yay!! shield-based combat is full of headwinds, but I'm super glad you appreciate my attempts to 'swim upstream' (please excuse my mixed metaphors haha). thanks for your comment & feeling encouraged!!
First guy is kinda funny in a way, he totally knows how utterly busted his character is. They could nerf all of his stuff by 30% and he'd still be meta, lmao.
Would love to see you test out some magic resist speed build vs locks. Im thinking dashing boots, dark leather legs, barbuta, ornate jazerant, torq soul necklace. these are all unpopular pieces that are usually underpriced. Dark plate gives more armor and mr than jazerant, but also steals more move speed. Those pieces are still heavier than your current setup, so it might not work and you probably also need to look for pieces with agility rolls. Maybe supplement with quickness rings and an adventure cloak. Would also recommend the swiftness perk if you can afford to let go off one of the shield perks.
Apparently, having a minimum of 16 will so you have 1% debuff time reduction will remove the final tick of all dots. It's very useful against warlocks or any dot, so since fighter is 15 (neutral) in all stats, any will anywhere will get you there. Will also increases your buff durations and magic resist, so it's a great anti-magic stat because it will naturally extend sprint and even second wind buff durations. Darkleaf Boots are very underrated
Love your videos man, laughed irl a bit at the slowed down 'I'm infinitely faster than you' flashback. Very cool to see some new interesting builds tried out
Will is a stat you might want to include in this build - Will gives Magic Resistance, Buff duration and Debuff Duration. Running Templar Armor is a nice middle ground between dark plate and light aketon Leather Leggings also have a super good armor-movespeed ratio and give will Leather Gloves give both dex and Will Visored Barbuta is a decent choice for helmet for will stacking, but I still personally prefer a lighter or more armored option like Chapel or Topfhelm depending on solo vs teams Will jewelry is dirt cheap aswell, especially with phys modifiers - Ring of Resolve with True Phys + debuff is practically free. You can get some pretty ridiculous numbers of buff/debuff duration if all your pieces focus on Will + Buff + Debuff duration Plus all of them are relatively light and are very cheap.
This is the second of your videos that I have seen and I love that you're continuing the "showing progressively more capable/experienced enemies" in your PVP matches. IDK as soon as I hear that, it keeps me curious and I end up watching the whole thing. It is nice to have a frame of what more experienced players look like as someone who only gets to dabble in DaD when life permits and would likely never get to spend the hundred hours in the game that I would like. Again wishing you continued success with your channel!
hey thanks for checking out the channel, and for your feedback on the 'crescendo' of content being a captivating format. I definitely feel lucky to be able to put so much time into this game, and am glad to hear that this content is interesting to others :) good luck in your adventures & hope to see you around!
problem with the build is the Massive Gearscore increase in carrying multiple weapons/shields Where your gear wouldnt normally break 125 GS but because of the weapons rockets you to 300+
hmmm could always just grab common versions of the buckler, mace, and rondel? (keep the arming sword as rare or better) I wonder if that would keep the GS
glad to see someone out here doing the work of the gods slaying these heretics. they're everywhere, like half of my lobbies are warlocks every match and its so boring
Ah man, those first couple minutes... Pure trauma. That trash talk is exactly why I'd play with mic off even if I wasn't recording. I'd be so demoralized. Seeing you turn the table on them was definitely satisfying, but it seems like responding to warlocks requires 10x the effort vs what the warlock player themself puts into learning their class. I'll end that thought there though lol - should avoid getting negative and thinking "balance balance balance!". Thanks for the tips! These are definitely applicable for us barbs as well.
filming for this vid was definitely a test of my patience and mental health haha.. but lots of fruit came to bare. glad you think it's a help & wish you good luck, fuzzy buddy :)
Hey just a little light in a dark time. The devs have said they are really focusing on matchmaking and arena before they hone in on PvP balance. I think I agree that the arena would give some really good statistics on balance. Super frustrating but it is on their radar! Small teams need to allocate resources wisely
Im playing diffrent fighter, kinda a mix from top 3 duo fighter build and my own tweaks, but I still watch your videos as i love the mood and vibe! Keep it up!
