Wood is the only one that's you should always invest in my opinion for the health upgrade. Otherwise your other elemental upgrades should be based on you're weapon of choice since that will boost their damage output. You just modify your gameplay slightly based on that. I ended up using a grade 4 staff because it has a wood focus will also being boosted by metal and water. Also for spell usage I found that the spells that imbue your weapon with a certain element are the most practical. Since countering elements is actually extremely important in this game and can make or break certain boss fights. I ended up almost never using the martial arts moves but that's only because my build made them counter-intuitive but if your weapon boosted by fire and earth then by all means fully lean into that side of the game. Also bows, cross bows and, repeating crossbows are extremely powerful if you boost the water element. You can essentially one shot (with head shots) everyone except the boss and mini-bosses with them. The amount of depth in this game is actually crazy the more I play the more I seem to learn.
The first boss I got stuck on is Lu Bo, cannot defeat him as of now, good to know about those sub quests. Great video in general, thanks! The game reminds me a lot of Stranger of Paradise which was one of my best games in this genre. I really hope Rise of the Ronin was a success because team ninja is awesome.
He is pretty annoying. I learned when he has his lightning buff just to kite him around until he does his red attack then deflect it to knock off his buff. I also use an earth build to deal with him. I just drop rock pillars in front of him and he always run into them lol.
What always irked me for this game is that only the player is limited to 2 Martial arts per weapon whereas EVERY OTHER HUMAN ENEMY AND BOSS AREN'T some like Zhang Liao and Lu Bu can use several different types on the same weapons
I kept calling the player character Wu Kong. It wasn't until i fought Lu Bu that i realized i was not going to be a monkey king. Im playing with a water & wood build my stealth is high enough that i can walk up to the front of an enemy and they don't notice me unless i attack them.
3 main problems I'm having so far: Not being able to parry cancel in attack animations is driving me crazy. The regular soldier enemies all look the same but have completely different parry timings. The camera and big enemies bug out in small spaces.
Ive played further into the game. Same issues ive listed above, but now I have a few more to add. The game just screams unpolished. Graphics are all over. Look at the water in the stage with Sun Ce / Quan. This has to be the worst water I have seen in a AAA game since the ps2 days. The draw distances are also abysmal. Frame rate is bad. This is a ps4 game running in pro mode. The gameplay is boring as hell. Its the same thing for every enemy, just different timings. No special counters or anything. The level design is derivative. Just large empty spaces over and over. Enemy design is non existent after the first 5 hours. All the characters are bland and have no heart or soul. Its impossible to care about any of them. With the level of depth in the Romance of the three Kingdoms Saga, this is a huge missed opportunity.

So... weapons and armor upgrading. Is the only difference between the 4 star armor and weapon drops in the beginning of the game and the 4 star armor and weapon drops on the very last level before the final boss, just the upgrade level? Because I'm wondering how do I know what armor or weapon I should start dumping upgrade resources into? Are their 'better' options later on? Should I really be dumping those upgrade resources into anything if the gear starts dropping already upgraded at +3 (where I'm currently at)? For weapons I know synergizing my build with the best scaling possible is the obvious start, but beyond that it's picking favorite martial arts and...? I'm just leery to start using these resources if it's something I'll end up regretting later on. Any suggestions on when to start building, or what to look out for?
Number of stars and upgrade level (+1,+2, etc.) aren't the same stat and aren't linked directly to one another. The ☆Star stat may have other impact than this, but from what I've observed the main difference you get from higher star number is that these equipments will have more Special Effects slots (the bonus modifiers that gear/weapons & accessories have, i.e. Spirit Damage Received -2.0%/HP +10, etc.). These effects are an important part of your loadout, so it's always better to go for the highest Star rank equipment you can get that also fit your needs. The Embedment function at the blacksmith is where you can really customize stuff to fit your build and playstyle. There are some Special Effects that will only appear on some gear that give powerful bonuses like "HP restoration on Wizardry Spell"/"Power Gain when deflecting Critical hits", inspecting new gear that you loot while on the salvage window of the blacksmith will indicate (bottom right of the screen) if any of these Special Effects can be extracted from a piece of equipment, which you can add to your inventory by either Salvaging the item (which destroys it and give you upgrade materials + the Special effect) or by going to the Embedment window, choosing an item > select embedment slot > highlighting the slot with the desired special effects and holding the select button to extract it. It will now add an instance of it to your inventory, which you can embed to another piece of gear. Different types of Special Effects can only be added to specific types of gear tho (a certain type only available for Head Armor, etc.) One last thing to note for this customization process is that the highest Upgrade Lvl an item is (i.e. +5), the higher the $ cost of embedding custom effects to it will be, so it's advisable to doing the embedding before upgrading equipment with steel/leather to boost its lvl & stats Hope this can help!

I kept constantly trying to dodge enemy attacks and when I did try to deflect enemy attacks I would deflect one of two but then get hit 2-5 more times. When I saw and heard this game was heavy into deflecting enemy attacks I was like ohhhhhh this kinda game. Looks like I may sit this one out cause I remembered how bad I was playing sekiro.
@ineedmoneysp sekiro has a cheesy gimmick that let's you smoke pretty much any enemy. Just spam the crap out of the parry button. It almost always perfectly parries. It won't work on some bosses like owl or isshin though. Those are hard skill checks.
Its broken wait till they fix it
@@MrMakingwavesmedia how so
I lose morale on bosses also. It's fukin annoying
The funnies part is when he says R1 😄 stop trollin with your meme controls bro
Wow, you spoiled almost every single boss in the game...
It seems they simplified the weapon upgrade/crafting compared to Nioh what for me is a huge 👍🏻 because it sucks in those games😮💨
Hate morale system. Makes game no fun. Especially when u die u lose it and you have to grinding all over again
I stop watching videos that use Playstation only terminology
Zar nou 5 Star
ayo
Looks very complex, but then I realized not many ways to play the game, it's just button mashing, all builds play the same, all weapons feel the same. That's why Elden Ring - Souls is still the champ.
Thanks for the boss spoilers.. there an anti-sub button?
thank you for spoiling the boss fights.. sometimes i wonder how these people have a dedicated audiences on the internet
This game is so schway
Your commentaries don't sync very well with the video. i feel that the video is just you showing off your character's power while you blabber about the other things. i have a hard time trying to focus.
This game is lame
Thx for spoiling all bosses
This, like hey, maybe only show the first couple bosses as you talk over it.
The game is trash, it leads up to a cool first boss fight in the demo and you think it would always be that much fun. But the game is giga trash
Why does this look like a Sekiro ripoff?
Bro It’s the same Dev 💀
@@Khrazegaming koei tecmo and from soft are not the same.
I dont see it but a lot of reviews compare this to that.
@@Khrazegaming team ninja and from soft are different
it’s from the company that made two great games called nioh
