- The NEW STORYTELLER from the Vanilla Expanded Team may be the best one yet. Adding Rick "Pickle Man" Sanchez to the game, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like him. Textures? Randomized? Text? Atomized. Sanity? Disintegrated. Rick turns your entire Rimworld game upside down 173.8 degrees and then inverts it's colors. On Twitch, I decided to try to stream playing with him, and good lord was it a mistake. Enjoy!

@@griddy922 Rick & Morty is one of those shows you don't want to look behind the curtain on. IIRC... Roland the exec producer & main voice actor of Rick & Morty. Used to get beligerant while recording lines? Which gave improv gold, but made recording S1 a nightmare... Idk all the details, whether or not this was changed... But the genius is there hidden under burps and poop jokes.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to play Rimworld with this storyteller. The gameplay effects are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of cryptography most of the settings will go over a typical player's head. There's also Rick's dadaist outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Tristan Tzara's poetry, for instance.

sometimes is good to remake the rimworld install from scratch. delete everyting and start over. there is always that mod that is forgotten or simply you dont care that is installed and you dont even remember so it stays there untill it fucks things over.
Plot twist, the mod just corrupts all your files to simulate the real Rick experience

i think it was an extremely bad mod conflict considering that's the reason why he had to reinstall everything. from what i know rick supposedly only affects the save he was active on
The mod is made by a well respected modder within the community, pretty sure this mess was caused by mod conflict

On this topic I do have a question...how do I purge the steam cloud data for Rimwolrd? I installed some mods that cause the game to freeze/crash before it gets to main game screen = I cant edit the mod list to purge it.
Uninstaling did nothing as the mods are via steam workshop/held in cloud.

tbf I never played this mod but I have had the disappearing menu thing before, I had it earlier today actually. Usually restarting rimworld fixes it for me, I assume this was something more permanent caused by this particular mod set?

Did you consider verifying the integrity of the game files? Uninstalling and reinstalling just reuses the files synced to Steam. Verifying it makes Steam compare what is installed to what is store-default. Most issues with steam can be resolved by verifying the integrity of a game.
If you want to get rid of your loaded mods, just opt in for a beta built. You load it and it sets it back to vanilla, even when you swap back to the current version

if you activate too many visual mods at once, the main UI may just disappear completely. This seems due to the way rimworld allocates and addresses sprites. some mods just are too wasteful with memory allocation of the whole engine.
i had symilar problem (menus not existing), rolling back a version (with the same modlist) worked