Hey, big fan of your videos. You have inspired me to enjoy shield fighter because you get to counter most of the things your opponent does. I would like to recommend a build that I am not sure you have tried. I know you use the flanged mace for the armor penetration but how about using the arming sword with armor penetration rolls in weapon/armor/shield/etc. I would like to see you try this build and see how it does in the dungeons. This would mean that you stack dex and armor penetration. The rest of what the build has is up to you. I found that 31 dex is the sweat spot because the stat starts decreasing in value after that if I am not wrong. Maybe 31 is a little overkill but it feels nice to counter with that amount of dex. It would be interesting and entertaining for you to try it. Actually, you should try stacking armor penetration in the flanged mace too. I do not know how effective this can be but it sounds like a fun idea in my head. Looking forward to more videos!! I will try to catch that upcoming stream!
hey thanks for the thoughtful reco! interesting to think about how much dmg the arming sword could do with some armor pen layered in... after all, it is my favorite sword to use! will keep this in mind & give it a try sometime!!
hey thanks for saying so! DaD is really such a vast game, and I'm glad you can find some entertainment in content related to a class you don't play. happy Friday!!
You were recommended to me in the forums. I like your style. Gravitated to the mace myself. It seemed like a no-brainer. Trying the longsword out but it doesn't feel right. Probably will go back s/b style after today. Also. Warlocks suck to try and fight... Most the games I join are lock/cleric/Rouge and it's kinda anannoying... Feels like 75% of people are playing those classes and it should say something to the dev about balance issues. Hope the fighter gets some love soon. Probably wont play other classes It's just my style of fantasy. 😢
sounds like we're on the same page!! super glad you found the channel via some recos, that makes me feel good :) hope the content & other helpful folks around here help you improve. s&b is 100% my jam (well, mace too!) and always happy to meet like-minded people, welcome!
thank you for this, im new and still only doing 24 gs, but i used what you have said.. and am now successfully hunting these runaway losers Video was fast, and directly to the point.. and i really apricate the work you put into it.. liked and subbed.. the breakdown vids showing you blocking spells and hot swapin gear and such really helped me out alot
also, i been questing on my fighter recently and have been having lots of fun, lots of PvP. been also trying out the longsword, id love to see you give it a try in a video.
You may want to prioritize more Will for your build, it gives buff/de buff/MR so even though you don't need the magic power from it you are getting a lot of value for what you are trying to do here. Also Will items are very cheap
You forget that there is always movement speed on light gountlets, Leather gloves are ok, but light gauntlets are superior. Templar armor is also a good option.
@@YourBoyBlinn Leather leggings have very good Armor contra Movement speed penalty ratio, Will gives both Buff and debuff bonus, compensate strength and HP with two cheap Grimsmiles.
Warlocks are the bane of my existance on melee characters, if you haven't yet seen, i recommend watching dimo's video on his fighter build, its rly good
i main melee warlock, was never a fan of the caster warlock playstyle of kiting with curses. i think they should nerf the caster aspect without touching the melee aspect
hey thanks for the comment! I've always thought other aspects of warlock were 'tough but fair' i.e. BoC, demon form, etc -- since I have a chance at blocking the strike(s), or could use spacing to wait it out. it seems most people just have issue with the 'infinite cast' mechanic and players seem to abuse that with super high movespeed.. can't blame players for exploiting an obvious 'loophole' in the game (players cheese other aspects of DaD all the time!) so it really comes down to IM and the power they have to recognize how unfun the mechanic is for the majority of players, and do something about it. lots of people have great suggestions for plausible courses of action, and will be interesting to see what happens. again, thanks so much for weighing in from a melee warlock's perspective & happy weekend!!
Imo, demonlock is so cool that I don't even care how strong or weak it is. It's just cool. I personally don't think casterlock is as broken as people say it is. It's just dead boring to fight.
@@Slanderbot crutches are necessary in this day and age, I get it. And the figher class is basically all about gear, so what can you do. Still, I wonder if simply running around with the rondel would do the trick
Revenge is a dish best served cold! Was the build profitable in the end though? And it would be nice if you would scroll more through the numbers when discussing a build.
