My favorite board for a long time was an old G&S 7'10" - so, kind of a mid board. That thing was freakin' heavy, though. It was probably 2" thick, and baby, it hurt when I'd get tumbled. It was also a single skeg, from before they started going to 2 and 3 fins.
That thing would take a beating though. I probably spent almost as much time with Solarez as I did with Killer Bees Wax. I liked the smell, what can I say?
I gave all my boards to my sister when I moved out of So Cal. Still miss it, but closing in on 70, with a couple of gnarly motorcycle accidents under my belt (the last about a month after I turned 65), kind of slows a guy down a bit.
    Rock on.
