Absolutely beautiful as always! Never, EVER, tire of seeing your new or old projects and incredibly painted armies! This is indeed a unique and fun war to game.
Just epic. What a great add to the collection. And the fact they are the older MiniFigs!!! Well done on this amazing project. I'll repost this over on the TtC group and tag my friend Tom Dye - the MiniFig guy. He would love what you have done. Talk soon, Kevin. ~Fritz
@@Forge_n_Brush thank you Fritz. I am now starting with the small Turkish contingent trying to find suitable figures for that. I am having to be extremely creative. I probably should do a RUclips on the creativity.😂😂😂
Hey there Kevin, lovely army! I very much enjoy your videos and I've been inspired to start my first 15mm army. I wanted to ask what size bases do you use for the round bases? (I recall you use 40x40mm for the troops, so I ordered some already) Cheers!
Wonderful work. The amount of effort required to properly research the army organisation and find/purchase the correct figures, let alone the modelling and conversion and painting and re- basing, is astounding. Add in scale creep over the years, manufacturers differing interpretation of what constitutes a 15mm figure ( i.e. to the eyes or to the top of the hat), and that sadly, many of the older well established miniature companies no longer exist, and you have completed a huge task. Bravo!
@@buckospiffle594 thank you very much for your comment. I think you grasp the situation 100%. It is exactly as you wrote both Russian Army and the British Army were real tasks in itself. The Turks will be less so and the French I already finished except for maybe a few units. But they turned out very nicely and I’m happy with how it looks. I appreciate your comments more than you know.
@@TheArmchairHistorian oh my gosh, each one is different entirely of how long it takes me if I am by myself with no distractions I can bang out 1000 men army in four weeks if I have to work deal with things and people company, etc., and then it could take me six weeks sometimes longer
That is very, very nice. I'm a big fan of the "does this look like a period painting of this battle" for an army. Which is why for the whole "black powder" or "horse and musket" period, I do 2mm. But this looks SO, so good. Very very good work sir!
@@FelixstoweFoamForge thank you so very much. I was a little bit afraid of what it would look like having older figures that really nobody wants anymore. You can hardly give them away. But I think that the army organized this way looks nice. I finished the Russians now the Brits, and the French, so the only thing left are the Turks. I really did like the black powder air and the turmoil between 1840 and 1900. But thank you for your comments. Makes me feel great.
Fantastic work Kevin. The army looks great. The figures might be older, but they really do look lovely. The good news is that you can basically fight the Eastern wing of the Alma, and with some Franco-Prussian French you have the Western wing covered too. Would look smashing, especially with that teddy bear fur mat that you used for this video.
@@ZenMiniPainting thank you yes, I have a very large French army actually, it’s way too big and I’ll probably be selling the French part of the Crimean war. I don’t need two armies. Actually, when I was finished, I thought of dedicating to you just because I know that you’re working on one and I so enjoy your videos.
Lovely looking troops Kev! I said to my self "I hope he has the Light brigade" before watching the video. An interesting conflict and one that is seldom seen in miniature gaming.
@@nordicmaelstrom4714 thank you very much for your messaging me I never know of people like when I put up. But you’re right the brigade was pretty tough. The figure is just unavailable. @@paulbrockhurst8397 thanks Paul. I was surprised at the end how nice it looked. I really struggle to get the look with limited resources and not being able to get the figures anymore. I had fun taking old retired collections and making the new again.
@@wgeffoxdo9719 I agree with you the guard units all kind of stand out and pop. I really like them as well. You’ve got a good eye. But they’re really older figures and painting them most difficult like faces and stuff. I think back in the 70s, they didn’t have a lot of definition, like a lot of figures do today. A good flag and some nice highlights and Presto. They look good.

You have so many armies painted up, how long does each one normally take you?
