Oh man... gotta start somewhere... honestly get the right tools and do some learning, one day you'll look back and see how terrible this it. Its 100% effort bois, keep it up. Thumbs up
Ino lol made my heart feel good watching these dudes 😂😂😂 young car guys I remember the days. Had a 97 cougar on the same platform and now I'm tuning bmws
i used aluminum rain gutter that I had left over from my house to quick fix my exhaust. I tried using a piece of a paint rolling tray, but it was steel and rusted through very quickly. I'm hoping the aluminum will last a bit longer. I just used hose clamps to attach. Its definitely like 90% quieter. So far, so good.
Great video at least you young men gave it a good, and it was a valuable learning lesson and to be quite frank the muffler shop would at least charged you $100 more so you did great and saved money... you don’t always need those shops
Great comment Halsey Marcoux ! There's no reason for everybody to be given negative comments other than safety suggestions when they are trying and not taking the easy way out kids are lazy nowadays this was really refreshing especially since they didn't go to Mom and Dad as many do and again great comment 😊
This was fun to watch. At least you had some fun doing it. I've learned over the years not to do exhaust work as every nut and bolt is a battle without a torch, but forgot that recently when I tried to replace my muffler, but then found out the tailpipe was rusted out also, fought the rusted bolts, banged and pounded for a couple hours, got sunburned, but at least I'll save several hundred dollars doing it myself. I'm glad to see young people trying to fix their own cars. My only comment is maybe you could have bought some 2" straight pipe, cut two 20" sections and attached to the existing pipe with a 2" to 2" coupling and clamps. If you needed a slight bend you could get an electrician (conduit bender) to help or use a 1-1/2" pipe to force a slight bend. Your tips would have then clamped on like normal, but that's how you learn. Over the years I've tried all the muffler tape, wrap, goo, etc. with temp at best results. A muffler shop would have been reluctant to do the job without mufflers, and would have charged at least $200, so you are way ahead on your $50 in parts. I agree with the comments on safety when working under cars (not applicable with this video). I worked with a guy who got crushed when some cinder blocks failed and he ended up with one eye that wouldn't move and lost his sense of taste. I think about that almost every time I work under a car!
Bravo! Kids you're a trip! The old adage , just do it! Looks like it worked! Nothing wrong with flex pipe, I used a 30" piece to repair a system and step band clamps. Had to get the pipe from NAPA cut to size. You guys make me feel better about your generation.... learn by doing!
The only thing I want to know is how long before the pipe rusted for one and also do they salt the roads by you for snow ever because I feel like you are down south
next time use some Vernier's and get the right sized flex pipe for the exhaust. awesome idea great quick fix if you had of used a smaller flexi pipe and clamped it properly this fix would actually be a decent permanent option
The answer to the title is "No YOU shouldnt!", but other people who don't use a hammer drill to tighten a crosshead screw and put plastic tape on hot metal pipes can surely do no worse!!
U dont use bendable pipe fumes will most likely leak out the bentable pipe use only solid exhaust pipe. I got a dodge mini van with straight pipe and dual tip for great sound
That's HALARIOUS!!!! The amount you spent in supplies and cheap bullshit you coulda gone and had it done CORRECTLY lmfao I have seen some shit but this is up there in the top 10
if you take it to muffler shop it would have cost a minimum of a couple hundred dollars and that's only slightly ripping you off, besides it's a easy job your young and healthy and there's nothing wrong with learning how to be more self sufficient.
I constantly weigh diminishing returns. If you really enjoy lying on your back letting bits of crap drop into your eyes, then I guess it is worth two men spending most of their Saturday in order to save $50. Otherwise, I am with you two. Excellent video. Thanks.
Wow, I do hope that some common sense has been gained in the past six years. Well, that or Darwin took over. The very least you could have done. Would have been to cut off the pipe that y'all seemed to have chewed on (quite literally I must say) the day before. I didn't think one could make a Dorf thunder chicken worse than it already was. Oh Boy was I Obviously very VERY wrong about that!!
To answer the question posed in the title, in a word, "NO". Actually, "HELL NO"! Carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas, and a byproduct of all internal combustion engines, is POISONOUS. It can cause death in not so very high concentrations. In other words, it's lethal. Videos, such as this, are VERY irresponsible and the poster should be held liable IMHO. Stick to what you know, boys (not sure what that is, exactly) and leave the pipes to the pros.....
Beau Hatman I didn’t say they did. But they’re not tampering with the filtration system. As far as what they’re doing goes, it’s just noise. They weren’t under the car while it was on. So boo to you for bullying 2 kids getting their hands dirty trying to learn about cars vs tik toking.
Pretty cool you guys, reminds me of the things I would do when I was in high school. I would do anything to relive those days. Good job!

