Beautiful scenery! Not a surfer I'm from NY. I stood up & rode my first wave in first try last time i went to Kauai but it was very small i won't lie & I just stood there no real board control. No success after that just a lot of eating it. I absolutely ❤ watching ppl with such amazing skills after knowing how hard it is to even stay on a board. TYSM for sharing your talent & trip !

I got campylobacter while I was there. It was rough as hell the next day. I was in a hotel before flying to china the night before, just curled in a ball. Such gnarly pain.

Haha got a balibelly in Bali in 1996 . Stuck in 4 days in hotel 200 pills . It was a crazy feeling 100 degrees outside. Going to mentawi next year. The old 50's reunion

I guess I get lucky when I travel to Sumatra. I never seem to get it! A lot of the Aussies and French are always dropping out of sessions because of the stomach issues. I seem to stay solid all the way through ❤

How often do you guys get sick traveling for surfing? I went on my first surf trip in Nicaragua and the entire surf camp and a lot of the town got sick at the same time. It was not so fun haha

After living there for years here is how to avoid the Bali Belly- It can ruin a trip!!!! Obviously be careful with what ice you use PLUS many people have fresh salads but they wash the veggies with the local water.....Thats why we have been trying to change things there for decades. It is not easy but it is one of the best places on earth...after Hawaii of course!!!
Koa has a totally different accent and demeanor to his brother and father. It’s like he lived on the mainland his entire life.
