- South Africa: Ramaphosa & ANC Hunt For Coalition Partners; Advantage Zuma? | Firstpost Africa
With the counting of ballots complete, political parties in South Africa are now hunting for allies. This is because the African National Congress, which has been in majority since the end of apartheid in 1994, failed to reach the 50% mark. The ANC received around 40% of the vote. The ANC could now either negotiate a coalition government or persuade other parties to back Ramaphosa's re-election in parliament to allow him to form a minority administration. Will Ramaphosa and the ANC go to Jacob Zuma's MK party for coalition talks? Julius Malema's EFF says it is open to talks only if ANC is ready for a compromise. The opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, has also not ruled out a coalition with the ANC. Watch this video for details.

Happy with anc and da coalition
We Bless God that ANC has been voted out of majority
BT look what he did now ✊✊✊✊
I don’t think they should be voted out, just reformed
Me too
How do you rescue the COUNTRY from the owners.,.. anc mk and eff viva do not forgot what THEIR fore fathers did to you South Africa wake up
Imagine a Public Protector's office with three heads, each representing the largest political parties in South Africa. This could revolutionize our accountability system, ensuring that no single party dominates the narrative. It's time for a change that reflects the diversity of our nation! Do you agree? #Accountability #DiversityInLeadership #SAPolitics
This country needs one President and kings that is all . SouthAfricans can choose which President they would like to have for their country.not for the party.
Do you mean like how other countries have a president and a prime minister?
@@decepticon8000 Ewe,,Yes.
@@elizabethandrsu369 I see, but I only found out about it recently so it's not something that I can comment on just yet.
Coalition with the DA, ramaphosa as the president and John Steenhuisen Vice president (2nd in command). Ramaphosa gets 'bumped off' (like JFK was) and Steenhuisen becomes Sud Afrika's President. No Apartheid thought so all the coloreds, Blacks, Browns don't have to fear. that's past.
Black and white united will be best .
There is simply no better option....unity is...after all.....strength!!!!
SA looking at a similar situation Republic of Guyana had with the AFC/APNU coalition. DA is like the APNU with a minority partner win against ANC (like AFC) majority partner. However, the APNU wielded the power like the DA will, shall this coalition happened. Free Enterprise under the DA will certainly rescue Republic of South Africa (RSA) from the 'monkey Socialist" politics that always destroys a nation and it's people.
And divided by class.
@@jilokizito1705 You talk like there are no rich blacks. At least the whites help each other, which many blacks don't bother to do, god forbid the other will have more than them, and that's why it's hard for Africa to rise. I say this as an African myself.

Iam from gambia iwill happy to see Da to join ANC
You are wrong, DA work for white people only which keep black south Africans
Ramaphosa must join DA and leave ANC for Black South Africans

