Speedster Stove test ride ~ Coffee in the secret campsite

  • High up on the Sheffield Moorland lies one of my favourite campsites. Today I sat peacefully by ‘the rock’ cuddled up warm and cosy with my dog drinking hot coffee with water boiled on my new Speedster alcohol stove set. I love the quiet boil of a spirit burner. This set is great, super lightweight, efficient and safe. It all worked out well in the end after leaving my water at home 🤭ATB, Sarah

Hi Sarah, great to see you out with little Renzo, nothing beats an hiking /wildcamping buddy. I got a cockerpoo for the exact reason, she’s 2 now and absolutely loves it, watching her confidence grow on scrambles and being out in all conditions has been amazing …she’s the best water bottle ever too on winter camps😂😂

With me on their best behaviour one day ha ha! Alcohol stoves are certainly a winner in my book. I didn’t enjoy taking my gas stove the other day, not to mention how heavy it was S well as loud in the tranquility of The Kinder Scout Plateau ☺️

    Hi Sarah,
Nice to see you out with Renzo, looks like he enjoyed himself. Good job you managed to find a spring, and the book from Twiggy. Those little stoves or pucks have a lot going for them, you mentioned a simmer ring, did you know you can use coins or washers, just put them on top before you light up and it limits the area that is burning.
    Cheers

Hey 👋🏻 that’s awesome! Pat is the true King of camps. I hope I get to shake his hand one day when I’m out and about 😊 The speedster stove is all I use and can’t imagine having any other. I find it both lightweight and compact, safe to use in the tent. If you have seen any of my other videos you’ll notice that I use it inside the tent vestibule, that was the main reason for its purchase. I camp on the moorland so needed a safe stove and I’ve found it. I’m going to purchase another from Speedster that I can use with a frying pan for more elaborate meals such as fish and meat. Exciting ✨⛺️

Thanks for the mention @SoloSarahB. What started off as a throwaway comment/joke has now gathered some serious momentum. Our very own GeoCache - I'm going to have to make an efffort to get up there and sign in myself. Seeing as I already have far too many stoves of various types, I'll have to pass on the Speedster stove. Although that new multifuel SOTO stove that @PaulMessner has been using lately has caught my eye. However I need to get some new winter B2 boots first.
Nice to see one of your pooches out on your trips, although given the depth of vegetation, perhaps not the most practical. I feel sorry for his tackle, must have been freezing dragging in the grass/heather :grinning_squinting_face: Keep smiling and ATB.

Thanks very much for this speedy reply. I’ve recently subscribed to your channel and I’m enjoying catching up on your back catalogue of videos. I’m a walker, not a camper, but I’m very familiar with the Peak District and will be taking my caravan to Castleton in April next year for more walking. I’ll look at the Boya mic but not sure if I’m ready to become a RUclipsr. Wind noise can be distracting but I hate it when viewers criticise something that they get for free. Keep up the good work and I look forward to watching more of your adventures.
