Finland has the highest metal band concentration in the world, by a huge margin. This list had some very heavy entries included as well (pretty rare for these lists) and this list is imho the most accurate in that way, even though those very heavy metal bands have a more specific audience. Especially the top 4 is rock solid, and no matter how you make this list, those spots won't change. Nightwish (the number one there) has been my personal favourite band ever since late 90s when I got my hands on their leaked demo tape. They have had 3 main female vocalists and 3+ male vocalists (and many guest male vocalists). I personally love the first (Tarja), and the current female vocalist (Floor) who are both absolutely amazing. The 2nd one is also great, but sings in a more pop'ish style which I personally am not a fan of, but she has a huge following with people who love pop music. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboardist is the brains and soul of the band, he writes and composes 99% of the songs, and also plays as many of the classical instruments as his hands allow, the rest come from a pre-recorded backing track, that has been recorded with world famous Orchestras and choirs *Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (live at Wacken)* is the MOST reacted to song on YT. If you react to that, the Nightwish army (Nightwish fan club) will come support you en masse most likely led by Gabriel Bardac! It is one of the most amazing and beautiful performances I have ever seen. Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) was in a in multiple competition of being the worlds best metal guitarist. He died of alcoholism just being little over 40- years old. Their latest album he did knew his days were numbered you can feel it in couple of the songs on that album
I call BS on any list of Top 10 Finnish Metal bands that doesn't include Sentenced. While e.g. Ensiferum and Finntroll are fine bands and I've got nothing against them whatsoever, claiming that Sentenced is a more meaningful and more deserving of a top 10 spot band is a hill I'm willing to die on.