JEWISH ANC
Seems like most people don't understand the history of the ANC which I've written in detail in this group. But I'll take it as my responsibility to teach fellow Africans about their history until they understand.
The Union of South Africa was in 1910 and the ANC was formed 2 years later in 1912. What was it formed for? There was no racist opressive laws. Afrikaners were not in power. South Africa was ruled by England. So what was the purpose of the ANC?
I explained in why post that from inception, the ANC was a party of Amazemtiti (exempted blacks - those blacks who were regarded by England as above blacks in general but below whites). The ANC was a party to represent Amazemtiti as there was a party to represent the English and liberal Afrikaners, that party is the DA today and there was a party representing Afrikaners. Poor blacks in general weren't represent and there was no interest to represent them.
The ANC remained in this class segregational form until the emergence of Anton Lembede in the 1930s among the ANC youth ranks. Lembede together with his colleagues in the Youth League like Robert Sobukwe demanded that the ANC represent all black people. They eventually forced the ANC to adopt the pro-Africanist Program of Action in 1949. That was one year after the verkramptes took over power from the mainly English liberals. The Afrikaner verkramptes pushed hard for liberation from England on 31 May 1961. It's important to note the the Natives Land Act of 1913, one year after the formation of the ANC, was promulgated and enforced by the British. Afrikaners were not in power that time. But ANC leaders were bought houses in posh suburbs in England by the same people who promulgated and enforced the Natives Land Act of 1913 that made black people landless up to today. What does that tell you?
The problem started whe the Afrikaner verkramptes wanted to expropriate English business without compensation. That's when English Jews took over the ANC to fight their cause against the Afrikaner verkramptes. Anton Lembede had to be killed for the plan to succeed. The ANC of 1912 died with Anton Lembede. A new ANC was then formed by the Jewish English. The founders of the new ANC (Jewish ANC which is in power now) are Lionel Bernstein, Bobby Hepple, Dennis Goldberg, Arthur Goldreich, Hazel Goldreich and James Kantor. Their first recruited fronts were Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, Govan Mbeki, Raymond Mhlaba and Ahmed Kathrada.
The Jewish ANC founders mandated Lionel Bernstein and Bunny Bunting to write the pro-West Freedom Charter which will overrule and erase the pro-Africanist Program of Action of 1949. The likes of Robert Sobukwe, Zephania Mothopeng etc left the ANC to form the PAC after realizing that this no more the ANC they hijacked from representing only Amazemtiti and made it to represent all Africans. Their Program of Action was thrown under the carpet by the Mandela's, Sisulus etc. Does it now make sense why they were bought houses in posh suburbs in England?
While on the Jewish ANC, let's have a brief view on the DA. Tony Leon is Jewish, Helen Suzman was Jewish, Helen Zille is Jewish just like Jewish Soviet KGB Colonel Joe Slovo and his wife who splicited funds for the ANC from the Soviet Union. So, what surprises you when a Jewish ANC wants to form a coalition with a Jewish DA? It's birds of the same feather. The ANC merged with the National Party to form this party that is ruling as we speak and you kept on voting for it. What is wrong when they go into a coalition and finally merge with the DA?
Fast forward to Now ...
The Democratic Alliance (DA) is a party that has consistently shown its racist tendencies and lack of genuine agenda for the people of color in South Africa. Consequently, the idea of forming a coalition between the DA and the African National Congress (ANC) is utterly unacceptable. Since the DA assumed official governance in Cape Town, there has been a resurgence of apartheid-like practices directed at people of color. This is a situation we cannot afford to see replicated on a national level.
The DA systematically undermines the accomplishments of people of color while excessively praising anything done by white individuals, even when those actions are nonsensical or counterproductive. During elections, the DA engaged in fraudulent activities, manipulating results by switching off vote-counting machines, allegedly with the assistance of CIA agents from the USA. This was facilitated by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), an institution that was purportedly independent but has been revealed to be influenced by the DA’s funders, who also support President Cyril Ramaphosa.
President Ramaphosa, influenced by these funders, has been accused of planning to sell state control to the DA. It is alleged that votes were bought through secret meetings, involving substantial sums of money. The DA’s strategy extended to attempting to bribe other top leaders of the ANC, aiming to secure power nationally and act without any checks.
The South African populace has a clear understanding of the DA’s true nature, which is why they would never support the party voluntarily. The DA’s methods of inflating their support included buying votes from people in the streets and infiltrating rallies of other parties to sway individuals. Their inflated presence in the political landscape does not reflect genuine support but rather manipulation and deceit.
The DA’s policies included opening South African borders to undermine the ruling party, allowing uncontrolled immigration which stunted national growth. They exploited President Ramaphosa for their agenda, knowing they could discard him once he was no longer useful. Conversely, they attempted to coerce former President Jacob Zuma, but he steadfastly refused to betray his principles and his people.
Jacob Zuma’s tenure as president saw significant advancements for South Africa. The economy thrived, with businesses flourishing, and substantial infrastructure development including courts, prisons, hospitals, police stations, universities, clinics, bridges, and roads. The successful hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the resultant infrastructure was a testament to his leadership. Under his presidency, the black middle class expanded, and free education from primary to university level became a reality for many.
Despite these achievements, Zuma was targeted by the DA and its allies, who owned major businesses, media outlets, and controlled significant economic resources. They launched a smear campaign against him, fabricating charges and using state apparatus to harass him and other black businesspeople. The narrative of state capture by the Gupta family was one such manufactured controversy, ignoring the historical presence and contributions of the Gupta family to South Africa’s economy.
Zuma’s vision for South Africa included joining BRICS and advocating for a BRICS bank and a nuclear plant to meet the country's growing energy needs. These initiatives were misrepresented and opposed by the DA and their business allies who felt threatened by the empowerment of black South Africans and the shift away from Western economic dependence.
Under Ramaphosa’s presidency, policies that favored DA’s interests led to economic hardships. There were increased utility prices, inflated food costs, and a decline in job opportunities. Many South Africans found themselves in severe financial distress, unable to afford basic necessities or access education.
Given these challenges, Jacob Zuma’s efforts to protect South African sovereignty and promote inclusive growth stand in stark contrast to the actions of the DA and Ramaphosa. To address these systemic issues and offer a viable alternative, Zuma went on to establish the UMkhonto We Sizwe Party (MK). This new party aims to rectify the injustices and foster a fair, prosperous, and self-reliant South Africa for all its citizens.
After 30 years of BEE, it is time for policy in South Africa to become non racist already!!
Jobs should be awarded to the best qualified person for it, not because they are black or white. Or any other colour.
Are you saying those currently being employed aren’t qualified but are given jobs based on colour? You know, if you were black, female and qualified for most of the jobs on the market you’d understand why the govt had to introduce BEE. A black person without a job is different from a white person without a job. So please let’s rethink this BEE issue. I’d have voted for DA any day of it weren’t for their policies. A party with the best interests of the population should not be undoing what previous parties have been working on but rather improving on them!
@zie4453 Our lives as blacks will be from bad to worse with this DANC coalition. I've never seen coalition govt working well
@@zie4453 BEE was a good policy ......but unfortunately it has been mishandled to such a degree that it's just not working. It has only benefited a few. Cadre deployment has brought down municipalities and other government departments. As well, the education department has not prepared younger people for the job market. We have to face the truth and correct these failures.
Bee and cadre employment they only considered the blacks coloureds was incompletely ignored now she says if it changes they will not get jobs that is what is happening to the coloureds and they dont care
In order for that to be achieved black South Africans would need to get over their victim complex l. And that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
We voted ANC out dont put them back again pls RESPECT our decision pls

