lbs but the Vespa weighs 287 lbs. They have similar top speed and range in all electric mode; if you pedal with the Scorpion, you can go further. Since the battery is removable on the Scorpion, it is easier to recharge. Storage is similar with the top case on the Scorpion. You do not have to register the Scorpion with the DMV and carry insurance, but you do with the Vespa. When you look at the Scorpion in this light, it is a bargain.

I purchased this bike 1yr ago and I would not recommend it. After 14 months it broke due to electric component failure. Im an avonics specalist with a major airline and so have training and experiance working with electrical components and systems. This is build with cheap parts in China. Specifically the battery terminals and connections are unsafe and will burn which is a mjor safety concern. Mine bike failed and Juiced bikes was even aware of the manufacturing flaw but took no steps to fix it. Please see other youtube videos documenting this dangerous issue.

Great reviews. I’m currently looking to buy a moped style ebike for cruising around town - how would it handled with a passenger ? (I’m 5’10 160lbs and my gf is 5’4 120 lbs) ? I’m concerned about the rear suspension not strong enough t hold both of us . Appreciate any actual ride test feedback.

Or in the UK... in fact, I don’t think throttle controlled ebikes are legal... they have to be pedal assist otherwise you need a CBT (up to 125cc power equivalent) or full motorcycle license... quite strict here! Which stifles innovation in my humble opinion!

My head hurts from all of the research I have been doing on these kinds of E-Bikes over the past 72 hours. This is the last Bike that I have pretty much read, watched videos on. I like it a lot but while the reviews look good, the comments from 8 videos all say "Do Not Buy This Bike" because of poor quality control issues. I almost pulled the trigger today, glad I waited. Last thing, those are dang ugly weld points, someone needs to review the process at the factory. Look at better bikes and you will see what I mean. The Chinese are known for poor paint and welding so be careful with anything you buy from China unless the manufacturer is US based and visits the factory on a regular basis. Think Apple, Powertac to name a few. Too bad, I really like this bike : (

I’ll watch for that no problems yet. This bike comes with issues. If that’s all you go your a lucky man. I got lucky as I got the brushed aluminum. These were the last batch out. I’m thinking they had time to address issues that came up prior. A wonderful bike that was not properly finished I.e., quality control tested. I don’t know if Juiced will survive this. Hope they do and have fix solution for us.

I just don't get how you can justify riding without protection against road rash. At 40-50 km/h speeds it is still going to hurt like hell sliding and leave you healing for weeks. It just doesn't seem worth it to me. I copped road rash once, I was only going at like 20 kp/h, and now I gear up no matter what.

The spokes on my older ocean current bike kept snapping and that only had a 500 w motor. Changing to motorcycle wheels was necessary. I wouldn't mind if they released a version without the pedals and chain and just made it into a moped. Let the buyer handle making it legal.

    • @MrRailfan
      @MrRailfan 3 года назад +1

Cant make it legal because juiced doesn't make VINs for it. I've inquired about a bill of sale for my pre order and you can register it with a bill of sale through some companies which will give you a title for the vehicle, but I'm not holding my breath on juiced providing a bill of sale.
