I just wish butch and simmons were together a few more years. Butch also had a great feud with flair in 82. faced macho man in WM 4. As I couldn't see alot of the territories back then, and mostly got my news about them from wrestling magazines, I was always interested in Butch Reed, and seeing NWA shows and he would be on the front or back cover of the programs. By the time he went to WWF, I was excited to see him, but by that time, when someone was hyped who was coming to the area, like him, or Dick The Rebel Slater, you knew they would be given a push, and maybe be big enough to wrestle Hogan, but you knew they wouldn't beat him, and would then start to slide down the card after that. (At least that was how it always appeared to me on the television programs.) So I'm really enjoying seeing all the old Mid South programs, and how amazing Butch Reed was, like that slam of Big John Studd, and matches with Ric Flair and others. He was a wrestling legend who won't be forgotten.

@@jonathanturbide2232 The problem with the way Vince booked Butch was the fact that Slick was pushed more as "the attraction" than Butch.

This is why we listen so intently to the great Jim Cornett.... nobody but nobody can tell a story or spin a yarn quite like Jim can... lol! Love those stories. 🤣🤣 RIP MR. Butch Reed.

I caught the tail end of Butch's career, but I'll never forget Doom. That was one of the first tag teams I ever marked out for. RIP Butch, I'll miss you.

I love stories like these. Just more background on some of my favorite wrestlers. Reed had a great look. Wish he had won the Intercontinental Title. R.I.P. to a legend.

Doom worked, when they got unmasked, I was like "of course it's Butch Reed and Ron Simmons" but up until that moment, I honestly didn't know who they were.

I remember Bruce Reed wrestling in St Louis. Never forget the night Bruce Reed wrestled Harley Race at the Checker Dome. That was the night Harley popped out from one of those secret doors by the hotdog stand that we were at. Got to shake Harley's hand before he grabbed a dog and soda then disappeared back through the wall.

Butch Reed in WWE was terrible. They completely wasted his ability and character. He was a great mid-carder if not main event talent...

One of the stories about Butch is him facing off with those "KKK B--------HES" in 1983 Greenwood, MS and he had an equilizer with him called "A 357 MAGNUM, WITH A 44 FRAME!!!"
MORE POWER TO THE HACKSAW, R.I.P!!