You have failed my friend
Da and ANC coalition makes sense. If south africans want sensible policy formulation

a@@terryoppong4420 Apartheid will never excised again in South Africa, cause in 1990 FW de Klerk asked the white majority to vote Yes or No,and big majority voted Yes to end the apartheid. If it wasn't for that vote the ANC couldn't take over. Nelson Mandela never spent 27 years in prison,he was there for only 12 years and spend his time in Cape Town in a house where he was studying for an advocate. It's in that house where Winnie got pregnant with their last born. How could she be born while he was in prison. Nelson Mandela was also not the real Mandela, the real Mandela was killed!

There would be no coalition here more than 18 parties have many questions to IEC need to be answered
ANC and Da..can form a good gvt
This must be a joke😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂thats desperation of highest order!
Khanyi is certainly only looking at minor differences between the ANC and the DA. The DA has already stated that unemployment, education, health and service delivery are the major tenets of their policies and this will be carried through in the coalition. Not the issues such as BEE. And it is totally incorrect to say they are not in favour of transformative laws. Remember more than 50% of the support of the DA is from previously disadvantaged communities. I would discount Khanyi's opinions.
What will that help if they are not willing to share the wealth and Nationalise our minds and banks??
It show how narrow-minded she is.
We never know what happens behind close doors???
The ANC works for the people, they must put their ego's aside, stop finger pointing, govern with WISDOM, work with the DA as diversity is necessary in order to take this country forward!
What has BEE done in our black communities? Please show me

