Gordie Howe International Bridge is a six lane bridge with a width that accommodates future expansion to eight lanes, while still including a pedestrian trail. It will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America and will also set the world record for longest composite steel and concrete cable-stayed bridge deck in the world.

This was the BEST video yet of the Gordie How.We.Doin? Bridge by Mike.A.DroneMaster! Better Top.Notch.Shots of the Top.Tier.Cable.Holes than anyone else's drones, that's fer sure, eh? Big M.Anthony better get them little drone.puppies ready for the Meet.Me.In.The.Middle action within the next two weeks! We will all be here for the day Canada meets Big.Brother and the trucks start rollin' across! HOO-RAH!!
That's very kind of you Gilbert! I will definitely be there when the two sides join with extra batteries fully charged.
Hats off to the guys on the tower gantry. Them’s some nerves of steel, looking at the tiny area to work on. 👷♂️👏
I don’t know how they stay up there all day long.
I work in thaat kinda area - altitude in Indonesia, it is the same, because I don't have wife. Widower, nothing to lose.
My balls would be in my stomach!!!!
So close. Looking forward to seeing the final sections of the span going in soon.
Holy Bridge over International waters Batman !! That’s some awesome flying ! 👏🍁🤙
Thank you Blueman! 🙏👍
I could NEVER do that work way up on gantry! My knees get weak just watching. Great work people!
Imagine being up there all day.
@@michaelanthonyvideos I would love that . Different strokes for different folks !!!
@@jameskelly6152 True. What a view.
So cool, taking pictures of people taking pictures, hey, thats my hobby!
Thank you for these videos. They're a part of history, for generations to come .... 👍
My pleasure James!
Excellent video! I would like to see exactly how the mainstay cables are both attached to the tower and deck. The mechanical connection if possible. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
great bridge, great workers, I can't wait to see it. that guy on the tower has my vote
Thank you for watching!
Awesome. Thanks so much for sharing this 👍😎🚧
My pleasure, thank you for watching!
The gordy how international bridge is my favorite bridge
BEAUTIFUL video and explanations. And with your capture of the tower, one may see the next to last stay they’re installing, and holes for one more set - presumably on either side of the bridge piece.
Thank you 🙏 very much! One more section to go!
Outstanding! The music was nice and relaxing.
Thankyou Daniel!
A beautiful bridge made even more wondrous by the U.S. and Canada working together.
Thank you for watching the video!
What an impressive engineering feat! The construction of the massive amount of infrastructure, roadways, etc. is equally impressive. I hope they have lots of landscaping planned.
I'm sure there will be a lot of new landscaping, and I know from an inside source that there will be some along the bike path on the bridge.
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!!
Thank you so very much!!
Thank you Chris! 👍
Building bridges on one border and walls on the other.
Yah one group has been demonized for wanting to come to the USA for a better life to do the work no American would ever do.
Nice folks up North, best of friends as far as super countries go!
Apples and oranges!
Canada knows bridges.
Epic! Maybe your best content yet MA. Thanks for posting.
Thank you GRB! 👍✌
great that you presented the folks that actually make a project happen. not a construction worker myself but have enormous respect for the folks that earn a paycheck in that line of work. nicely done. i'll be back.
Thank you!
Form and function! Awesome video
Thank you!
Can someone explain the cable stay process as it relates to anchoring. Where are the cables first anchored and to what? How are they anchored in the tower? I will assume they first are anchored on the bridge deck, then fed up to the tower, through the other side of the tower, down to the other side of the bridge deck (nearest the beginning of the bridge deck) and anchored there? Is that correct. Exactly how are the cable anchored?

Me too! 😊
Fantastic cinematography. I see a woman at work? Are there many?
Yes, there are a few.
Also, may I suggest for for your next sound track, Alan Parsons Eye in the Sky, Sirius!
That’s a good choice but there would be trademark issues.
how hard will it be to put together the last sections on both sides of the bridge ..will they expect to slide right in or a little bit of persuasion...like have to spread out the last sections to fit ...?
Good question.
220 meter quite high, Indonesia suramadu 150
Surprised no guardrail on the tower platform.
True, but the guy is wearing a harness and fall protection, he's tied in from his back, you can see it at the 1:10 mark, the guardrail would just get in the way!
@@ChrisSeliga - That's a bungee cord for a final Thrill Jump! 😄
@@gilbertfranklin1537 I've heard workers refer to it as the yo-yo string!
The bridge is now 85ft. Away!
Very close!
Are the cables post tensioned?
Good question.
have the ironworkers hit a puck, kicked a soccer ball, thrown a football or baseball so as to traverse the the great divide?
er, the not-so-gret divide
😃🤐👍👍👍

🙏👍
Please don’t finish it.
More interesting to watch it being built!
I feel the same way.
You guys are all nuts!
Apparently, Canada lost the coin toss in the bridge naming contest ?
I think it was a Canadian who came up with the idea and Gordie Howe was from Canada.
@@michaelanthonyvideos Exactly. It was David Bradley, president of the Ontario Trucking Association, who first proposed naming the bridge after a Canadian hockey player who played for the Detroit Red Wings for 25 seasons and helped the team win many Stanley Cups. The bridge's new name was a no-brainer for both countries. Gordie Howe himself thought it sounded pretty good to him.
@@Milnoc In late 2010, David Bradley, president of the Ontario Trucking Association, proposed naming the bridge in honor of Canadian professional ice hockey player.
Looks like those guys were getting pissed off you getting so close to the top of the bridge. He got on his phone and called on you. What permission do you have to get that close to the workers? Just curious
No...The Mackinaw bridge a longer cable span.
The Mackinac bridge uses a different cable system.
not a cable stay bridge
Since 1902, Zug Island, as you pointed out @ 2:15, has been melting iron ore. It has been an environmental waste of Gods' land for all that time. To people who give a damn, it has become an embarrassment to the state of Michigan, and for that matter, the entire country. What a view for visitors coming over from Canada. When you do come over to the U.S. to visit, just close your left eye.
It’s a nasty place.
Imagine, trump opening this bridge. Someone should start a petition.
go, canadien
