@@columbusohio299 I didn't even know it won a Grammy, since I've never followed them, but Norah Jones has put out some incredible albums. Beautiful music.
Eminem has BEEN telling y’all how it is!!!!
I honestly respect that the Grammy’s doesn’t just hand out popularity awards. They actually take the time to listen to the album as a body of work. They pay attention to how much you write and produce. Maybe he should’ve listened to her album instead of assuming it wasn’t worth an award because she wasn’t popular enough.
Then if that was the case Cardi and Megan shouldn't have never received them especially before Nicki.
Ah yeah that's why Beyonce's 11yo daughter won a Grammy, cause they listen to quality music 😁
You don't get Em's point. Grammys making all famous artist come to awards show making their hopes high then give it to some unknown and never heard person. Wasting all these famous artists time.
lol yeah they take time my butt. They just gave it whoever they think deserved. Oscar, grammy is all about politics now.
This is true. They give them to people who have connections. Awards are like currency for favors. 🏆
It's whoever sells and peddles the Hollywood agenda better. It's subtle and most people will just think "it's what the culture gravitates towards" no, that might legitimately be a small fractional minority but the entertainment industry is like a black hole with its artificial gravity sucking in people's attention making them think it's a collective interest when it's not. It's just to keep you distracted from bigger issues.
Nora not even know so how TF She got connections to the Grammy
Nora Jones has been in the music industry for a long time remember seeing her music on MTV, but if u like music you'd know her but a majority of ppl only stick to one or three genre
He not talking bout now ... he explains why he stopped going to the Grammy years ago ... Nora Jones wasn't getting a lot of Radio play back then ...the wins she got at the Grammy actually boosted her career cause it made people wanna find out who she was .
Not back when this was happening with him and awards shows. He'd been on the scene for a few years already before Norah Jones came up. It's got nothing to do with her, like he said, and everything to do with popularity over actual music that shapes people's lives.

Norah Jones was huge that year though. Her record had mass appeal and was actually really good.
can't name a single good song by Nora Jones...
@tokra7776 I can name several. Clearly the Grammys could too.
You're right! Her CD was also selling at every Starbucks location across the US due to request. She was big that year.
Her last best album came out in like 2003.
@sugarwaterpurple5280 Googling the album so you can get the titles does not count as listing hit songs that everyone would have known haha.
Norah Jones won; the album Come Away with Me was critically acclaimed and sold 27 MILLION records. It had a big effect on folk music.
Yeah, people he knows may not have brought that album, but it went platinum in all major markets and eight times platinum in the US. If she didn't win, it would have been rigged.
I absolutely love this album ❤❤
I know.. I’m like “2 records?? Oh please”
It charted at 30 on the Billboard before the Grammy’s. It didn’t go platinum or double platinum until after. That’s his point. The Grammy’s gave her sales a huge boost. She wasn’t double platinum until 2005.
It was trash.
Norah Jones is amazing....like AMAZING. Just because he hasnt heard of her...if anything, those were the days that Grammys awarded properly
Bro stop being dumb, She is nobody before the Grammy. She is boosted by the wins that She didn't deserves

Remember when they used BTS for clout? They actually did really well getting to the top spot in the billboard 100’s for several weeks in a row for Dynamite and Butter, was invited to the Grammys TWICE, (breaking records for the amount of viewers they had) were asked to perform and got snubbed of their awards both years in a row. #scammys
And really now, BTS doesn't need the Grammys.....at all
Even if it wasn't a set up someone would lose lol. Maybe even someone that shows up and performs.
Who is bts
They knew that views would go up having BTS there cus K-pop fans r hardcore n they won’t miss a thing, if they can’t physically be there best believe they r watching it, n sum of them probably have another TV or computer that’s recording it, n they will watch it on all their devices, phones, tv, laptop, so 1 person streaming triple the views, they do not play

Don't be silly. No one heard much about Dido before Em put her on so he knows that people appreciate more than rap. Most rap artists collab with artists not in their genre. They watch the charts more than you so know the different genres. Don't make your ego make you think you know more about music than a 30 year veteran and one of the most successful artists in the world. Especially when no one knows your accomplishments in music because you haven't reached the heights of a musician even invited to these events. And I don't even like Em but I respect the fact that he knows his industry and can speak as an insider instead of as a viewer claiming superior knowledge when it's pure imagination for likes

I think it’s a valid take since Em is thinking about Rap and that genre of music and how the Grammys neglects it. It wouldn’t expect him to know Norah Jones since he’s not in her demographic nor listens to her kind of music. I’m not defending the Grammy’s and their voting committee because I think they’re bullshit but Norah Jones is a big name in Jazz/Folk so there could be an argument made for her earning a Grammy.
But like I said, the Grammys neglects rap music in general and overlooks it in favor of more radio friendly music. Eminem is definitely a bigger name than Norah Jones in pop culture.
that reminds be when 50 Cent lost the award to Evanescence... they sold like 2 million more than him... but rap fans didn't know the band... and metal fans didn't know 50 either... for the hip-hop community they think 50 got robbed... but numbers are numbers... still I'm against any awards in the arts and entertainment when they are this shady and easy to be manipulated.