coalitiion govrernment is the best thing that the new SouthAfrica can do .
DA IS THE SOLUTIONS 😂
Its gonna be tough coallition
I remember : NEVER NEVER again will we TRUST the muzungu again
But under black leadership south Africa has gone down by far
South Africa is over
As far as the Policies of DA are concerned, Zuma and Malema should try to compromise with the ANC and form a coalition.
RAMAPHOSA NEEDS TO RESIGN BEFORE DONATING THE STRUGGLE OF FORMER ANC LEADERS TO DA HE HAD NEVER WORKED HARD FOR. RAMA DIDN'T GO TO EXILE AND JAILED.
The best coalition is ANC & DA, all races matter & it's the best way to rescue the economy of SA.
I would like all the "black" parties to put all there differences and pride aside and to have fruitful negotiations for the best of the citizens of the country the same people that voted for them we are matured enough as a country to do it ❤
just hearing this makes me want to adopt the girl presenting this.
What is it with Malema and a scarf now!
I dont support coalition between ANC and EFF because is a same rotten apple there will be no difference in SA instead things will be worse than before , ANC must work with DA stop this racism , I think next time people have to choose the leader public or online this voting thing does not help us.
Fikile Mbalula is very arrogant
DA with ANC but without Ramaphosa
Just an afterthought what was the percentage of the vote per race.
If I can tell anc to chose I would do thet just go to da and work with them amen
But not in control just gatekeepers.

Ok good people of South Africa can you teach me about economy i'm trying to understand why our country is poor because this country have a lot of minerals, i always hear that Arabian's countries are rich because they have oil then i ask myself if oil is working for them why our minerals are not making this country rich or our minerals are not good? Why the Rand is weaker than the US dollar ,what mk a currency strong? Any one can teach me how is this things work i want to understand fellow South Africans.
Its a big question.. A countries currency strength is based on supply & demand and trust in the issuer. Think of it as an IOU or a promise ... you have to decide to ask someone to keep safe a valuable possession of yours and you have two people in front of you who will sign a promise (a note) to return your possession when you need it back. One is a known thief and one is a law abiding honest person. Whos note of promise would you value more?
A country is much like a business in that it might have a great product (minerals, recources etc) but terrible management and horrible staff - it is doomed to fail and become bankrupt but a business (country) with a great product coupled with great management (goverment) and great staff (motivated citizens) have a far greater chance at achieving wealth. Any successfull business owner would admit that at the end of the day, they care less about race, religion, sex etc and more about growth, sustainability and profit. If I have an employee who works hard and does a great job and benefits my companys growth & success, I really couldnt give a hoot what color they are or what church they attend. We now need a goverment which realises that its crunch time.. the days of race based politics and economic fighting & corruption are over.. if the country fails to fix the economic pit toilets, we are ALL in the sh1t and there will be no way out of the stink
Soccer geirAaaa😊😊
Under leadership of Ramaphosa everything are so bad nothing right first time ANC lose majority Ramaphosa must step down no way forward at the end now

ANC best option is the DA to bring the country to normality. Investment will start flowing into the country which would mean more jobs. Also greater benefits for the poor. Better housing, schools and health.
We must bear in mind that mk is not an option at all! No! DA is the best option OR we have to settle for the minority government in order for there to be stability and peace!

She said not having BEE is dangerous hahahaha
Better Rhamaposha works with Zuma in a coalition
I think that the MK party leader clearly stated at his press conference that his party will challenge everything in courts of law.
At no state did i hear him talking about violence".
As for the country being turned upside down, i think the performance of the MK party election result has already turned everything upside down.
Reason being is that the ruling party finds itself between a rock and a hard place as it doesn't know with which party to form a government with".
This means to me that the upside down part is the present reality, which could have been what the MK party meant.
When former president Zuma said they mustn't be provoked it appears that he meant that the election results must be transparent to everyone otherwise the court processes would be embarked upon by his party".
Now, the so called political analysts seem to be off the mark when they say that the MK party might not do very well in a re vote, something which could be the contrary as the MK party may go beyond that 50 percent mark.
They seem to be basing their narratives on what happened when Mr Zuma was incarcerated, i mean the unrest that occurred after his 15 month imprisonment.
Well, i still need to be enlightened as to whether the MK party is associated with that unrest.
It seems to me that the instigators of that unrest have appeared in courts of law and that they aren't linked to the current election result.
Now, the state security apparatuses say the MK party will be dealt with by the full might of the law should there be any unrest, which may mean that they could have analysed things in their owwn ways".
But one thing clear is that former president Zuma is very much loved in certain important areas of the country, and that more people may vote for him in the future.
Black and white combination for such a time as this😊
You watch MK.
I believe that they will join the ANC
They are the ANC. EFF also. That's where they all came from...
