AI Filmmaking is a refreshingly new form of art of this decade. But not all what glitters is gold.
I don’t think "artificial intelligence" should be used to mindlessly automatize the film making craft, but rather understanding its limits and use it as a tool. This list aims at documenting the ways in which filmmakers utilize image generative models from the early days of text-to-image and text-to-video tools until mid 2023.
Music videos, dances, animations or real and fake commercials, the list has a variety of different uses on how to approach image generative AI. From StyleGAN, VQGAN+CLIP, Pytti, DALLE 2, to Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, PikaLabs, Gen-1 and Gen-2, the list is also a visual evolution through time of how text2image and text2video evolved.