sashimi warlock!! heh hard for me to say if the build was profitable for me, since I was buying all sorts of different pieces/kits during the work-up and testing raids. but there was a few good hours where I only died once or twice, and had to offload a bunch of gear to other mule characters to sell later (takes a while to process the marketplace pieces, and I had editing to do! haha). I'm optimistic that this build could be utilized by a decently skilled player to turn a profit, especially since many of the pieces/traits required are off-meta and not very expensive to purchase in the first place. and by "scroll more through the numbers" do you mean the character details/info panel? just want to make sure I fully understand your comment so I can optimize & improve next time!! appreciate your feedback :)
i recommend kiting with survival bow at longer range than they can handle and if they mess up positioning you can go in melee and usually win if they didn't tickle you enough before
Simple solution for Ironmace: give warlocks spell charges rather then health costs. Then they at least have a non infinite resource to manage but still have unique class identity in their leech healing, dark magic spells and perks.
interesting, but I wonder if that would encroach on the mechanic of wizard.. it's nice that the warlock can cast from something that isn't 'charge-related' but seems like the issue is hit damage + tick damage, or the ultra fast projectile that almost acts like a hitscan
I’m pretty surprised how under the radar things seem to go like this, also you can solo every boss pretty much on easy mode with Warlock. You can just run around inferno and hellfire train everything. It just seems pretty poorly thought out. Warlock got the first solo kill on Wyvern which I think while still impressive is just not at all surprising.
haha yeah.. I hear that, but careful that you too don't become toxic as a result of encountering toxicity! play from the shadows, but stay in the light brother
First clip had the same experience solo in ice caverns just ran in circles the whole time with mobs any hit i landed would be healed by the time i caught back up. Yet my duo parter who is lvl 65 warlock cant dream of making plays like this.
I see you use flanged mace a lot. Do you ever consider switching over to the morning star instead with its slightly higher damage and the much bigger sweet spot for 100% damage? It's a bit slower though. also for some reason the morning star always kills the mummy spiders with 2 hits instead of 1 I'm not sure why.
I know what you mean, but I get pretty focused on melee attacks and rushing down the warlocks.. don't like to give them space, and plus I can't block their curses with a bow!
perhaps! but tbh I'm les confident with my ranged ability and wanted to see how much buckler+dagger combo did in terms of move speed. also the survival bow can't block curses! haha so running with my buckler is also a comfort because it gives me a blocking option in the event the warlock turns and starts casting. I've still got lots to learn!
@@YourBoyBlinn yeah and swapping would slow you down so you would have to give up the melee chase and switch into straight up ranged combat I see. Thanks for the response!
as a druid idk how you 1v1 locks ..... you get cursed before getting in range , the chunks alot and then they win the melee. if you try to bear build you leap in and then they pantomize, given that druid got nerfed alot idk how warlocks didnt. them not being able to heal off pet would balance them so much , make where they cant just tempo advantage you to death as everyother class needs to heals slowly
wish I had some advice for a druid player vs warlock.. but alas I've never even tried to play druid once haha :( only reco would be try that holy strike spell when the lock is in phantomize, since they are more susceptible to magic damage in that form.. keep me posted if you have any successes or more tips for other players!!
if you ran rapier and sword mastery instead of dagger and barracade you'd gain 5ms but lose out on the armor/magic resist.. or could drop counter attack
I'm having the literate opposite problem. When I play fighter I do great but when I take Warlock I just get stomped in PVP. Constantly running around and spamming curses is just not fun for me.
@@YourBoyBlinn I hear you. But I am having 2 problems atm. One is that I am playing below 25 gear score exclusively (because my real life friends want to play that in order to not get stomped by geared people) and I feel Warlock is pretty hard to build with just squire gear. The second problem is if I run full melee Warlock then I have no ranged options and I just get kited :D So I am trying to build some kind of hybrid build but so far it just feels like a weaker fighter. I was trying to build a Platelock demon build but I feel that doesn't really work well with squire gear. p.s. Another awesome video as always! p.s 2.0: Congrats on your first stream! I hope you make it big!
Also, nerf caster lock by increasing the multipler cost to like 5 and above. That way they can still burst you down with fast cast but they have to be wayyy more catious since they'll lose 10+ hp per cast
that's a good question, I don't understand how the buff duration bonus extends sprint specifically, but since sprint is indeed a buff, it gets extended in some way!!
