Technically, Orndorff was drafted by my New Orleans Saints in like the 12th round as a tight end/fullback. That’s back when there was 20 rounds of picks and I’m not sure if there was such a thing as rookie free agents. Orndorff didn’t made it past training camp with the Saints or the Bears, the following year. He did play in the World Football League of the 1970’s.

It was the biggest one-time mistake in the history of wrestling. To top it off, the match where they pulled the Dusty Finish(sort of) and took the title off Hogan, didn’t make Bockwinkel look strong at all.

Re the idea of a 4'11" midget wrestler: WWF briefly employed a young man named Dana Carpenter to work some TV midget tag matches. He had to have been just about 5 feet tall because ref Gilberto Roman was short and was only a couple inches taller than Carpenter.
