This is legit a whole other song at this point. The original had a kind of energy and pacing to it that made it feel bouncy, even though the lyrics were somewhat contradictory to that. This enhances the darkness to the lyrics, the feeling of blaming others or hating himself, flip-flopping between the two because he can't make his mind up on who he wants to blame. And the bit where he talks about speaking just makes it even more dark. Even though this is totally different from what Oliver originally said the song meant, I feel like what I said is what this version feels like. ... Course I'm no music expert, I just like listening to music to drown out the depressing noise in my head. :D