"Haven't fallen off."
Counts as a win in my book, guys!

I enjoyed this video. Two kids that are gonna be great at things.
Kool! It's always great to figure things out on your own. Real world experiences are what greatly improves your mind over others.

Famous last words before asphyxiation…"yeah, that's good enough".
😂 😂 😂
$40 vs $400 at a shop. Can't beat that.
The fact they put this video up😂 im a new sub lol
Does the flexible exhaust affect the sound quality? I just cut the muffler off my 2005 6.0 Chevy and I was think about using the flex pipes.

One day these guys are going to be working at your local muffler shop.
Puro Michigan 💪

The good thing about this is at least they’re not on the street corner dealing drugs.
The only thing I want to know is how long before the pipe rusted for one and also do they salt the roads by you for snow ever because I feel like you are down south
oh wow 😂nice job done
If you have 2" pipe, you need 2 1/8 flex.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 simple but effective

Things can only get better!
Looking back to all the questionable things I did as a teenager because of this
I have same car and used same flex pipe
I like it good job
Did you pass W.O.F
should have used smaller felx pipe and the right size clamps
The lesson in life is when you fuck up you fix it till you get it right the end
if you take it to muffler shop it would have cost a minimum of a couple hundred dollars and that's only slightly ripping you off, besides it's a easy job your young and healthy and there's nothing wrong with learning how to be more self sufficient.
I just paid 170 to have from converter back replaced, new pipe and muffler

Reminds me of my first car. Fuckin thing was a hack job.

Should you do your own exhaust work ? Yes !
But not that way.
Whatever works!
You neighbor with got cool cars . (The Benz)
Flex pipe is horrible.. No, just no
You guys had fun but now you guys going to need actual flex y pipe soon cuz it going to ruin your y flex pipe
Mate wtf are you guys doing ? You could of just taken it to an exhaust shop and welded a tip for all up 80 bucks.
Who cares man they learning. It's fun to learn and do things on your own
80 bucks my ass , just a muffler delete in fort worth is 120$
Muffler shop woulda did that for 40 in my areas
If u don't know what u r doing ask someone
Did what you have to, to stay on the road

Wow, I do hope that some common sense has been gained in the past six years. Well, that or Darwin took over.

What.an.actual.fu**.
Seen worse from a muffler shop
You can do just about anything by yourself but next time please watch a RUclips video by a competent professional before you start.
No😂
From experience simple answer, no
Chop shop
Went to a shop today and they said 750 to do the same thing. I’ll be doing this instead lol

They didn’t remove the cats. You’re making a big deal out of nothing.
@@DBIIIStudios Hahahahaha.....catalytic converters have absolutely NOTHING to do with the carbon monoxide! FAIL. Go back to school....

@@DBIIIStudios yer clueless buddy. Do the world a favor and dont work on cars (assuming you even know what a wrench is)
Beau Hatman pull the stick out your ass. You’ll be a happier person.
U cut off the muffler w/a fahkin can opener!!??🤣🤣🤣

Ok so for you guys it's a no to doing exhaust work.crazy
