In this video, we make custom headers for our V Twin 670cc Predator engine in hopes of getting more performance out of it. We also slightly modify the flawed intake design for more flow. Finally, we paint the red hourglass on the underside of the kart, officially deeming it the "Black Widow"

when your about to do homework but carsandcameras uploads a new video
@james4v did graduate now
Yup
Yes
@@samhilger5761 somehow I did
I am completely obsessed with what you have done and thank you for inspiring me go make my own home made go-kart from a lawnmower, school table, mobility scooter....
Wow, nice job guys! I think your next goal should be making a minibike frame to fit another v-twin beast like that, and have a race with the "Black Widow"!
Sounds good, isn't it?
You guys do a great job! Interesting, educational, and totally entertaining. I'm 52 years old and this stuff takes me back to my chikdhood. I grew up around mini bikes, go karts, and motorcycles. I am half tempted to buy a go kart. They were so much fun as a kid.
AWD gokart with awesome suspension.
4WD idk if you would put a awd on a gokart
+BF4_Legion am I the only fucking one who thinks they mean the same thing on a 4 wheel vehicle?
+James Andux lol i used to but they don't. 4wd is all wheels all the time awd is lsd where all wheels aren't powered all the time
+BF4_Legion actually it is just opposite, 4wd means you can switch from 2wd to 4wd awd means all 4 wheels turn at all times, hence being all wheel drive.
+Waylon Richardson wrong.
love it, ive actualy been planning on doing a vtwin build for about 6months now, but you need to prioritize guys. You started the $50 gokart, started the ratrod , then started the vtwin, then finished the $50 then the vtwin, and have thrown the ratrod on the backburner
+Ethan Bean we are working on the rat rod
+Isaac it'll be fine awesome man, I'm sure it'll be fine
Am I the only one who thinks the green wheels should be red? Especially if you are gonna call it the "Black Widow".
+M Kefer I agree, but the audience voted for black and green! We might change it anyway.
+CarsandCameras Yes black and red and give it some white walls.
Yeah that'd be good
I agree with this dude let's do u it
+M Kefer black widow.... YES
Thanks guys, you were partly responsible for my decision to dig my vintage mini bike out of my parents shed. It is now rebuilt with a modded Predator 212 and torque convert. :)
+Aaron L awesome
What happened to changing the sprocket? Higher speed testing? Competing against the Corvette? Bit of a stretch to say this was completed!
+GBU Sprockets didn't arrive soon enough to be in this video. It'll be in a future video with this kart. It may be "completed" as in running reliably, but it is far from done. And the Corvette race was never set in stone, but we would get destroyed the way the kart sits at the moment.
+GBU if u ever built a mini bike or go kart or some kind of project car you know theyre never "completed"
+CarsandCameras it is a nostalgia top fuel dragster
A 5-speed peerless transmission would be a great addition to one of these, I saw one kid do a cool 'shifter' kart on here although the engine would have to sit differently... and I've seen that people have been using smog pumps off of cars as superchargers, it would be awesome to build one of these for the dry lakes as a small cubic inch land speed machine with a supercharged 5-speed V twin. From what I've seen, I think it might also sound a little more harley-esque if you tie the header pipes together and step up in diameter like this one kid did in his minibike video. Keeping karting alive and well!
put fog lights on it since you guys are always driving it around at night. plus, it'd look awesome !!
+Tom Zborovsky red fog lights
+TheNerdyCanadian would not be efficient at all for the light it would produce
calum anderson who said it's supposed to be useful? it's purely for looks
+TheNerdyCanadian I'd say it would need to be useful. :P that's the point of lights
Yeah put a fog light on it that would be sick good idea
Holly Smokes! I LOVE IT! I'm customizing a Coleman Mini bike and thanks to you guys I'm completely changing my plans, but thank you! My bike's got 26" ape hangers on it now, I'll have to go to "drag bars" after seeing what a "stock" 670 can do WOW!
Yall's channel has come a long way. I look forward to the Monday uploads. Keep it up!
With every video, the cart fits the name better and better. Great exhaust, paint, and I'm looking forward to seeing the dual intake setup.
You should Turbocharge that thing with a small VZ21 or RHB31 Turbocharger and use a 45mm FCR Carburetor in front of the Turbocharger so you can run the 1 Single Carb as a Draw Through with a Turbocharger in front of it and just run a Pipe to each intake.
great vid guys. exhaust came out sick. can only imagine the sound. a drift trike would be awesome.
love your channel guys, really do, great fun to watch! why don't you weld a few drilled baffles into the sump to stop the oil surge you got turning into the drive? :) keep up the good work guys!
