I do not know whether or not Cosby is guilty of that for which he was convicted. But, I do not believe that he got a fair trial. I fully believe that he was railroaded. He was punished for a speech that he gave to the NAACP, before he came out of retirement. As soon as he decided to fire his career back up, they took him down.

Spiro Agnew scolded black leaders for allowing a riot to happen in Baltimore and got labeled a racist for it. He was also against a giant welfare state and was further labeled a racist. This was a political shift in America as the civil rights movement put forth the idea that only government intervention could fix racial issues in America and part of that government intervention was a large welfare benefits for mostly blacks. The interesting thing is that without Republicans and their strong belief in consitutional rights you would not have civil Rights movement but Republicans became the villians of the civil rights movement as they refused to expand the state to help blacks.

Cosby is absolutely correct when he said that if we were all the same race that there would still be a pecking order. I remember watching an interview with Laila Ali when she was in an environment working with black kids. She stated that there was a problem because the lighter skinned blacks felt inherently superior to the darker skinned blacks. I worked in a multi-building data center where the janitorial staff was almost exclusively Hispanic. I remember the janitorial supervisor describing a problem in that there were different Hispanic ethnicities within the janitorial crew. Some were from El Salvador, some were from Peru, some from Mexico, etc. Again, there was a pecking order with some ethnicities feeling inherently superior and they didn't always get along.

Since ROOTS came out over 40 years ago, the Black circles l was in were obsessed with the many generations of rapes of Black women (and even Black men) and cruel lynchings that went unpunished...up until the 1990's. I have also been a victim of racial betrayal by jealous and insecure whites associates for the past 30 years. I suppose l should seek justice in a system that falsely claims a statute of limitations.
Dr. Cosby may have done what most Holywooders had done as far as the night life is concerned, but he changed and made significant contributions to American education. (The biggest difference is he slept with "consenting" adults, whereas Black victims, for the most part, had no choice. I say let's indict ALL the rapists and lynchers of the past who make claim to racial superiority and subconsciously think they are above the law. Let me get even with the racists who took advantage of me and sought to ruin me--repaying my generosity with their treachery. Do you belong to that class? Then l learned something about you. Yes, Cosby had a lot of thought-provoking and important things to say. But I disagreed with his lecturing Eddie Murphy on swearing in his comedy in the 1980s and his condescending and patronizing speech to black youths about pulling up their pants and acting respectable. He made some good points in his 2004 speech and some horrible ones, as well. While as a grown man, I no longer wear my pants like that and I believe in being respectful to others, people are free to dress however they want to and as far as his criticism on ebonics/street slang and use of the N-Word, good luck trying to tell other people how you think that they should speak, that never works.
Guess what? You're not going to get people to listen to to you by talking down to them and treating them like they're children and like they're stupid. Prior to what we now know about Cosby, I used to think he was an intelligent, reasonable and sane man-if he were, he would have known that that is not how you get people to listen to you. Did he really think that the kid in Chicago(or on the West Coast or anywhere else in the country) in a gang who feels like he has no options and no hope or those young guys on the corner in any ghetto/ ''hood''/ housing projects/projects or whatever else you want to call it, in the United States, would listen to a speech like that? I didn't sense care and concern in Cosby's famed 2004 speech, all I heard was arrogance and self-righteousness.

The beauty and the tragedy. I think many people have a shadow self that comprises their darkest impulses. Most people - due to individual morality, societal pressure, or fear of consequences - manage to keep that shadow self in check.
In many cases, especially among the rich and powerful who don’t feel ordinary rules apply to them, the shadow self comes to the fore.
In the case of folks like Cosby and Weinstein, perhaps they rationalized that women who were trying to use them for their fame, power, and connections were fair game to use sexually, even without their consent.
Of course, that is NOT okay, and it’s appropriate they be held accountable for their actions, in spite of whatever good qualities they might also possess.

The extremely wealthy and powerful stay in power by keeping people divided. All the people who testified against him were washed up old Hollywood models who would say anything for enough money, and the whole story contradicts everything everyone who worked with him on his show said about him. The media is all owned by only a few people, and they are in on it. Bribery, threats, etc. It’s not hard to create a grand illusion when people are constantly being lied to by sources they trust. Unfortunately that’s how the world works. The saddest part is that not many people will open their eyes to it because it’s too hard for them to believe.

