I bought the Nova some months ago and I enjoy it. It definitely sounds Harmon-ish but the kind of tips you use and the quality of the source can bring different characteristics out of them. I also own the Thieaudio Legacy 4 which has a similar tuning as well.

I like the novas, but i would to put my 2 cents into it. When I had these, the connector became extremely loose after 3 weeks or so. Everytime i took them out of my pockets i would need to put the 2 pin back. Simply, be careful if you buy these. Treat them well.
@@oftensalty I do actually think it was a mistranslation on their part, since other parts of the package says Halo rather than Hola, but I think they did settle on Hola as a way to signify it being a product to introduce you to truthear IEMs. Your first IEM. The same with how the Gate is named in a way that also may also represent your first IEM, or an introduction to the market

Around that price range it depends on what you're looking for as crin said. If you like the idea of the Harman sound signature you can go for it, but there's very strong competition like the PULA PA02, the different planars like the Dioko and S12 line etc etc

I wish there was an easy way of checking the nozzle size on most iems out there (please point me in the right direction in case there is). My ear canal is tiny to the point where the truthear zero blue would start hurting over a short period of time, and the hexa, the lypertek tevi and the current tangzu zetian wu all have the tendency to slide out somewhat, even with the smallest tips coming alongside the iems
5:26 the Harman target is hated not just because of bass in general. It's the MID-bass (or lower midrange) that often gets culled on sets with Harman tuning that turn people off since that sacrifices note weight and body, making it sound thin

Sent them back had pressure in my small ears, like the hola cable more than the nova cable which was also too stiff over the ears for me and liked the tuning not. Rather listen to the hola also got the kato instead and I like them more than the nova.

It's a V-shaped tuning that far less fits the otherwise excellent Harman research than the newer 5128 based measurments and population hrtf measurements allow for. Even Sean Olive is considering it needing an update.

I'd bet if a 100 hobbyists ranked 10 competitive options the Nova would get most top ranks even if the average score was high. Hiya Crin! G'day from 'Straya! Shamefully I did this before your store opened, but I flew to Singapore to pick up a pair of Truthear Zeroes to replace a pair of Moondrop Arias, and i've gotta say... In terms of a bang for buck comparison they're probably my favourite IEMs on the market. They sound really nice. Crispy highs, deep bass that isn't too muddy, really well tuned for the kinda music i like. Might grab a pair of Novas from the Hangout when i'm in Singapore next time. The only thing I don't like about my Zeroes is the stock eartips... Which i replaced with some nice foam tips. I blame that on my ears and not the headphones themselves.
So is the Hangout open 6 days a week now or still the same days and hours of operation? I was in SG for 5 days and the day I picked to visit the Hangout and it was closed.

Just get the CCA Trio for 20-30USD. It's a way better value multi-DD iem in terms of tonality. I know Crin and CCA don't meet eye to eye anymore but I look at the product not brand and giving money to KZ isn't unethical.

Truthear do miss, though. They miss out on every single customer who has narrow ear canals. Their nozzles are unnecessarily beastly, which makes them all a hard pass for many folks, including me.

mine as well I ended using epoxy on them to keep them connected after buying a nice cable for it.

My ears are picky and preferences changes a lot too but I consistently cant handle how congested the mids are and how sharp the treble is :((
