Loads of expats and hybrid Singaporeans like myself, we tend to call this place a home and we'll travel out to bangkok or bali to have fun. Or spend loads of time doing remote work outside of the city. However you make good points. Many entrepeneurs of asian descent will choose Singapore as its base for fiscal and cultural reasons and proximity to asian markets. And many European entrepreneurs prefer Dubai for proximity to the West and weather. Hope you have a good time wherever you get to!
Impossible to get Singaporean visa unless you work for a company that sponsor you. Other type of visa are bothersome to get (big investment etc). Impossible to get Permanent Residency if you are not of chinese culture. BUT BUT BUT, if you are into 9-5 job. Singapore is the best place. Worked there 2 years and it was awesome. It's great for Families, not so for single. If you want to spend time in Singapore, better live in Malaysia/Thailand and go to Singapore.
Check out Tokyo., Japan. The first 5 years you are not taxed on your income outside of Japan, and can sponsor your own visa by setting up a small company.
you probably need to be careful about what "outside of Japan" means - i assume if you sit in Japan & earn that money, it will be taxable in Japan - but I haven't looked into it
It is very ironic you made this video because in 2016 I realized that I wanted to leave NYC and I remember narrowing it down to Dubai and Singapore, but I ended up choosing Dubai over Singapore. In 2021 I decided to go to Dubai for my birthday and I ended up staying for 2 months and returned more in love than I went. Now I dream everyday of returning to Dubai and starting a family out there.
Would love to hear your thoughts on Cyprus vs Dubai considering the Cyprus zero % Non-Dom Tax benefit with only 60 day physical presence requirement and lower cost of living as opposed to the 180 day physical presence requirement and higher cost of living in Dubai. ( Considering a base to travel from)