Hi I have been looking at your videos and it's amazing what you do I'm 66 years old and always been interested in mechanical stuff keep doing vidios they are great Colin from England
Hilarious episode! Anxious to see the dual carbs seems legit
that Black Widow looks like a blast! Love the rumble that thing makes. Keep up the cool work!
+gratefulRed69 thanks
Love the show. I believe you two make a great team and should not change the formula of the show. keep the builds simple and affordable so if the average Joe wanted to do something similar they could.
+MrHondatrxex thats what we plan on but we also like a little over the top too which costs money.
This got the be my favorite video so far. I'm 41 years old and a few months ago, thanks to you guys, I bought an old go-kart. What am I suppose to do with this thing now? Gee thanks. LOL
+Victor flores sorry buddy. lol
With the river so close, I would love to see you build a Predator powered homemade boat or maybe an amphibious go-kart???
+JeepCollector91 are you reading my mind ?
on the Briggs you put a couple of washers under the valve springs to raise the pressures, making sure they don't go coil bound. Good idea to fit steel or machined alloy caps if the originals are cast, easy way for more revs
I think y'all should extend the frame forward and skinny it out in the front, make it look like a little dragster
hell yeah guys! BADASS. I remember when I found this channel only because of the '9 reasons to buy an old go kart' video. I was so stoked on how fun you guys made go karts look and I wish there was more content/ coverage on youtube of modded and home made go karts, but I'm completely fine with you guys doing the job pretty much on your own on youtube! true pioneers! Glad I can be constantly motivated to get my own build going while watching you guys, and I hope you guys continue to grow! thank you for the girly laughs and being the only go-kart badasses on youtube!!!
+kid table thanks for the well spoken words. that really means alot to us. i hope we wont let you down and thanks for watching.
My recommendation:
Between a go-kart size and a smart-car size. One person go-kart style build based on a Golf Cart chassis, with suspension and a motor beefy enough to spin the tires and take a lap around an auto-cross course.
Goal to shoot for:
Set a lap time with the Miata at an Auto Cross course. Beat the Miata with the crazy beast.
...step two:
Travel to the West Coast with the "car" and challenge Roadkill to a golf cart framed, harbor freight powered auto cross cart race...invite viewers of both channels to compete.
??
+Lou Spowells that would be awesome
lllLou Spowells p
I want to put one of these engines on an ultralight aircraft. Replacing the 2-stroke Rotax with the Predator will add some weight and reduce power, but the reliability and fuel consumption should improve. And it's about 1/4 the price. Thanks for showing some of the internals of the engine, and for your ideas on improving power.
Two words "Racing Mower"
You know it's a good vehicle when fire comes out the back
Spits fire. I like it!
Thing sounds awesome and the flames are sick!
Make the black widow a full on drag go kart
Extend the frame add big wheels to the back
Make a killer intake
Put a proper wheelie bar on it
And get it on nos
Make it the most killer kart on RUclips
@carsandcameras
+carsandcameras
Don't forget it needs one of those little turbos they make for scooters
Please this would be awesome
+Zackster698 removing the governor is risky enough on these engines. it can damage them. adding a turbo would kill it unless the engine was reinforced, such as adding stronger pistons, better rings, valves, camshafts, pushrods, and connecting rods.
You can supercharge the intake by using the flywheel fins and piping it up to the intake. Just a thought. Helps with low end torque
A drift go kart!!!!!!!!
thats a good idea @carsandcameras
You guys are awesome, I love watching all of your videos, you have inspired me do a couple builds I've been thinking about!
will you guys ever make a go-kart with suspension?
Thad b sick
+Griche 7 Hopefully! However it would take a higher level of engineering and preparation skills that we can't throw together in two months like our other projects.
Awesome build! Thanks for sharing it. It's always cool to see something with way more horse power than it needs. And then it's usually not enough. Remember kid's, "There is NO Replacement for Displacement"! BTW, Any plans to take it to a drag strip? It'd be neat to see what kind of real word 1/8 mile E.T.'s it would get.
And how about a mini drag bike with a Predator 670 for your next build? It would insane of course, but fun! Or even a twin 670 drag kart with big wide rear slicks. Could you imagine 1340cc's of pure go kart madness? "It would be fiiine"!
