WE HAVE BEEN WAITING SOOOOOO LOOOOONG!!!!! Thanks so much for uploading such a thorough process! I'll be excited to see how this ecosystem progresse into the future!
This turned out so well! I love how the logs ended up being placed and I love how you ended up with multiple waterfalls. That really adds a lot of dimension to the build. It's wonderful and I am sure your animals will love it. The Q&A was fun and informative. ^_^
I was waiting for this! Ed's video's are amazing but I knew once everyone's gone you where going to have a personal video with the pond! So happy for you, you definitely deserve this!
Ok thanks for answering my question! I'll add some duck weed and maybe ssoon some water hyacinth and see if she eats it! Your pond is absolutely incredible!
Haha I'm glad my mongoose question made you laugh, I forget that most people don't live with them around. They were introduced to Hawai'i in the 1880's with the intent of removing the rat population (didn't work because mongeese are diurnal and rats are nocturnal) thanks so much for answering my question Greg, it was really helpful!
I'm kinda new to this stuff but what were those black plastic crate things being put together? I have a cheap pond set up for carnivorous plants and I think I could use those to raise up my planters better. I've been using plastic baskets from dollar tree but they don't work that good
Are you going to fence off pond and make it another enclosure for some of your box turtles? And possibly expansion into wood turtles since you have a pretty great habitat for them.
@@GregsTurtleHaven I know Chris up in New Jersey has some solid hatchlings every year that would be my first suggestion don't know about any in GA tho.
Hey Greg what a beautiful setup you have! I'm wondering what the black paneling they're using is. I just have white egg crate on a PVC frame for my turtles to get into their sunning area but the eggcrate breaks yearly this stuff looks like it might hold up!
greg i have one question, i think u are the absolutely right person to ask this question, since you know i am from india and hee we dont have experts or herpetologist as u guys have in your country, i am facing a real big problem due to which i have lost many of my turtles everyyear, i have been with turtles since so many years but ever since then i havent tackled with this sort of situation, i am totally helpless in this scenario. so my problem is this like in everwinter when my turtle hybernate in pond as you have seen on my channel, after hybernation some of turtles and especially females only when they come out of hybernatio n there limbs swell either hind or front and its kind of swollen limbs and tutles are not able to use those limbs and then they stop eating and eventually they die,,,, this happens with females only i have consult many doctors but havent find any sollution please help me i am working on indian roof turtles and mostly my semi adult females face this problem ,,,,,,
i need your help please help me so that i could save further some more lives,,,,,, right now also few of my turtles are facing this problem and when this swollen limb happens my turtle spend mostly time out of water so please help me identify this pproblem so that i could really get them well in better and could save them from dieing !
Hi, your videos are good, I'm also a turtle breeder, I have a question, why don't you use Latin names for turtles? I am from the Czech Republic and most breeders use the Latin name for turtles, everyone then knows what kind it is. Thanks. George Pytela
I do use Latin names, but with this channel intend to use common names for those new to turtles and reptiles. In the future I’ll try to include both for those of you in non-English speaking countries 👍🏼
@@GregsTurtleHaven Thanks, that would be nice, in our country, of course, we also speak English, although it is not our native language :) But the name turtles do not belong to classical English, which is taught here. I'm watching your videos and I'm glad to see the turtles I keep at home in their natural habitat. Thanks. It's instructive.
For musk turtles, I'm not a proffesinial but I would recommend around three times the bottom to the highest point of their shell and make that water that deep, so if their shell is 2 inches tall like a juvenile average then 6 inches max of water depth
with aquatic turtles you should always wash your hands...reptiles usually have salmonela on their feses...that's normally not a problem, but aquatic turtles poop on their water, so there is always a chance that salmonella is on the water, on the shell and scales too since they swim on their poop water...but handle them and then wash your hands and pronto
Did you have to get your neighbors’ permission to put the waterfall in? Running water is relaxing but so are wind chimes and people get sued over those.
My neighbors love it, and luckily in my neighborhood you don’t need anyone’s permission for anything. Side effect is guys ripping around the neighborhood shirtless on four wheelers and shooting guns at night

Awesome Aquascape beautiful work. Happy Turtles and tortoises in that stretch. Digging the sound of the waterfall and stream.

That’s awesome you created a pond dedicated to turtles. Well done 👍🏼
What an awesome pond. Your backyard is beautiful.
Looks great Greg. Looking forward to spring.
Thanks Liana, me too! 🌺
Looking Great!!!
I was watching Ed’s video about your build when this popped up. Lol

Very beautiful!
I wish I had a backyard like yours.
I have one of my snappers back, after a couple of years, and she's BIG.
I'm so happy about that!
That’s great!

This looks amazing! Spoiled turtles 🐢 lol I’m jealous! They did a fantastic job!
Wow that came out awesome 👍
I see at least 4 baseball teams worth of a work force.
Incredible work.
The new pond looks great. your turtles are going to love it
I think they will love it and enjoy it more than me!
@@GregsTurtleHaven how are you going to stock your pond?
Love this.
Looks nice 👍 keep up the good work!
this is the coolest thing ever
When Greg answers your questions:

Yep
You guys killed it!
Thanks! They did amazing work

Aquablocks
I bet the neighbors loved you during the whole process lol
Thanks greg
Are you going to fence off pond and make it another enclosure for some of your box turtles? And possibly expansion into wood turtles since you have a pretty great habitat for them.
Fence is coming, amassing wood and supplies first. As for wood turtles, if some CB offspring are available in my state, that would be cool 😎

Aquablox . They even sell them on Amazon .
@@scottnorman893 thank you so much! Now that you say it he said it earlier in the video. It'll definitely make my setup look better.
Yo! So good!
Thanks!
I have two reeves turtles , noticed that one has part of its tail missing possibly bitten by the other turtle any advice , they are in an aquarium.
What I want to know is where did you keep all of your turtles while they did all of this? It looks really awesome.
Tortoises all went into tubs in side while all the craziness was happening
yesss now this is what i was waiting for! awesome man!! AWESOME! -kuro.ninjo from instagram
Thank you!
U must really like turtles, that looks like it was probably cost a fair amount
Down for life! #rideordie 🐢
✨🐢💚 wow
Thanks a lot I have red ear sliders at home
Hey Greg, I love your channel. How much would something like this cost to get installed in your yard?
About $43,000 .
Do you plan to put a barrier around the pond to prevent your turtles from scaping?
Of course. Waiting on wood prices to come down while it’s winter, but there will be a fence/barrier around the whole thing
3:58 secret snapper!
Ha, not a secret, I mention it later in the video and show it again. But it sure loves that hide!
gokil!!! = awesome!!!
After a long time bro..
Love this environment do you plan on putting a barrier around it to prevent escaping turtles
Fence build is coming!

Go to an aquarium supply store, test your nitrate levels. Sounds like they are under and taking on a lot of bacteria

I will, but I may be adding another iconic species of native colubrid, so I’m waiting to see if I can make it happen
R.I.P. Greg’s dog
I miss him every day
How deep of water can I keep a juvenile Razorback musk turtle?
For musk turtles, I'm not a proffesinial but I would recommend around three times the bottom to the highest point of their shell and make that water that deep, so if their shell is 2 inches tall like a juvenile average then 6 inches max of water depth
I start shallow the first 4 months, couple inches. Then gradually deeper with branches and things to climb and rest on
with aquatic turtles you should always wash your hands...reptiles usually have salmonela on their feses...that's normally not a problem, but aquatic turtles poop on their water, so there is always a chance that salmonella is on the water, on the shell and scales too since they swim on their poop water...but handle them and then wash your hands and pronto
