I actually like The acoustic versions better cause then u get to see how good they really are and Puddle of Mudd is REALLY good. his voice is amzing, and playing that guitar at the beginning is really difficult I got a friend who is almost pro hes been playing for 12 years and he has difficulty playing it

The fact is you can't turn every song into some mellow acoustic ballad. Had they done this just as hard but with acoustic guitars, live drums, and bass like Days of the New style, it would've been a great rendition. The fact they tried to break it down into this bonfire lullaby is what makes it suck. I'm sure the record label thought that since this was one of their biggest singles at the time they should try to bank on a stripped down version. Like you said, check out Crossfade instead.

You have to realize he can't sing to his full potential or he will overpower the harmonics on the guitar. plus he is sitting down and it is hard to sing well while sitting. if you don't believe me just sing something sitting down then stand up and sing it and you will see a great difference in how well it sounds.

Gee, as I recall, Layne Staley wore sunglasses during the AIC unplugged show. . but his eyes were really messed up from drug abuse, so he had an excuse to wear them. @copeland30 Shinedown's awesome, actually, and his voice is thousands of times better live than puddle of mudd's. i'm pretty sure his voice is like...an octave lower on album. and a lot less suckier. don't get me wrong, i like puddle of mudd, i love the song. but, i'm not gonna lie, this performance kinda loses a little respect from me. and what's up with the shades? he's inside? could he be a little more obvious in the way he tries to promote image a little more than he should?
Why does everyone feel compeled to put live videos up that sound like crap just to show they went to a concert when there where also like 100,000 other people or they want to show they can play guitar so can a bunch of other peole and all these remixes when they suck and the song shouldn't have been remixed to begin with or all these acustic videos when in reality not everything sounds good in acustic
The fact is you can't turn every song into some mellow acoustic ballad. Had they done this just as hard but with acoustic guitars, live drums, and bass like Days of the New style, it would've been a great rendition. The fact they tried to break it down into this bonfire lullaby is what makes it suck. I'm sure the record label thought that since this was one of their biggest singles at the time they should try to bank on a stripped down version. Like you said, check out Crossfade instead.

saw them live last night, brought back some great memories of my dad. these guys were always his favorite, when they played this song i literally cried. thanks you guys for allowing me to remember some great times with my old man.

You have to realize he can't sing to his full potential or he will overpower the harmonics on the guitar. plus he is sitting down and it is hard to sing well while sitting. if you don't believe me just sing something sitting down then stand up and sing it and you will see a great difference in how well it sounds.

I like this song a lot but to watch this acoustic performance.... it would just be a lot better if the lead singer actually moved a bit ( he's soo still!) and looked like he was putting more emotion into it. Thought he would go fo it towards the end, he did a bit but then went still again!

Gee, as I recall, Layne Staley wore sunglasses during the AIC unplugged show. . but his eyes were really messed up from drug abuse, so he had an excuse to wear them. I also recall both AIC and Nirvana using candles in their shows. . .These guys are sooo original. . .

seen them 8 yrs ago and they were up and coming. unfortunately for them seen them at the canal fest 2k people they never panned out... love a bunch of there hits... tho the lead singer is limited ... he came here to open the tour and they only covered songs... did blurry and r now a cover band

@BPdisturbed Puddle of Mudd is a great band dude. I listen to both them and bands like AIC, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc. I know it's your opinion and I'm not here to change it. It's like me with Geddy Lee from Rush. I hate his voice, it's terrible, and most people I know disagree, but whatever.
idk why some people hate on this video...they obviously worked very hard to make this (candles,lighting,various camera angles) and i personally thought it was good, i mean sure the vocalist could've moved a little more but he did great. what a great mix of talent!
If you know anything about Wes, than you know he's abusive and an alcoholic. With him being arrested all the time, he deserves not to see his son.
Sure the family court system is flawed. But this guy has to deal with the situation HE himself put him in. Hence, why he wrote this song.
It's not that he can't sing, all did is lower the octave. When he sets it normal I will admit it is a bit off. The problem is he doesn't seem all that passionate about his song live. Thankfully, I care more about the instrumentation than the singer, so I still like this version!

guys, singers always sing differently for acoustic sets. it makes it more interesting, so it's not exactly like the recorded version. check out any other acoustic song and you'll see.

yeah, it does sound a lil weird but I came away liking this version and the way Wes sang it. His energy level went up a few notches for that final verse which is just like it sounds. the drum beats were cool. i generally like acoustics.

I don't like Puddle of Mudd personally, but this song is just so good. I wish that had made an studio acoustic version though. I prefer this sound over the version they had on the album, although that's great too.
plenty of emotion in the last 6 stanzas. if you want more emotion, look up nirvana or pearl jam unplugged. if you think the plucking that man on the right is doing is boring, then you are obviously not a musician.
@maddawg8018 i didn't mean to troll, i love Puddle. i just thought i had seen them do the vocals better in other performances and was trying to say that not all acoustic versions need to be sung a certain way. just my opinion.
@BPdisturbed Yeah, I'm a musician as well actually. And his voice is kinda nasley in this, but it's not normally like that. In the original recording his voice doesn't sound nasley. But it sounds good both ways in my opinion.

No they dont. Ive seen them live and he sings it just like he does on the album. the difference is the rest of the band is usually singing backups but theyre not on this track which makes it sound different.