@@YourBoyBlinn I ran an 80%~ buff duration build and you get longer in each stack - I had 11s~ of sprint, with each stack lasting 4s~. I was also running adrenaline rush which lasted for around 14s (and the drawback is affected by debuff duration I believe). It also works with Taunt. The only thing I'm not sure of is if it affects Counterattack and Adrenaline Spike - buffs are blue, debuffs are red and perk effects are yellow on the hotbar. Even with a significant amount of my gear invested in buff duration bonus rather than typical desirable stats my abilities being so strong really helped make up for it, though with a build like this getting caught without them is a lot scarier. Buff Duration Bonus also enables a build you've probably never seen used - Dark Offering Warlock. I watched a video on it recently. Dark Offering deals 10% of your max hp per second of use, but gives you 5% physical and magical damage bonus, and stacks up to 10. It is a channeling ability, so you can go up to 10 stacks or cancel the ability and it'll start the cooldown. The damage buff lasts 15s and is refreshed every time you get a new stack, but the cooldown of the ability is 28s. If you build enough Buff Duration Bonus and Resourcefulness, you can have a brief window where your Dark Offering buff is still up and the ability itself is off cooldown, allowing you to refresh your +50% damage bonuses with just 10% of your HP. You have to pay very close attention to your cooldowns and be patient with mob clearing and players so as to not lose your stacks, but the result is hitting 200dmg halberd headshots. Longsword & Falchion are also good (probably more consistent) choices. The minimum build stats are 36 Res and +60% Buff Duration which gives you a 1.5s window where you can refresh your Dark offering; 38 Res and 70% Buff Dur offers a 3s window. You do need a lot of meds in solos though, especially if you're inexperienced with the build - Shadow Touch and Vampirism help to offset this, as does Demon form - the lifesteal ability lasts longer and has a lower cooldown too, though the amount of life steal is 5% (max of 30) of the target's max HP, so you can also use a Kris dagger. Your Dark Bolts in Demon Form also hit like a truck if you use them while Offering is up - 69% MDB with no other investment and you can also theoretically use Soul Collector to get them up to +169%. There's also the Hydra Drain route; the bonus will scale your life drain's damage, though the scaling on this isn't too good without True / Add Mag. Overall it's a really fun, really high maintenance build that you'll probably never see that focuses some of the least used stats. Oh, and having higher resourcefulness also makes you interact with things insanely quickly - 82% regular interaction speed with 36 Res and zero Agi investment.
@@chadwick6857 holy crow my dude, thanks for the extensive reporting & insight on buff duration! excellent to have someone with experience weigh in on how it impacts sprint and other Fighter skills.. also super interesting to read through your recos on Dark Offering Warlock. sounds a bit finicky for my level of skill with the class currently (basically none, haha) but I absolutely love to hear about ways players have found to work with the dynamic system and make builds that are both logical and impactful. Kudos to you & thanks for sharing your knowledge here!!
out of curiosity, what do you think would be the benefit of a discord server? just another place for people to hang out and leave messages? I don't have much experience with using or managing discord and want to get an idea of the use cases before considering the investment of time required to set it up & curate the server.. thanks for any insight you can provide!
@@YourBoyBlinn to share builds mostly, idk could be another way for your channel to grow. a place for loyal fans to hang out and get notified about your videos. ext
prolly one of the worst aspects of the game rn IMO -- but luckily there is still a way to damage then as a non-caster class. I think also phantomize would be less of an issue if wizards were stronger (particularly in solos). but! when wizards were stronger, everyone was complaining about their magic missile machine guns, so... haha
by sweaty do you mean high-level? ..or do you mean combat where one or both players are trying hard? should players not try hard when fighting each other? LMK what you mean so I don't get it mixed up. generally I suppose different aspects of the game will appeal to different players.. PvE to me for example has a pretty low ceiling of what sustains my interest (mostly because the AI is so basic). fighting against skilled players is one part of this game that is super dynamic and totally sustains my interest!
@@YourBoyBlinn Before I rip into your game, it was a nice video and you're very good at showing examples and explaining stuff succinctly. Idk, man. If you rewatch the first clip and can't see how awful that looks to a new player then I think you should take a break. The movement all compounds into this meta of being naked and I find that to be really stupid for a DND/RPG game where you should be able to make your own class and not have to abide by what others are doing. I set out to play 2h DPS cleric but I'm just at an extreme disadvantage if I wear full plate. If you're not half cloth/leather then you're getting kited into oblivion, and you'll still die to naked 2H warlocks 75% of the time.
