At 8:57 the way she sings "I used to dance" like it's just part of the song, probably an actual line in the Barbecue Monologues, but then repeats it with so much more emotion in her eyes as she realises how close it hits to home... Lauren Lopez why are you doing this to me.
Okay I liked Ruth before, but this video (along with the whole “Just For Once” scene tbh) might have pushed her into “favorite character” territory right alongside Richie (they’re still a duo as they should be!). Ruth Fleming is now best girl and I would never hang up on her. On a (mostly) unrelated note: I’m always impressed by how changes in costumes, hair, general appearance stuff (and also the demeanors/attitudes of the characters themselves bc the actors are so GOOD) can make certain StarKid characters played by the same actor look like completely different people to my brain. Especially since Ruth seemed tiny to me even before I had it pointed out here, but during _TGWDLM_ Emma never once seemed particularly short. Just something I find neat idk
