You know this explains why know one knows him but they know of Aya. I believe Aya seeked glory and Bayek just cared about the foundations of his creed. It's probably also why the letter ends with The Hidden One

While its not very in depth, it explains why aya is known as a founder and bayek was forgotten. He took the name "hidden one" more literally than anyone else and belived you should do good without getting something in return so he decided to stay in the shadows, opposed to claiming his fame as the founder of the brotherhood.
In case you do not know, Osiris is the husband of the goddess Isis. In Origins, Bayek is a broken man, and Aya helps but him back together. His usage of Osiris as an analogy for their relationship reflects one of the most famous myths in Egypt. The god Set killed Osiris in a jealous rage, then spread his body parts through the nile. His wife, Isis, then spent the following years recovering his body parts and putting him back together. However, she couldn’t find his heart, as it was eaten by a crocodile. Osiris then became the lord over the land of the dead. Bayek is not only referencing Aya fixing him, but referencing how they were not able to be together for the rest of their time until old age because of the hidden ones. Truly poetic.
That's not entirely accurate, however. It wasn't the heart Isis couldn't find, but the penis. Osiris' cock had been eaten by creatures of the Nile - thus making the river sacred and magical - and without all his physical parts, she was unable to resurrect him permanently. In a moment of desperation, Isis used her magic to quite literally erect a golden phallus, reanimating Osiris just long enough for one last fuck. That was how Osiris impregnated Isis with who would eventually become Horus, who defeats Set and reclaims his father's throne as ruler of Egypt.

Man, this was both heartwarming and heartbreaking to hear. I loved hearing Bayek again, but it made me very sad hearing the sheer sadness in his voice. Masterfully done Ubisoft on this little piece of AC Origins.

Agh that last paragraph where he wrote of his love for Aya/Amunet sounds so heartfelt and heartbreaking at the same time. They’re probably my favorite couple in AC other than Ezio and Cristina. Makes me really, really wish we had a Bayek sequel.
ezio and cristina was kind of a puppy love, it didn’t really last long. Plus cristina had another man who was interested in her. Typical day to day relationship, didn’t last lol. Plus she was just a normal woman. Bayek and Aya were literally married, and they had a son who died unfortunately, which made them go on a vengeance mission. Plus, they’re both equally brutal warriors and assassins. Not really similar to ezio and cristina.
bayek was my fav assassin of all time. i was having goosebump since when reda strted to talk abt this legend. bayek was possbly one of the kindest assassin of all time imo.
I had chills while playing and hearing Bayek’s name from this kid. And when Eivor started to read the letter and hearing Bayek’s voice... Man. I can’t describe it.
bayek wanted to be forgotten he wanted peaceful death in the end, most human like character in the series, he rages, feels sorrow, love and a father. hes in the same level as ezios trilogy, we want a sequel.
Bro... Bayek and Amunets story is heartbreaking. 😭 They were fueled by revenge for the murder of their child and once that was accomplish they realized that, that mission, was the last thread holding their creed together. It is sad to see we didn't get a happy ending. Especially the way things ended between them and Bayeks last words.
seriously man i thought its just a letter but when i hear bayek voice it was all over i’m sad all of sudden like for real ac origins was so good!! bayek the goat! and the last paragraphs when he tell about how much he love aya man its so beauty and sad **CRYING IN THE CORNER**
God damn it. Origins was the perfect Assassins Creed and Bayek has to be one of my all time favorite voices characters and characters I’ve played in any game. I felt so noble and fierce
Me too. Bayek of Siwa, The Last Meday will be always the hero stoping evil from the shadows. He is the real assasin who deserves more and they removed him from history.
Bayek and Ezio were just supposed to be a character in a game but the wisdoms and the feels they gave us are just on a whole other level. I miss them. ;(
I love how this explains why amunet (aya) is remembered but bayek wasn't. But it wasn't because of some bullet but instead out of bayeks own choice, it was aya's too if it wasn't for the codex pages. I do appreciate the implication they got back together in the twilight of their lives, I think when the hidden ones got so big and reached out over seas they just disappeared
I was replaying origins before valhalla came out, and its just crazy to me how good it looks. individual arrows moving in bayeks quiver is always impressive to see and Egypt is damn beautiful. I wish we could of gotten more of bayek.
As fun as Odyssey and Valhalla were, I wish they continued Bayek and Aya’s story. They were the founders. And they didn’t find the order until the end of Origins.
He should've had a sequel, and I'm pretty sure they must've originally intended that. A cameo (besides this voice over) in Valhalla wouldn't make sense, Bayek would be around 900 years old. Did they ever give an explanation as to how the kid can still be alive?
When Hytham said that Their names are lost to history meaning not even He knows who they are, Is the real Assassin Belief to Work in the Dark and serve the Light. Like in Ac2 I believe There is a Statue of Aya but not one of Bayek.
Aya's statue may exist because of the Codex. Bayek surely became more cautious with his identity after what happened on Thebes, he really made himself to be lost on history.
@@TheKungas yes also remember in the hidden ones dlc aya said there will be heros that there names will be forgotten like bayek she didn't say that exactly but that's the meaning
Origins was the last ac game where I felt like an actual assassin. This game was decent, but it wasn’t an ac game, it felt like it was more just a Viking game. That’s probably why I like origins so much
Reda also tells a bunch of kids as a story the foundation of the hidden ones he don’t mention names but he talks about bayek and his wife talking and bayek putting down the eagles skull to form the symbol for the hidden ones
Damn. Dead for over 800 years, and Bayek is still an epic romantic and powerful speaker. I think we can all agree that Bayek will stand as perhaps the greatest Assassin/Hidden One who ever and will ever live. Ezio and Altair were awesome, but they didn't create the Brotherhood. They merely redefined it. Bayek was the one who created the Brotherhood. Now, here's a question: how is Reda still alive after 800 years? Shouldn't he be a rotting mummy in the tombs of Egypt by now, or is he an Isu in disguise?
i miss Bayek so much, not saying everyone after him was shallow, but he was the last one, where I could wholeheartedly support his drive such a great character

