But when Bretman isn't busy taking over the world, he's snacking on some iconic snacks from his childhood in the Philippines. Thumbs up if you think Filipino snacks are elite!
YASS!
these ain't Filipino snacks. Filipinos eat baby green mangos and fish paste. On gawd. They ain't need your fkin corporate snacks.
Love these snacks. Seafood city is the best place to shop for these snacks for me in cali. Love me some pillows and dried mango 😋
Sky Flakes remind me of those times I would grab a box of saltines out of the cupboard along with some cake frosting and a butter knife.
who is the dude
Those Oishi pillows are no joke! They are also available in Indonesia and my favourite is the taro flavoured one!
Oh my gosh. I’m not sure if it is available anywhere else, but in the northern part of the Philippines (just specifically the northernmost part), they have the Orange & Cream Pillows, and that is my favorite! Now I want the Taro one! I need to go back to Indonesia again as soon as I can and find that!
The purple one? That's ube flavor not taro 😄
Yeah, i think it's ube flavor not taro
same but it's ube actually
Itu ube kak btw bukan taro
When he talked about how up-tier Philippine mangoes are, I felt that! I haven't tasted any other mangoes as good as what you get there.
Hi mabs!
I once had mangoes in Mexico that was so, so, SO good…..only to find out that they were exported from Guimaras Philippines. That explained everything. 😂😂😂
I love how the snacks are tossed to him and he would catch it flawlessly. 😂 The added throwing and catching made the video a whole new level.
@teleegrammeFirstWe_Feast 🤖🗑️👎
I was kinda hoping it would somehow land on his face and would want some funny reaction from him
He looks so stunning in this video, literally glowing wow
The biscuits as Filipino funeral food is so true ☠️
They have them by the buckets 🪣
Thing I like most of Filipino snacks is that they don't overload them with preservatives. Once you try American snacks again you'll realize how much of the snack is actually flavor and how much of it is the preservatives
u sure?
FR... moved to USA (i'm from central Europe) and in most of foods i taste chemicals...so I'm very limited with food i can eat.
@@MyuNeptune some of those chemicals taste good ngl lucky charms are simply delicious
Lol then come to Sweden 😂😂😂
Salt is a preservative
MSG up in heereee
he should have been the global ambassador to the Philippines to be perfectly honest AHAHA he really brought out the top tier filipino snacks. you know he really ate all those snacks by just how he described eating them like the local badbitch that he is ❤🔥
For real! Why choose someone who didn't recognize her own roots before she was assigned as the ambassador, right?
they actually mentioned it somewhere and he said he dont support BBM… so no
@@drylvlncok and? That does mean anything
I’m Indonesian and I literally eat most of these too 😂 so, so good
I freaking love Bretman, he is so animated when he talks about literally anything lol
Literally Philippine mangoes are up-tier. I’m not even joking, Miss Universe 2016 candidates even flew back to Philippines just to have it again.
He represents the islands so much he brings it up every single time and I love it
Chocolate Pillows(I prefer them cold) + Sour cream & Onion Piattos are top tier picks.
cold pillows?? interesting! i only always have them at room temp lol. might try cold pillows someday :3
Yes! I’m filipina American. I like chocolate pillows but the Ube ones hit the spot. I like boy bawang but also wow kasoy. I like choc nut but also not my fav. I had sky flakes when I was young but then couldn’t find them as often and moved to magnolia or Goldilocks snacks. I found them again recently and I got so much nostalgia. Filipino mangoes are so good and sweet. Love filipino snacks, wish there was more Ube
Yeeeess. A friend of mine brought some back and safe to say…I’m obsessed with ube😂 It started with the snack crate my gf got and that particular month was the Philippines lol
Lemon square ube cupcake
Funky, Pods, Choco/Milky Knots, Cheezy, Mr. Chips, Mang Juan, Rebisco, Quake, Barnuts, Clover are just some of the snacks that hits right home.
Some of the snacks such as Pillows and Piattos are available in Indonesia, and Bretman's right, these are so delicious 😍
Glad you guys could try our snacks! ❤
Yes, I read it somewhere that Universal Robina, the maker of Piattos, also sells their products to other countries in Southeast Asia.
“Girl, I could feel that in my cavity” 🤣😭
Cause it fills faster than actual fillers. 😂
Since Bretman has an Ilocano Word of the Day, there's one term he said that I should share & highlight to our lovely non-Filipino viewers:
Sari-Sari store - a convenience store/retail shop equivalent, but more focused on a community level. Sari-Sari in Filipino means *variety.*
The languages in Philippines sound so pretty.
Variety is an understatement. My Lola is still doing business as a sarisari store vendor, and she has everything. From food, to beverage, to alcoholic beverage, to medical supplies, to school supplies, to art supplies, and she even used to operate her own telecom prepaid load service. Nowadays she is to old to keep stock of everything, so she reduced it to food and beverage.
