I'm a baby boomer & so was my husband. We actually understood what socialism in America really is, in fact this country was most stable, most prosperous was when we were most socialist. Take a look back in our history, when we share with others, in our families, in our communities, in our cities, in our states, in our country, in our hemisphere, or anywhere on this globe we become stronger, better, and more respected. We build trust with those who need our help and who will help us in return. Anyone with a heart and half a brain can figure this out for themselves. What does that say about the Republicans that they fight against this so hard?

My mother wanted to see Ana in person (she loves her). I traveled from Minnesota, picked my mother up in Louisville and we went to see Ana at Politicon in Nashville. I was there when Ana delivered a tall glass of Whoop-Ass to Tomi. That was fun. Other fun notes: Kyle's Meet-and-Greet line was as long as Sean Hannity's (who failed to show at his Meet-and-Greet) and Kyle's line was like 50 times Governor Weld's. People, you gotta go to the next Politicon. That was my first and it rocked.
When my mother went to UC Berkeley in the early 1960's, tuition was free (for her, as a California resident).
I’m 49 and a total beneficiary of US socialism. I attended a well funded rural public school. My house protected by fire service. I served in the military and receive benefits still. Then I joined a labor union and enjoy the efforts of many strong workers before me. So yes, I’ll vote for a Democratic Socialist and you should to.

FOR THE EMPEROR! True Clay was very biased which was very unfair to Tomi, because he debated Tomi rather than letting Ana debate her. She must have felt a little under siege. I do however think Ana does her research and is able to articulate her argument well. By the way, I never criticised Tomi.

I thought Tomi responded, “Who decided that?” Like she wasn’t in favor of free high school. Erm, excuse me, tax-provided high school.
As a European I find it annoying that Norway and Sweden are always presented as examples of socialism. Conservatives have the majority in Norway at present. Social democrats only have majorities in countries south of Paris. Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France etc. have right wing governments, but I do realize that our right wing is seen as left in the US for the simple reason that your republican party is extreme / hard right wing, very close to fascism.
Conservatives in Norway are *way* to the left of the US Democratic Party. Bernie Sanders would be a centrist in Norway. Even the most far-right party in Norway is unequivocally in favour of universal healthcare and welfare policies that are "radical left" in the US.
The policies Bernie advocate, which are the one's Tomi Lahren calls "socialist" are policies straight from the Nordic countries, many of which are supported by Scandinavian conservatives. In that regard, the comparison is spot on.
If Tomi Lahren wants to call public university socialism, then it's perfectly fair to point out that Norway and Sweden has it. When she calls universal healthcare socialist, it's perfectly fair to point out that Norway and Sweden has it.
She's the one obsessed with throwing around labels. We're just following up her nonsense by referring to it as "socialism" for simplicity sake, instead of starting a tedious quibble about terminology.

Yes, it is true. Our right wing government supports health care too, it is seen as a human right, but not in the same way as social democrats. We have not had social democrats in our government for a few years, which resulted in less social benefits.Nevertheless our social system is still great.
@@janluchies8611 All these political labels are rather loosely defined, and there's no distinct line where social democracy begins or ends. That being said, universal healthcare, public universities, strong unions and social programs are all concepts deeply anchored in social democracy. But it is true that some European countries have shifted right in the latter years, many with rather poor results.

Tomi Lahrens closing statement was pretty fun and tells you all you need to know about her.
She made passive-aggressive comments like: "others will call you a bitch but i would never do that". She sets the bar extremely low and still barely manages to crawl over it herself. And then she still takes pride and considers herself a decent person.
Maybe it's just a social circles kind of thing. If you hang around with complete monsters you might think anything slightly less despicable makes you a good person.
She memorized all the talking points from the MAGA encyclopedia. She didn't give much context to her points and tried really hard to paint herself as a victimized patriot.

@@sandyv123 I respectfully disagree. I have been to the doctor twice in 15 years. Once for a blown MCL, and once for Dengue Fever. I know many that have similar records. I also have a couple family members that make it a point to go if they feel there "arm felt weird this morning" or whatever. So why should the bill be split? I can count on both hands the amount of prescriptions I have had in the that same timeframe including basic Z-Paks. Yet again I have family that walk out of the pharmacy every two weeks with a wheelbarrow full of pill bottles. I would also like to mention the ones who made choices that create conditions that require medical attention. I realize that some (very few) obese people have little to no control over their issue but the majority are preventable conditions. I have an "alcoholic" in my family. I personally believe that is a term many use to avoid having to admit a lack of discipline, but should that expense be placed on others who don't drink? How about smokers? Drug abusers? Prostitutes? I just don't feel like those should be paid for by others. Unfortunately we live in a society that fosters not only those mentioned but ones that use medical treatment or ailments strictly for attention. And again unfortunately there is no way to draw hard lines in what is "real" or what is "preventable" etc.
@@sandyv123 The second part is also a legitimate question. I will admit I haven't read Bernies Bill simply because I disagree with the entire premise, but I am a veteran covered under the VA. Is there any verbiage in the bill that would exclude veterans from having to participate in single payer seeing as they already have coverage they earned based on service? And side note... if you would like to see how well government run healthcare performs swing by a VA hospital. I sat in a wheelchair for over 30 hours when I blew my knee up. There were WW2 and Vietnam vets that walked in, signed in, and unrolled sleeping mats and set up shop in the waiting area because they knew it would be hours as in 12-18-24 or more before they even spoke with the lady at the window.