@@shoeby9273 Nah bro its actually the other way around, you literally complaining your dumb build dont work in a YT comment section, fix it or go touch grass. Complaining here wont do anything. And if you think it looks dumb that people are whiffing attacks and spacing each other out then you REALLY dont know anything about hand to hand or blade to blade combat AT ALL... That stuff you see in ALL melee combat games, whether this, Mordhau, Tekken, Street fighter, UFC, A LITERAL STREET FIGHT and so on...
Man warlock is so OP... says fighter mains... literally the hardcounter to your class is warlock lol... If you can literally kill your hard counter consistently, then not its broken and its well balanced for the most part... IMO. Only thing that may need a nerf is phantomize since its just a badly designed ability.
haha yeah, everyone's got a perspective on the game based on their main character POV. and it's had to have a 'fair' gaming experience when there are significant class disparities and especially in a solos environment (where the game was not originally intended in the first place!). agree that phantomize is poorly designed, and agree that being able to overcome a hard counter is some indication of a kind of balance in the game. thanks for your comment & good luck out there!!
@@YourBoyBlinn Thanks for the kind response!!! I dont main warlock currently, used to but just swapped to Bard, as i wanted to try something new and been loving it. I just think this community online is all doom and gloom on game balance, when really it isnt that bad, the game is super fun and balance isnt even the most important thing. But yeah its easy to get clicks with "most broken build" or equal meta click bait. Honestly the balance could wait somewhat, what the game really needs is UI overhauls. Everyone i've tried getting into the game, quits because it's not intuitive and you basically need a homie to hook you up with the info or figure it out over a long time yourself, which most people dont want to do with basic UI. And a tutorial too that is playable not a book/video.
The issue is neither of us can kill each other half the time bc they just run away for 5 minutes. They curse me, I use a pot and disengage for a moment. I catch them, they phantomize. It’s just not a fun interaction playing tag for half the match as opposed to pretty much every other 1v1 in the game. Platelock and hybrid aren’t too bad for the game but caster warlock is just unfun for everyone involved. Warlock needs a spell cap like wizard/cleric/Druid. Being able to infinitely cast spells is broken, if it was a limited amount that would force an engagement bc you have to capitalize on the spells you have used in the current pvp engagement.
Nah, all comes down to knowing when to engage, dissengage, kite(yes even as a fat 270 you can kite) and ambush. The only thing i want to be looked into is the mosquito rogue, its just annoying and toxic you totally depend on the rogue getting greedy and going into melee range, if not, you will have to deal with a parentless scrub that farms dopamine in normal against low gear people and to stalk high gear people into leaving the match. Literal cancer and toxicity based way to play the game and as 3 friends of mine who quitted the game gave as a reason why they didnt liked it
@@zaikolebolsh5724the problem if you are a fat 270 kiting a lock, is that he controls the fight. He just needs a single curse on you and you start to bleed while he gets replenished. If he ever gets really critically hurt, he can completely disengage go away put down a hydra drain it and come back to harass you. He will never ever commit he will just keep bleeding you and sustaining himself until you are dead. Unless you have infinite arrows and infinite health pots that sustain you atba higher rate than him, then ge should always win. Also the lock just needs to put a single curse on the person and he will deal damage over time even without having to expose himself in line of sight. The fat 270 can only hit the lock when he has line of sight. Also having hitscan vs projectiles is a huge advantage. Should he try to all in the lock just has to kite and bleed him.
Warlocks are bullshit, you shouldn't need to have to take off your armor to catch up to people in this game, or even be able to while moving in the first place. Can you tell this is early access by a bunch of amateurs? Lol.
you’re not wrong but that doesn’t mean that the base game isn’t extremely interesting and captivating. not to mention they literally lightly touched on everything the player base has been complaining about just this morning.
wholeheartedly agree the game is extremely fun and captivating, warts and all! I've never been a part of a game from this stage of early access and witnessed so many pre-release iterations first-hand. it's awesome, and yes sometimes frustrating. but as you say, super super fun! good luck in your adventures!