Plus she was just a normal woman. Bayek and Aya were literally married, and they had a son who died unfortunately, which made them go on a vengeance mission. Plus, they’re both equally brutal warriors and assassins. Not really similar to ezio and cristina.
@@adi14293 I don’t think they’re supposed to be comparable, just ships I really enjoy tbh. Good points though!
EXACTLY😭💔
He loved Aya till his death, that's wholesome.
This letter made me emotional, even more so with Abubakar Salim narrating this.
bayek was my fav assassin of all time. i was having goosebump since when reda strted to talk abt this legend. bayek was possbly one of the kindest assassin of all time imo.
I almost stopped breathing and my heart started to heart beating very quickly as soon as I heard Bayek's voice.
I had chills while playing and hearing Bayek’s name from this kid. And when Eivor started to read the letter and hearing Bayek’s voice... Man. I can’t describe it.
AC origins was truely one of the best games I’ve ever played, I wish we would’ve gotten more of our beloved Bayek. ☹️
Bayek's letter to Amunet.
bayek wanted to be forgotten he wanted peaceful death in the end, most human like character in the series, he rages, feels sorrow, love and a father. hes in the same level as ezios trilogy, we want a sequel.
Bro... Bayek and Amunets story is heartbreaking. 😭
They were fueled by revenge for the murder of their child and once that was accomplish they realized that, that mission, was the last thread holding their creed together.
It is sad to see we didn't get a happy ending.
Especially the way things ended between them and Bayeks last words.
Me who still played the game, and got a plan to buy the dlc add on: *Proudly Cries*
By Amun! I miss Bayek so much. Wish we had more time with him.
seriously man i thought its just a letter but when i hear bayek voice it was all over i’m sad all of sudden like for real ac origins was so good!! bayek the goat! and the last paragraphs when he tell about how much he love aya man its so beauty and sad
**CRYING IN THE CORNER**
When I say I cried when I got this, I don’t lie 🥺
Same. I felt that sadness in my heart. The ending was especially sad. He said what he has been feeling all his life in this short paragraph.
no one said you lied
Doing this quest makes me wanna go back and play origins again
God damn it. Origins was the perfect Assassins Creed and Bayek has to be one of my all time favorite voices characters and characters I’ve played in any game. I felt so noble and fierce
Why am I crying in the mead hall rn?
‘cause you sacrificed a part of your body to be reborn.
@@diezeeshoodie say what
ukulele fiend that's what Odin does in the game
Bro Bayek has the coolest voice for a main character.
This is enough to show us that Ubisoft still puts enormous amount of effort into AC lore and franchise. Respect
Just hearing bayek voice i felt like i got punched in the heart, AC games are just full of adrenaline and emotions love this games
I love this. Bayek is a great main character.
Me too. Bayek of Siwa, The Last Meday will be always the hero stoping evil from the shadows. He is the real assasin who deserves more and they removed him from history.
@@arlisceka4787 Bayek does deserve a sequel but I think Origins had a good ending.
I do appreciate the implication they got back together in the twilight of their lives, I think when the hidden ones got so big and reached out over seas they just disappeared
bayek's voice touched my heart
It’s is awesome they brought back the original bayek actor for this tiny moment of this game
Give us an Origins 2 Ubisoft!
i legit cried, this letter suprised me. i was NOT ready
When he said "I think of you often" I felt he almost cried 😢
I was replaying origins before valhalla came out, and its just crazy to me how good it looks. individual arrows moving in bayeks quiver is always impressive to see and Egypt is damn beautiful. I wish we could of gotten more of bayek.
As fun as Odyssey and Valhalla were, I wish they continued Bayek and Aya’s story. They were the founders. And they didn’t find the order until the end of Origins.
i had literal chills & i started tearing up
So finally something to give Valhalla a Visit for . Here comes the Legend himself -The Bayek of Siwa
I love how they got Bayek’s voice actor back for this game. He’s one of my favorite assassins next to Ezio and Altaïr.
I've Been Playing AC Origins Before I'd Get AC Valhalla, And This Easter Egg Gives Me Goosebumps
Why Are You Writing Like This

