Thanks for sharing the crimper deal. It is extremely difficult to get custom hoses for older equipment here. Shops only seem to carry new equipment standard replacement options (and charge an exorbitant amount in the process). I've also been told by multiple shops that their dies won't interface with the DHH hose ends I've brought to them... As a hobby builder, I might not be able to justify the free crimper, but I'm going to look into purchase prices and I'll try to assess the local demand for affordable custom built hoses. I like the potential that the non compressor creates for mobile repair service...

Interesting way you came up with this design. I took my 4044 M to the JD dealership, this is exactly the way that they installed my third function switch, and power beyond. The on off toggle switch was something the dealer could not explain to me very well as to why they put it in. It was the way the directions told him to do it. Your video explained what its useful purpose is. I spent almost $4000 to have the John Deere dealer install my third function, power beyond.
So my new question is, how easy is it to install multiple SVC outlets with this set up in place.
As an aside, I would also fear a spin off show from Dave. You may want to consider a new costume, perhaps a set of suspenders that had one green and one red or a Crocodile Dundee hat for yourself.

If I correctly understand the way you wired this, it should work as intended, but it also creates the possibility of inadvertently operating both switches at once, potentially with opposite polarities. I realize you're only switching the positive side here, and in this particular case, the valve doesn't seem to care, but supplying power to both sides of the valve at once *might* cause damage, depending on the design. A better, if slightly more complicated, solution would be to use a 3 position switch, or relay design, inline with the original switch, that would, when set to a latched on position, interrupt power to the momentary switch, eliminating the possibility of both being 'On' at the same time.

Im curious why John deere doesnt approach you about all of this. Work together making a main junction box. They realize farmer will be using aftermarket setups and 3rd functions and wiring. So Deere would design 1 - 5 series tractors with a hydraulic block. Dual 3rd function lines but plugged off. For switches they would be wired into a new handle to purchase with the additional funtions/switches. Just remove handle and plug in new one. The new hydraulic block also would reduce warranty issues and keep everything clean and neat and very organized.
All series using same block but larger machines 6- 8 series would have larger hydraulic block. Or a hydraulic block in 1 location for additional accessories. Deere license the 3rd funtion kit under deere as option too

Let’s put it this way. I’m hoping Deere does NOT offer this solution.
When they do, they take away the $$ from the small companies.
I would prefer that they focus on making the tractor better and more accessible, and allow accessory manufacturers to thrive via their open/flexible design.

Tim. Love your channel. Love your discount codes. But you say you are surprised how good a job a $3,900 hydraulic crimper does. I would be hopping mad, frothing at the mouth if a $3,900 crimper didn't do a perfect, brilliant and impeccable crimp on my hose. This is equipment for someone who sells hydraulic hoses for a living. Not "Joe Gardener and Woodlot Warrior" who never, ever needs to fabrticate their own hose. Hopefully, someone who follows your videos can and will take advantage of this. But if you're in the business you should already know and have resources lined up. Sorry for the rant. I'd love to have $5,500 worth of hose and a great crimper . .. so I could fabricate the 12 feet of hose I need for a third function. I am happy you appeal to a wide audience. And I will now retire back to my quiet corner. Don't forget us little folk love your channel, too. But, I have to say, I still like watching the additions and tweaks. Dave is a marvel to watch work.
