SACRAMENTO CITY COLLEGE EXPRESS, November 16, 1960, Queen Shows Added Talent--Homecoming queen Mona Donato will show the student body that she can do more than look pretty when she appears with The Tri-Lites, a singing trio, on December 6. With Miss Donato will be her sister Bonnie, who attends Bishop Armstrong High School, and Ronnie Andre, another City College student. The trio will sing for local students at a 12:45 assembly in the college auditorium. The three young people have quite a record of appearances to their credit since they formed their trio in December 1958. In April, they appeared on the same bandstand with such stars as Perry Como, Patti Page, Nat (King) Cole, and Ernie Ford. That was at the annual convention of the Music Operators of America in Chicago. It was the first time that any vocalist or vocal group from Sacramento had received a bid to the MOA gathering. The trio has also appeared at dances, on local television shows, and for groups such as the Catholic Youth Organization and the Oakland Athens Club.