I think WS simply created a false narrative about him because he was too powerful. They killed his son and that didn't stop him from uplifting his community. So, they had to kill him and his identity. Think about it... In, Egypt and many parts of Africa, WS came in and killed our brilliant ancestors who invented medicine, agriculture, architecture, exploration, books, and everything. WS came to our land, killed our people and identity and created false narratives. The Vatican to this day has hidden millions of precious artifacts and history from Africa. This is what WS does globally. The Muslim is one of the most peaceful and kind religions... but, since, there are 2 billion Muslims (Non-Christians), WS has to create a false narrative and kill their identity.

Though, these days I resent and dislike him, I agree. Cosby had a successful life, a brilliant public persona and to this day, how powerful the impact of The Cosby Show was, can't be over-stated enough. But he destroyed his own legacy and he tarnished the legacy of The Cosby Show.
Like you, I have immense sympathy for the sexual abuse victims of Cosby but what I never quite got and I'm not trying to be crude or crass here, is why it never once occurred to Bill that if he wanted to cheat on his wife(and I'm not condoning that) and if he wanted to be a womanizer, one, that if you're rich, you can get women to sleep with you of their own free will, regardless of what you look like or how old you are and you can do it without having to drug them(of course, not that you should do it, anyways).
Look at Hugh Hefner, how many of the women that slept with him do you think really liked him or loved him or cared about him and were sexually attracted to him? For him, being rich, influential and famous was all he needed to get the women that he wanted. Maybe Cosby would have been a sleazy lothario-type like Hefner if he took that route but at least, he wouldn't be breaking the law and he wouldn't be a convicted sex offender and he wouldn't be where he is right now.
Look at guys like George Clooney(before he was married), Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Warren Beatty(before he was married), Derek Jeter(before he was married), Richard Burton, Lemy Kilmister from the Heavy Metal band, Motorhead, Bill Wyman formerly of The Rolling Stones and on and on. They knew that they didn't need to drug and sexually assault anyone.
If you're rich enough, famous enough or good-looking enough(or all three), you'll be able to find women who will willingly sleep with you.
Again, people can say that that would have made Cosby look sleazy and whatever else but hey, as I said before, he wouldn't be breaking any laws and he wouldn't be in prison.
I'm surprised Cosby never thought of it this way. He didn't have to do what he did. Many of the victims are on record saying that they didn't find Cosby attractive and that they weren't sexually attracted to Cosby. Cosby could have just found women who were willing to sleep with him because of his money and fame. I don't like him but it obviously worked for Donald Trump-I can't picture any of the women Trump has been involved with-including his own wife, giving him the time of day, if he weren't rich, famous and powerful. Those women wouldn't touch Trump to scratch him(to use Catwoman's line from Batman Returns and funnily enough, Trump does look a bit like The Penguin) without his his riches, fame and success. So,Cosby could have done this a different way without breaking the law and drugging and sexually assaulting and violating these women. But he destroyed his own legacy and precipitated his own spectacular fall from grace. You make choices and you live with them.

If a president trips or makes an innocent faux pax, it’s instantly relayed furthering peoples dislike. None of the media outlets have discussions, just hit jobs and gotcha tactics on both sides. I can’t stand it. Put on FOX or CNN and it’s like two different worlds are being watched. I watch Brett Baier on Fox and Jake Tapper on CNN. Both seem reasonable (slightly right and slightly left in coverage) but that’s about all I care to see.

1:57 Same thing Cosby said about Amos n Andy and white audiences is what Dave Chappelle said about season three of his show and why he walked away. White people don't understand this. Black people can see when you're laughing with us as opposed to laughing at us. The pixie sketches...the blackface...that shit was going back towards minstrel type comedy and Chappelle could see that. So he walked away. There's a price tag on your dignity. Some (***cough Steve Harvey cough***) seem to have a much much much higher number, sadly.

To suggest that all people are doing X because of their skin color is the definition of racism.
I've never laughed AT Chappelle. He was a comedian, and he was very good at it. This was the reason for laughing. His Tyrone Biggums bit was nothing short of profound.
He wasn't forced to do any type of sketches. He did what he wanted, and he stretched the boundaries of television. He is still a major force in comedy, and his stand-up is superb.
And if I'm allowing white bigots to exist, then he's letting the bottom of the black barrel to exist as well. I can do my part to change society, but I cannot control others, and I am not an authority over anyone else.