Also, since the kart is named Black Widow, metallic red rims would really set off the Black Widow theme.
And I'll be joining Cars Amino and posting pics of my toy. I have a 1974 Alsport Tri-Sport RTS-SL Rat Trike converted to off road with a Rockwell JLO 440cc twin cylinder two stroke.
Edit: I forgot to ask. Without using mufflers or a X-Over pipe, do you have any rich fuel mixture problems on the 670? And since the governor is removed, any plans on installing a Billet or similar flywheel?
And as for the crank case / air / fuel pressure issues, running a single or dual Mikuni carb's and a pump would probably solve it and give you a gain in H.P.
Arc Racing dot c0m has a great inventory of performance twin parts. Check them out. They may have some cool stuff for the 670.
15:18 "DONT BE JUDGIN..." TSHIRT
good work guys can't wait to see what other interesting projects y'all have in store so how about that race
you need to mount a camara by the exsaust so e can see the flames dudes love the vidios you guys are sick lmao
The two pointing up with a maybe home made chrome exhaust tip would make it look awesome
Add a 24oz NOS bottle to it. LOL
But its too much power itself.
+twisterxelite I don't think that exist. ("to much power")
+twisterxelite Or maybe even a little "Whip-it" cartridge of Nitrous. It'll be fine!
Should paint the bottle with a red hourglass too then.
Two carbs, straight intake out the side at equal lengths(no bends, short as possible for top end performance). Possible forced induction with high flow air filters, and of course some mufflers.
Get headlights. two rectangular ones. One on each side. and a tachometer.
I think the exhaust is great I also think along with a few other post the green wheels cool but being the BLACK WIDOW red wheels would be sweet can't wait to see the NEW intake I'm interested in this motor for a chopper build I like the v twin and that sound is ridiculously awesome
It sounded like a Harley. Anybody agree?
No we don't
+JOJOTHEBOSS 21 ok
+Troii_ tyler16458 yes no?????
+JOJOTHEBOSS 21 k
+Troii_ tyler16458 123
You should make a it'll be fine t-shirt. I WOULD TOTALLY BUY THAT
Get that sprocket changed!!!
+1 on the drift trike. Colin Furze ripped out a great one, and I'd love to see you guys give it a go.
you guys should build a gocart with a 2stroke engine like a cr 250 or 125 motor please consider!
Anthony Ward hey that’s what I wanna do have yu found any videos like that ? I don’t wanna use a mini bike engine!
So awesome guys!! I'm excited to see what mods this guy will get in the future. Keep up the great work!
If u had a carb per cylinder, wouldn't you have to sync them up or something?
+Shadowrcmegatech yes they would
+Shadowrcmegatech just put 2 cables, or a pushrod connecting them.
+Shadowrcmegatech Yeah but it wouldn't be too tricky. It'll be fine
+Shadowrcmegatech yup
+86gtforme small single barrel carbs dont have a pusharm the throttle body is inside them so it has to be done by cable still would be easy enough to do
the cart sounds so heavenly patapatapatapata
Please do an double courbourator system and maybe nitrous or an supercharger (sorry for my englisch im an German viewer bzw. hello from germany :-D)
+CarsandCameras
+CarsandCameras
+Marvin Lütje hello germany
Marvin Lütje yes I agree makinis ,right, and no worries your English is fine,we love the German's , smart people 😀
Im from Holland , ich kann ein bischen Deutsch sprechen
That's one severely awesome go kart, it almost sounds like a big block v8 on flyby
should of made a 2 into 1 exhaust it would of unlocked more power from scavenging the other cylinder
Thats what I said but I said do it in an x pattern. With two exhausts.
awesome videos guys. well I am just about to start an all wheel drive drift trike project...pedal power on the front wheel (so its legal to use anywhere a bike can be used) and a 3000 watt rear drive system to really have fun with. the nice thing about electric power is the immediate torque off the line like your black widow.keep up the good work!!!
+rodman23t good luck
Please do an doubble courbourator system and an nitrous system (sorry for my englisch im a German Viewer ) Hello from Germany ^^
+Marvin Lütje hello germany
good work guys can't wait to see y'all's other interesting projects, now how bout that race
it would be cool if they made a gokart with a small supercharger
A pump supercharger would be sweet
Love the "xhaust"! Might want to repaint the wheels red to go with the hour glass and black widow theme.
bleeding ears, Flames backfires and wheelies someone say NHRA.
