As someone who lives with brooms and dustpans and mops in my pantry, I feel your joy. 😂 The hardest step is definitely the first step. Just understanding that and overcoming the resistance is a great life lesson and it applies to everything. It is life changing. So happy for you. Very motivating!

Life itself can be scary. I'm 80 yrs. old with the motivation, but some issues put a damper on a lot of success. I do like you say..a little bit at a time. I enjoy your down to earth honesty. I know you are struggling with Timmy's passing, and doing your best to move on. I love you, young lady, and I hope and pray that God will guide you. I am happy that He has brought a supportive young man into your life...just keep your eyes on Jesus, and all will be well
I think it would look nice just putting everything in baskets in the top and only using a curtain under the bottom shelf going down to the floor. I’d put the curtain rod back under the board of the bottom shelf. Just an idea!

You could probably add little L shaped half shelves to the right of the brooms and mops, going along the back and across the right side of the closet. Just a thought for more storage. Get a broom, mop holder and screw it to the left side of the closet.

Funny enough, years ago watching Dr. Phil he gave this word of advise, "if you want to get something done, put it into project status!" That stuck and I have done so many projects since then, they all start with a piece of paper, pen and listing what I want done and where to start, then boom, it's in project status and I get at it. RUclips is amazing, I always say "me and RUclips did it!" Rosie is so cute her little trick is so funny!

When we were waiting for our house to be built, I decorated it in my mind and changed my decorations many times.When the house was finished. I was tired of all my dreams and had to start from scratch. Lesson learned, some dreams are a waste of time.

I watch quite a bit of youtube videos and see homes that people have decorated but I must admit I really think yours is one of my favorites. The closet turned out really well, considering it's a reclaimed wood - it looks very nice! Good use for that space and you can't beat free!
One recommendation, get some cheap hooks that you screw into wood and put them under your bottom shelf to hang your broom and mops on. You could hang all of those large items, gets them off the floor to free up more space and you don't have to move one to get to another. 😊
I know you are very happy for that closet. A single farmhouse sliding door would look fantastic. Have a great week..

Great job Stephanie, the closet looks beautiful and I’m sure you are enjoying the extra space. We can never have too much much storage area. You are so right, step out and try new things. So what if it takes you extra time to complete it, you will be so satisfied when you’ve accomplished it. I have seen been sick since Oct 6. I am the "caregiver" of the family so I have no one to help me even clean or tidy up the house. We found out my husband's job will be closing in Septemer. He just started in July and loved it. He works with boilers and maintenance. So that has me worried sick too. As for "friends" I don't have any real ones. Sure on fb it may look like it it but no one calls me or just checks on me since I went out disabled in Dec 2018. It's so depressing. It's so nice to watch you and I do consider you a friend. I know the feeling of getting a storage closet done. I have lived in my manufactured home for 18 years and finally resigned my hall closet and repainted it this past fall, it's much more functional now, and...it felt so good to get it done!!!