Not Brent apologizing to the camera after yelling at it🤣😭😭
i agree with Bretman, philippine mangoes are the best, i tried several varieties and it just disappoints me cause i'm used to sweet and juicy mangoes not bland ones
Bret is so natural and that open heart surgery line is so funny hahahaha
I'm Indonesian and the Pillows and Piattos are sold here, I LOVE the ube flavor for dear life 😍😍😍
HOWEVER the Piattos flavor sold here are DIFFERENT; we have BBQ, Grilled Beef, Nori Seaweed, and Cheese for the regular, and Indonesia-exclusive flavors like Sambal Geprek (Chicken Smackdown's Sambal Spread), Sambal Matah (Balinese-style Raw Chili Sambal), Iga Penyet (Smashed Beef Ribs), Ayam Goreng (Traditional Herb-infused Fried Chicken), and I believe there's new flavor which they collaborated with a chili flakes condiment brand where their garlic-infused chili flakes are used as a seasoning for the chips
oh my god the exclusively indonesian flavors literally sound so good!! it's such a shame they aren't available here in the philippines
Ohh the indonesian flavor sounds good!!
I'm a straight guy, but I love watching bret, he is such a vibe. He can make everyone smile with his authenticity.
_Philippines has the best mango!_ YES! Loved this video. I've only had the Sky Flakes and dried mangoes, the red and blue bag from the PI. Love that Bret is from Baguio and speaks Ilocano... as was my mom, who didn't really believe in snacks_or dessert._ If we wanted dessert, it was always a banana or a mango.
I thought his roots are from Cagayan, not Baguio…I think he meant he just first tried dried mangoes there.
Funeral food in the Philippines is very true 😂😂
That mango snack is fire!!!! It's quite expensive here in Malaysia
Don’t worry, they’re also quite expensive here in the Philippines HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
LOL dried mangoes are so expensive that we don't even buy them as snacks. We buy them as pasalubong (gifts) 😂
Thank you for having Bretman!
And thank you so much for featuring filipino snacks!
I really appreciate what you guys and Bretman did here with the filipino foods 'coz it somehow showcases our food internationally.
Thank you so much!
God bless you all!
PerRiiiOooodDdtttTttt!..
He’s been doing lots of press. Love him for that. Can’t wait to read the book
I'm a Latina and looove Skyflakes. The best to this day!
I know one Latina who loves it too.
"If you can open this without breaking, you can perform open heart surgery. Rumor has it" 😭😭😂😂😂😂
4:48 He wasn't lying about Skyflakes being the quintessential funeral biscuit on the snack table along with the sticks of 3 in 1 coffee 😂
Philippine mangos is top tier. No lie on the Sky Flakes. My mom always seem to have a stash in her purse to break out when we complain we’re hungry
Awesome to learn about new snacks!
Sour cream Piattos is really top tier!
I’m not yelling at you, I’m yelling through you
I forgot to mention last time I really like the shopping list at the end recapping all the snacks
I'm so jealous that Philippines have sour cream n onion piattos. We Indonesians didn't get tht🥲
I loooooved pillows growing up as a kid ugh you’re right the way they MELT 😭🤤
Filipino snacks tend to have harder plastic like those are ready for a bunker. Heavy duty but hard to open unless you grab some scissors, I know this 'cuz I grew up eating V-Cut & Nova in my highschool days.
Shout-out to my fellow Pinoys out there!
“Im yelling through you” got me hahahha
"Why am I yelling at the camera? I'm so sorry." in the next breath, "NEXT!" 🤣
It’s called mental illness. It’s a disease.
Bro, Philippines also has those Pillows in ziplock packaging but you can only find them in supermarkets, not in the neighborhood convenience stores. You should try Sponge, they also have them in ziplock packaging. They taste better than pillows, they're dry but for some reason they're kinda moist and cold once you put them in your mouth. It's like magic.
crying over the ilocano representation 😭
I saw Bretman in the thumbnal and clicked to watch immediately. When Bretman's on, you know it's gonna be hella fun.
bretmans personality is huge. been watching him for a long time and always makes me laugh. thanks for gettin some ilocano words out there lol
huge in what sens ? annoying as f*ck ?
Her*
@@Naltddeshadoes bretman go by different pronouns now?
Nevermind I found another comment of yours and you just being weird
@@nikkixo6334 ye and ye
I have no idea who this person is but I know one thing for sure i'd give him ALL THE SAUCE!
Pillows ia so gooood, the purple taro flavour is my favorite
At this point I think it's an instinct to melt pillows in our mouth before chewing it 😭🤣
The Skyflakes Condensada served in funeral is so true HAHAHAHA
Please have him be a guest on hot ones❣
That Oishi Pillows used to exist in so many flavors like ube, peanut butter chocolate, etc. Now in Vietnam they only have it in chocolate and coconut. Upsets me for a very long time
Let's appreciate globalism that gives us this content. I am a FIN 🇫🇮 born and raised native 🇸🇪 SWE speaker who moved to CZ 🇨🇿 and I am watching a US 🇺🇲 production about 🇵🇭 PH snacks! Also the host has family from IE 🇮🇪
I even eat pillows with milk like cereals. Tastes even better after you keep it in the fridge before eating.
you can tell that He hasn't visited ph in a while cause those pillows' packaging is what we have now, for big ones.
