I’ve seen every review of the new Integra on RUclips and this is my absolute favorite. I’m especially impressed you found the VW GLI as a potential alternative. For me, the 6-Speed Manual transmission plus the great looks that are mature and sporty (Finally a fun to drive Japanese stick shift that doesn’t look like a “boy-racer!”) It’s also quieter inside with a more comfortable ride than the Civic Si - making this car perfect for me. I test drove one of these and, just like everyone said, it was not fast enough. I told the salesperson sorry and ended up driving away in my Hellcat which is much quicker. It so bizarre, people get so hung up on names. The RSX was an Integra. In Japan it was called Integra and the only reason in America was called the RSX was due to some weird marketing ploy to have all Acura model names be three letters.
The 2nd gen Integra, which is the one most fondly remembered had 140hp, a hatch, chrome rims and cloth mechanical seats. 99% were like this. Hardly any GSR models were made. But why does every major reviewer talk as if they were all GSR with 175hp. 🤷♂️. This generation meets or exceeds all expectations but people love to complain. You miss the GSR? Look at the type S with 320hp.
I own 24 one, great daily driver with some luxuries over the SI. It just makes for a great overall car. Very comfortable and yes mine is CVT but manages 44 mpg highways.
If you have the money and like the car get it . I don’t know why people complain about this car, if you don’t like it or don’t have the money don’t get it as simple as that …
Best review on the Integra. Bar none. I was obsessed with this car. I plotted and scheme trying to come up with a idea on how to convince the misses we could not live with out one. After all we were in the market for new wheels. I watched all the reviews, ( still watching them) I checked with dealerships and finally got to test drive. An amazing 15-20 minutes. We had test drove other cars as well during the search. At the end of the day it was a Civic sport touring that came home with us. Just a few little things tipped the scale. Lack of ventilate seats. No spare. No vents in rear. While most not found in the Civic either the price of the Integra did not justify it's purchase. I still think it's a very cool car. Waiting to see what happens to it in a few years.
I test drove Acura Integra, Honda Civic Si, Mazda 3 turbo, and Hyundai Elantra N the same day. They were within my budget range. I ended up buying the Elantra N, as it has the best value. Elantra N has more power, much faster, very fast shifting DCT transmission, best 4 cyclinder sound, and the drive modes that differentiates the drivability greatly, best handling amongst them, and most fun car I have ever had (had BMW 2 series before). The Mazda 3 turbo has second best car. The Acura Integra exterior looks nice, but the performance and the feel was that of just slightly refined Honda Civic Si, but not with justifiable price. Acura should have made it at least 240 hp with DCT (Not CVT that "faked" shifting of gears!!), I was very dissapointed that they damaged the Integra name. I feel like you would get a better value with Honda Accord turbo than this Acura Integra, what was Acura thinking!!

I am looking to buy my first new car coming from a 2004 pontiac. Right now this is my top choice but I don't know how to drive manual. Why don't people like CVT?
I don't know, forget about the ventilated seats for a moment; the fact that you can even mention VW and "lower trims" not getting the 9-inch screen and other tech is the exact problem with Acura as a whole. It's a far cry from luxury, and barely scratches premium.
I think the TLX, MDX, and the smaller SUV all qualify as luxury but I agree that this and the ILX devalue the image of the brand. Why be convinced to pay luxury car prices for the same brand my neighbor got an ILX for 25k from
@@davewilson7602 yikes, just seeing you try to list them is a headache too. RDX, it's a very confusing lineup with no identity right now. G70 is laughing all the way to the bank, and if we got the shooting brake then Acura and Infiniti would be over.

I’m relatively new to this scene and with no point of reference (that is, no knowledge or experience with any previous Acura product) this car is pretty fantastic. My only gripes are the lack of cooled seats and it’s pretty low on power, even for an entry model of a luxury brand. I'm guessing all of those silly little nanny "safety" features can be switched off. For everyone whose considering getting the Integra with a manual transmission.... Get a Honda Civic Si and save about $10,000. With the CVT, the Integra does 0-60mph. in 7.7 seconds. Or, slower than the VW GLI, Mazda 3 Turbo, and the Subaru WRX. (Yes, it's slower than a stock 2022 WRX.)
I'd opt for the SI as it's 400 LBS lighter & not to mention much cheaper, The VW GLI would be an alternative pick as well. I figure if I'm gonna get an Acura Spots Sedan I might as well get the TLX.
True but dyno test results have prove Acura's tune makes more power and has a better torque curve than Honda's tune in the SI, and the weight difference manual to manual is actually around 100lbs, not 400. So on equivalent summer tires the Integra would most likely be a hair faster. Also unfortunately you wont find an SI for MSRP in most places, so I have seen used SIs going for more than the Integra top trim. As forthe GLI, its mature and refined but not as much fun as this. This is the best option for people who want an amazing manual transmission in this category.

Why do people say Acura is a premium brand? To me it’s a gussied up Honda, that’s all, with a grill I find ugly. Hondas are very good cars of course, but why pay too much? Plus, I don’t understand rev-matching. Surely with synchromesh there is no need and some algorithm messing up changing gear must be annoying.