i love how you spend 30 min theorycrafting and overthinking only to prove that superior positioning and movement is what wins in the end. fight 3 being the perfect example. the "overpowered" class can't even get to you while you pelt him with arrows and the several second demon transformation + exploitation strike gives you like 10 free hits before he just falls with literally no ability to counterplay - I'm sure he'll enjoy the game even more when the next patch drops and warlocks gets another nerf for the 12th patch in a row because crybabies like this can't adjust their playstyle "wym I can't just press sprint and hold down w+mouse1 :'(("
thanks for watching the vid! yes, part of my theory crafting and overthinking included notes on how to use positioning, and then demonstrated that! not every clip is going to require using every weapon or strategy -- in the case of platelocks who have no ranged option, a super effective strategy is to chip down with ranged before going in for melee. learning to take advantage of the several second transfrm animation is not intuitive and I used to run from warlocks during that time, so this is another useful thing for other players to see IMO. hope I'm not coming across as a crybaby, and instead wanted to explain how I can/did adjust my playstyle to overcome the various advantages I believe warlock has over fighters in particular!
What's rough is the meta of running around half naked and being un touchable. The game has all these cool armors and its more beneficial to run naked and be fast, its dumb

awesome, thanks for the feedback & happy weekend :)
Will is a stat you might want to include in this build - Will gives Magic Resistance, Buff duration and Debuff Duration.
Running Templar Armor is a nice middle ground between dark plate and light aketon
Leather Leggings also have a super good armor-movespeed ratio and give will
Leather Gloves give both dex and Will
Visored Barbuta is a decent choice for helmet for will stacking, but I still personally prefer a lighter or more armored option like Chapel or Topfhelm depending on solo vs teams
Will jewelry is dirt cheap aswell, especially with phys modifiers - Ring of Resolve with True Phys + debuff is practically free.
You can get some pretty ridiculous numbers of buff/debuff duration if all your pieces focus on Will + Buff + Debuff duration
Plus all of them are relatively light and are very cheap.

Where your gear wouldnt normally break 125 GS but because of the weapons rockets you to 300+
hmmm could always just grab common versions of the buckler, mace, and rondel? (keep the arming sword as rare or better) I wonder if that would keep the GS
glad to see someone out here doing the work of the gods slaying these heretics. they're everywhere, like half of my lobbies are warlocks every match and its so boring
happy to help where I can!!
Damn warlocks really require ALOT of work to counter
truly exhausting, but makes for a very satisfying victory if you can get it :)
Keep it up!
hey thanks so much, supper appreciate that!!
I will try to catch that upcoming stream!
hey thanks for the thoughtful reco! interesting to think about how much dmg the arming sword could do with some armor pen layered in... after all, it is my favorite sword to use! will keep this in mind & give it a try sometime!!

hey thanks for the encouragement friend! happy weekend & good luck in the dungeon!
I have never played Fighter and probably never will, but I just love your videos. Your theory crafting and approach is very fun and interesting
hey thanks for saying so! DaD is really such a vast game, and I'm glad you can find some entertainment in content related to a class you don't play. happy Friday!!

I find stacking buff direction helps catch up with sprint. Cheap gear just 50% turns sprint from 6 sec to 9 sec.
wow three extra seconds of Sprint sounds really powerful! and cheap too! thanks for the reco :)
Man I love your fighter videos!!
hey thanks so much
You were recommended to me in the forums.

You may want to prioritize more Will for your build, it gives buff/de buff/MR so even though you don't need the magic power from it you are getting a lot of value for what you are trying to do here. Also Will items are very cheap
an excellent suggestion, thanks!!
exactly the video i needed ty
hey my pleasure!! good luck out there!!
I use the pavise to counter warlocks. Shield bashing them into their crowd of angry fans is just so satisfying.
hmmm the pavise you sayyy.... hmmmmm?! >:)
Whether or not it’s balanced, it’s crazy that the devs think this play style is fun or enjoyable for people to have to play against (commonly as well)
yeah, I know different people have a different view of what is fun, but it does make me wonder the same thing!
You forget that there is always movement speed on light gountlets, Leather gloves are ok, but light gauntlets are superior.
Templar armor is also a good option.
excellent points! plus the templar armor looks more the part of a warlock hunter! thanks for the recos!!
@@YourBoyBlinn Leather leggings have very good Armor contra Movement speed penalty ratio, Will gives both Buff and debuff bonus, compensate strength and HP with two cheap Grimsmiles.
One thing to note on dashing boots- if you get max movespeed and +2 agility they're almost as fast and cheaper than lightfoot with +movespeed
yeah, I had never looked close at dashing boots and was super surprised to see how fast & cheap they were!!