Man am i the only one watching this old stuff? Rad!
OMG, John and Isaac looks so different 4 years 9 months ago. Oh guys, I miss the 600+ CC builds and I can't wait for the snowmobile engine to be used..
you guys have a wonderful friendship
For the intake and carburettor problems, I recommend a gx390 / or a predetor 420 carburettor for each cylinder with pod filters! Would be fast!
this build is badass! watching your channel has motivated me to build a kart of my own. I'd love to see someone use a yz125 engine and transmission and make a shifter kart that goes off road if that makes any sense haha. I always see people making a shifter kart for on road use only but I think adding a shift able transmission on something good like this black widow would be EPIC!
+98dc2gsr575 that would be cool
That joint is raw!
Coolest Kart I've ever heard great job. It'll probably even sound good with mufflers.
This keeps getting better and better. Great job with the channel guys, this is pretty cool!
I like that 300zx in the background.
absolutely love the predator 670cc's, your builds, you guys, and just all the good, God bless :)
I love it men I really do its so loud and so cool you two did a really nice job I can't wait to see your next build
Isaac you are so king of the hill. You sound just like Hank Hill!!!!!
Future project suggestion: Build a half-track go kart. You built for speed on this one. Go for all-terrain on the next. Either that or go electric.
Fun show. Keep up the good work.
love the chain-link steering wheel ideal!!!
Stiffer springs are the way to go. This is coming from dirt kart racing experience.
keep this build going see how far u can take it
I've noticed on this video more than others, that the rear sprocket sits pretty close to the ground. wouldn't be a bad idea to make a skid plate out of some diamond plate.
Totally awesome build!! Great job!
+bryan “crazy cooter” terrell thanks
I been watching yall for minute that's wat made start to like theses thing but I don't know nothing bout small engines but yall help me figure out little things I couldn't do
Ha Ha! I noticed the little child cowboy doll thing moving with you as you changed cameral angles! saw it at 6:50 and around 17:35 minute marks. At this moment, that's as far as I got in the video. I love the videos! Keep up the good work guys!
I love the gokart guys its awesome it makes me want to get back into building go carts
I used some of ur videos to learn about my predator motor I'm building a skateboard with it. 45 in wide by 6 ft
with torque converter and using a double Axel set up to increase torque
Nice. The pipes look badass ! It shows up the Engine.
Looking forward to the next video! Sounds like my 35HP Vanguard!
I know the problem with the Vanguard V-twins is valve float after removing the Gov. I hadn't had a problem with mine but I wasn't getting past 4500 RPM and thought it was because of my Carb setup wasn't right. Ended up being that the driven clutch spring needed tuning. Its now getting up to 6000 RPM and I added Valve shims, Performance V-Twin High rev kit.
Really looking forward to what you guys end up with because Im planning on using the 22hp for a Kids Mini sand rail.
You guys should add a clutch system for launch control and, well...revving!
Best thing to do would to build an equal length 2 into 1 exhaust for this. It'll add lots of torque on the low end and if you're going to change the sprocket, you'll need it to get up to speed!
sounds awesome if you could neck the pipes up to 2" it would sound like a HD. and tween carbs would be so awesome and eazey as heck to do.
Its a good thing performance 670 makes performance parts for these engines
I love how the cut the muffler right next to there gas tank and had sparks flying into it
It would be nice to see a flame thrower kit installed on those pips. Headlights, even the cheap led lights at walmart would be good for a go kart.
I would like to see a two stroke powered kart next!
Hey guys. It would be really cool to eventually see y'all add a manual transmission to it. Just to see how fast it will go top speed wise.
"Black Widow Maker"
also that the All wheel drive go cart sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!
A go kart that has gears. Like a kx 65 motor on one. But a drift trike or go kart with suspension would be cool. Love the videos guys makes me wanna build a kart. Keep it up!!
@carsandcameras I would like to see wider tires in the front. also could y'all make a video with just burnouts and wheelies with all of your other karts? with this build I would like to see it a lot faster with a lot more chrome parts onto the motor. it's not mine so I can't tell you how and what to do with it. thanks
SUPERCHARGED 2STROKE! with your awd setup ;)
What if you mod a Harley 883 cab and manifold for the "black widow". Thank for all the vids. Keep them coming.