And he said they were 5 pesos 😭
yeah and he also said it was 5 pesos before, i remember it being 8-10 pesos in my childhood and im 19 now 😂
Born and raised in the Philippines, these snacks defined my childhood up to my teen years.
i also love the sour and cream piattos !!! 😆💚
no bretttt ph has that resealable pillows now lol
I've had like sweet popcorn snacks before here in Jamaica I don't know if the boy Bawang is sweet or not but I have had microwave popcorn that's the closest that I've gotten to the actual popcorn snack aside from the sweet popcorn
Boy bawang is a savory snack! Very garlicky lol bawang is filipino for garlic so it literally ntranslates to garlic boy
@@Rosa-mj5mt I didn't know that
@@mlggamer5296it’s very delicious tho. If you’re a garlic person it is just a bag of heaven
It's actually more similar to corn nuts than pop corn 🌽🌽🌽
i didn’t even know that filipino snacks can be made in america LOL but i can only imagine how different they must taste compared to the original
I love all of them too! Plus Granny Goose Tortillos, Nova, Clover, Ube Langka candies, Lala chocolates and many more.
Looks good ill try it all one of the best clips for 2023 Bretman Rock💪💜💪
We just cannot hate him 😂😂 bret is amazing
All of the snacks featured are purely Filipino! Thanks Bretman for being proud Filipino. :)
ohhhh i hope we get a hot ones with bretmaaaan
Pillows costing ₱5 a pack. *cries in inflation* 😢
I LOVE PILLOWSSSS 😭😭 ITS SO GOOD AND THOSE PIATTOS ❤️❤️❤️
I do love Piattos alot, its my favorite Filipino snack (get the sourcream & onion, not the BBQ). They are a bit different from normal chips, think Pringles but in a bag, truly genius. However I dont agree Filipino chips are more heavily flavored than American or EU. I think its the same flavors, same intensity. Thanks for the video! :D
I’ve just gotten only Sky Flakes! I love the sweet butter flavour
Let me hook you guys up on some Polvoron! It’s a Philippine TREASURE! So incredibly good haha. I love being Filipino
They had that brand of Phillipine Mango at Costco! Not sure if it's still there, but we were buying them all last summer.
I LOOOOOVE the chocolate pillows but I like the Overloaded brand and prefer the white chocolate flavor.
😂I literally have almost all of those in my pantry right now (sky flakes, piattos sour cream, choc nut, boy bawang) naimas! Ilocana here represent lol whoop whoop
🤣 ya made me laugh! 👍🏻 yay
Whoop whoop 💓
why is no one talking about how beautiful he is like I’m in awe
I love the UBE flavor Pillows 😍😍😍
I agree about the philippine mangoes! They're the best.
Philippine Mangoes are the best. He's not lying. It's different, it's sweeter and has less medicinal flavor?
Guimaras mangoes are the sweetest in the world
Ah yes choc nut and bar nuts are my favorite talaga 💖 haven't eat this two chocolate nut for awhile even though its just near me💖
You find skyflakes at the funerals because your loved ones are heading to the sky
Can we please get a recipe video for all of us hot ones recreators?? I really want to make some but not sure how much to use. What cooking style??
you should try eating pillows with milk, it's the best "cereal" ever!!!!!
I'm trying it because you said it.
hahahaha did you like it?
my favssss huhu reminds me of my childhood
so pretty!!
I'm not Filipino but oishi pillow is pretty popular in the whole South East Asia i guess
can someone make a song with all the times BRETMAN provided us with voice talent... HE CAN SING
I stan the 7D brand mangos
Thank you Bretman for eating the snacks unlike most guests.
Bretman, if you like Pillows you should try Loaded 🤤
Hany Bars are so much better than Choc Nut in my opinion, i was obsessed with Choc Nut til my aunty introduced me to Hany 🤪
imagine if they were able to get at least one of the type of snacks or sweets sold in provincial buses as pasalubong
I love bretman!
thank god we also have that pillows and piattos in Indonesia
Bretman Rock is AWESOME!! 😍
Bretman needs to do Hot Ones next!!!
You slayy all that Filipino snacks✨
I'm 10% Filipino and I feel these snacks in my soul and those snacks are totally my vibe
ya should buy and try it. they're very tasty!
I thought Bretman was going to include Ricoa Flat Tops. My New Zealand friends always asked for me to send them huge 400-pc bags.
It started with me giving them a 20-pc bag each for dessert when they visited me here and then they would have another everyday until they would occasionally crave for it once they returned back home. They said it’s not as smooth as Belgian chocolates but Flat Tops beat Pringles with its slogan.
Yes! Philippine Mango hands down!
There's another flavour of Pillows which is coconut flavoured, best thing ever, ate that all throughout my Vietnam trip
I've never seen that and I'm from the Philippines 😯
I only know chocolate and ube flavored one's.
@L It's the bestttt, we only have chocolate in Singapore too, only found it in Vietnam so far
@@aeriensha Never heard of ube one's before 😮
@@imrank9282 We have ube flavored in the Philippines. It's delicious too and taste just like ube.
Never get tired watching my girl 🥰
Lahat yan fav ko dinnnnn❤❤❤❤
“Love funeral food.” 😂