@@YourBoyBlinn plus you get armor!
Warlocks are the bane of my existance on melee characters, if you haven't yet seen, i recommend watching dimo's video on his fighter build, its rly good

@@YourBoyBlinn yeah, very similar to what you were cooking at the end of the video
i main melee warlock, was never a fan of the caster warlock playstyle of kiting with curses. i think they should nerf the caster aspect without touching the melee aspect
hey thanks for the comment!
I enjoy demonlock as well, significantly more than caster.
Imo, demonlock is so cool that I don't even care how strong or weak it is.
It's just cool. I personally don't think casterlock is as broken as people say it is. It's just dead boring to fight.
Your build is even better than you think. Resourcefulness also grants you cooldown reduction further increasing the uptime of sprint.
oh snap! the hidden benefit of Resourcefulness! what a sleeper stat that is :)
Interesting tips. Running three melee weaps and two shields at once is kinda crazy tho ngl
the fighter class in a nutshell, it used to be much more extreme than that too. Full inventory of wep swaps lol
@@Slanderbot crutches are necessary in this day and age, I get it. And the figher class is basically all about gear, so what can you do. Still, I wonder if simply running around with the rondel would do the trick

Revenge is a dish best served cold!
Was the build profitable in the end though? And it would be nice if you would scroll more through the numbers when discussing a build.
sashimi warlock!! heh
hard for me to say if the build was profitable for me, since I was buying all sorts of different pieces/kits during the work-up and testing raids. but there was a few good hours where I only died once or twice, and had to offload a bunch of gear to other mule characters to sell later (takes a while to process the marketplace pieces, and I had editing to do! haha). I'm optimistic that this build could be utilized by a decently skilled player to turn a profit, especially since many of the pieces/traits required are off-meta and not very expensive to purchase in the first place.
and by "scroll more through the numbers" do you mean the character details/info panel? just want to make sure I fully understand your comment so I can optimize & improve next time!! appreciate your feedback :)
i recommend kiting with survival bow at longer range than they can handle and if they mess up positioning you can go in melee and usually win if they didn't tickle you enough before
yeah I should work on my bow & spacing skills more, thanks for the reco!!
I also main Fighter and must admit i have extreme issues against Warlocks and Druids. Its a grind to find a way to fight them
I did too.. carrying the buckler has really really helped vs Warlocks :)
Doing good work out there I have been hunting locks myself
yes! power to you my friend!!
Warlock got the first solo kill on Wyvern which I think while still impressive is just not at all surprising.
hunh, didn't know that about solo Wyvern, impressive if not also an indication of something else.. ;)
I thought that debuff duration bonus only extended debuffs on enemies. Not reduce debuffs on yourself
learn something every day!
I don't think many people realize you can block curses . I wish I had videos like yours around when I first started playing
yup yup! I remember feeling super empowered when I first learned that!
you need to do something special for lantern shield to actually light?

Sometimes, I'd give anything to teleport next to someone toxic that just beat me in a game to punch them out or die trying.
haha yeah.. I hear that, but careful that you too don't become toxic as a result of encountering toxicity! play from the shadows, but stay in the light brother
First clip had the same experience solo in ice caverns just ran in circles the whole time with mobs any hit i landed would be healed by the time i caught back up. Yet my duo parter who is lvl 65 warlock cant dream of making plays like this.
hah! too bad for your chances in Duos then :) tanks for the comment, made me smile!
I see you use flanged mace a lot. Do you ever consider switching over to the morning star instead with its slightly higher damage and the much bigger sweet spot for 100% damage? It's a bit slower though. also for some reason the morning star always kills the mummy spiders with 2 hits instead of 1 I'm not sure why.
morning star is awesome, but I find I need the faster swing speed and more regular attack pattern of the flanged for my personal tastes!
Stack some true dmg! Rondel surv bow with true is cracked.
this is an excellent reco!! can't believe I overlooked that!
Does buff duration actually work with sprint? It doesnt have a duration but instead loses stacks every x seconds.
I'm not exactly sure how it works or is applied, but since Sprint is indeed a buff, I have to assume it will be impacted by buff duration bonus!
just something i noticed in your fights i dont think you use your bow/crossbows enough they could definitely help against warlocks
I know what you mean, but I get pretty focused on melee attacks and rushing down the warlocks.. don't like to give them space, and plus I can't block their curses with a bow!
