Heyyy 👋🏾 My plateau length had always been around collar bone (shoulder length). After I stopped doing these things, my hair has been growing and I'm aiming for tailbone length by 2027. What's your plateau length?

Mine was armpit length. I would wear it out and style my hair every 3 days thinking I was protecting my ends. Then I messed it up by doing a texlax. So I big chopped last September. I have been keeping it moisturrized and started protecting my hair under a head band wig. I came across your videos and I learned to plait and use flaxseed gel at the ends of my hair and I am seeing crazy growth and retention. By the end of this year my hair will be longer than last year before I big chopped it off. Thanks to you sis❤❤❤❤. You are a blessing!!

What an amazing journey!! I'm definitely glad you mentioned about Texlax because I was told it wouldn't really affect my hair. Glad I didn't do it now. It's amazing how just protective styling and putting our ends away does wonders. Can't wait to hear about your growth next year 🙌🏽
      And thank you ☺️

@@Natural2020_ A textlax is the same as a relaxer. It's just a weaker form. I only did it once and for a few months it was cute. But I started to notice my hair was getting thinner and my banto knots lost the volume it had. I decided to let it grow out then cut it when I felt comfortable with the length. I hated the way my hair was beginning to look it was lifeless. So I chopped it off and started a new growth journey... fyi 😃

For me, I plateaued at just above bra strap length. The reason was simple, I did ALL the wrong things for my hair! I started heat stretching after every wash, which was every week at the time. I stopped using coconut oil prior to washing, and I wore my hair out every week AND I combed it dry! 😅 My hair kept getting shorter and shorter. Then, I had to cut a significant amount a couple of years ago from heat damage and just over manipulation. Now I'm back to just about bras strap length. ☺️

My plateau has been shoulder length. I have very fine strands, medium density. Even though every single porosity test result indicated my hair was low porosity, when I started treating it like high porosity, I started maintaining more length. I had to add protein treatments. I also believe tucking my ends away and double sealing my ends (flaxseed or botanical gels) helped.

Mine is bra strap length. I have realized that I don't moisturize enough like I did in the past, especially in a wash and go. I also began to roller set my natural hair for more of a stretched style. Hair behaves better and holds moisture better too.

My plateau is shoulder length. I've gotten past it in the past but I had a set back and had to cut it. It had multiple lengths and it's just now getting to be one length. So I know it is growing, just not very fast. Plus I have to color my grey hair which is a demarcation for growth so I used to wash my hair weekly but I'm trying to go every two weeks now or even once a month. I don't use a lot of products so I don't get a lot of build up.
