Hello, From my calculations Sodium 14-16 Olefin is around 83% actives and C Betaine is around 30% actives making a total of of surfactants in a 300g batch 75g and therefore a total actives amount of 38%! the usual recommended amount of actives for shampoo is around 12 to 14 or 16 if emollients are added. Have I got my sums correct here?
Hi Artcrafty, the sodium 14-16 Olefin I used is in liquid form the active matter is around 38-40% active, the Sodium 14-16 Olefin you are talking about is the powder form.
@cookingfest304 if you want more lather you can reduce the amount of the emulsifier also the oil too. Example you can use from 0.2- 1% emulsifier wax for 100grams batch For the oil you can use from 0.01- 0.2 for 100gram batch. Hope i answer your question.
@dianao HI, yes you can use E- wax and Germall plus but you will have to play around with E-wax if you want a thick creamy shampoo or not too thick creamy shampoo you will have to use less E-wax I hope this answers your questions.
@Zaraawals you can not substitute baobab protein with rosemary extract the both offer different benefits but you can add rosemary extract if you want too.