@@hira2812 Oh, I Like It That Way, Anything Wrong?
Man, this made me cry.
So unfair Bayek didn't get any sequel. At least ubisoft could have gave him a cameo or something in Valhalla.
He should've had a sequel, and I'm pretty sure they must've originally intended that. A cameo (besides this voice over) in Valhalla wouldn't make sense, Bayek would be around 900 years old. Did they ever give an explanation as to how the kid can still be alive?
@@brettjohnson536 Reda is an Isu.
I still love the way Bayek speaks, the way he quoted the God/Godness in his speaking, I dont know why, but even as a male, I feel the romance😁
It's all intended aya is the statue Bayek kept hidden
Well it’s a statue of Amunet really
Bayek was such an awesome assassin, I’m happy they at least referenced him in this
Origins was the last ac game where I felt like an actual assassin. This game was decent, but it wasn’t an ac game, it felt like it was more just a Viking game. That’s probably why I like origins so much
This was beautiful. His love for Aya makes me weep.
I miss him, Still Playing Origins and Waiting for Any Continuous Story for Bayek!
Best Character in My Opinion!
Reda just casually being hundreds of years old and still a child
Reda also tells a bunch of kids as a story the foundation of the hidden ones he don’t mention names but he talks about bayek and his wife talking and bayek putting down the eagles skull to form the symbol for the hidden ones
when bayek says take care, my love, my iset and the music starts playing in the background is fucking everything
Eggzactly 🙃🙃
i miss Bayek so much, not saying everyone after him was shallow, but he was the last one, where I could wholeheartedly support his drive
such a great character
Bayek will always be in our hearts
Hearing Bayek's voice is gold, after Ezio, he is one of my favorite Assassins. Also this letter hints at why no one mentions his name but people know Amunet (AYA) name, he did not want to become a legend but Aya made sure his creed lived
It’s awesome that they brought back the voice actor for this
hearing bayek's voice made me almost cry :( sad we didnt get any kind of sequel with him. by far my favourite assassins creed protagonist.
I thought ac origins was one of the best games made, and Bayek is my second favorite assassin in the series behind ezio
Everyone talking about how amazing it is to hear Bayeks voice while I'm still trying to figure out how Reda knows someone from 950 years before.
I need to play Origins, this whole set of references went over my head
You wont regret it
That was very powerful. Thank you for posting this vid.