Warlocks can just heal off you
I enjoy your content sir.
appreciate that very much!!
LET'S GOOOOOO!!! NEW BLINN VIDEO!
GET READY FOR THE WEEKEND BUDDY >:D
For warlock fight 2, would it have been better to switch to recurve bow while chasing?
perhaps! but tbh I'm les confident with my ranged ability and wanted to see how much buckler+dagger combo did in terms of move speed. also the survival bow can't block curses! haha so running with my buckler is also a comfort because it gives me a blocking option in the event the warlock turns and starts casting. I've still got lots to learn!
@@YourBoyBlinn yeah and swapping would slow you down so you would have to give up the melee chase and switch into straight up ranged combat I see. Thanks for the response!
@@MrHeorhe you got it my guy!!
as a druid idk how you 1v1 locks .....
you get cursed before getting in range , the chunks alot and then they win the melee.

them not being able to heal off pet would balance them so much , make where they cant just tempo advantage you to death as everyother class needs to heals slowly
wish I had some advice for a druid player vs warlock.. but alas I've never even tried to play druid once haha :( only reco would be try that holy strike spell when the lock is in phantomize, since they are more susceptible to magic damage in that form.. keep me posted if you have any successes or more tips for other players!!
if you ran rapier and sword mastery instead of dagger and barracade you'd gain 5ms but lose out on the armor/magic resist.. or could drop counter attack

Dead warlock that disappeared 35:36 in the corner by the second light.
DAHHH my loot!!! haha
I'm having the literate opposite problem. When I play fighter I do great but when I take Warlock I just get stomped in PVP. Constantly running around and spamming curses is just not fun for me.
hmm why not try aa melee warlock / platelock build? lots of awesome ways to make a hard-hitting kit that could be fun to try (and not rely on curses?)

How does buff duration affect sprint? Curious.
Does it affect the 2 sec charge drop?
Also, nerf caster lock by increasing the multipler cost to like 5 and above. That way they can still burst you down with fast cast but they have to be wayyy more catious since they'll lose 10+ hp per cast
that's a good question, I don't understand how the buff duration bonus extends sprint specifically, but since sprint is indeed a buff, it gets extended in some way!!
@@picpopstudios5288 an excellent reco!

Sweaty PvP encounters in this game make it look so corny and unappealing.
How?

by sweaty do you mean high-level? ..or do you mean combat where one or both players are trying hard? should players not try hard when fighting each other?
If you're not half cloth/leather then you're getting kited into oblivion, and you'll still die to naked 2H warlocks 75% of the time.

haha yeah, everyone's got a perspective on the game based on their main character POV. and it's had to have a 'fair' gaming experience when there are significant class disparities and especially in a solos environment (where the game was not originally intended in the first place!). agree that phantomize is poorly designed, and agree that being able to overcome a hard counter is some indication of a kind of balance in the game. thanks for your comment & good luck out there!!
@@CripplingMemeAddict
@@michaeloconnor7988 I completely totally wholeheartedly agree!!
Nerf warlock nerf druid nerf cleric nerf ranger, if everything needs a nerf then perhaps balancing is fine
Youre a Warlock main I guess ? Warlock and especially curse Warlock with Phantomize is way over tuned
Literal cancer and toxicity based way to play the game and as 3 friends of mine who quitted the game gave as a reason why they didnt liked it
you see druid got nerf :D
"if everything needs a nerf then perhaps balancing is fine" haha.. yeah I don't envy Ironmace's responsibility here :)
Lol.
you’re not wrong but that doesn’t mean that the base game isn’t extremely interesting and captivating. not to mention they literally lightly touched on everything the player base has been complaining about just this morning.
yeah it is kindof weird that my character can run and take off a full plate chest piece at the same time haha. early access comes with growing pains!
wholeheartedly agree the game is extremely fun and captivating, warts and all! I've never been a part of a game from this stage of early access and witnessed so many pre-release iterations first-hand. it's awesome, and yes sometimes frustrating. but as you say, super super fun! good luck in your adventures!
i love how you spend 30 min theorycrafting and overthinking only to prove that superior positioning and movement is what wins in the end. fight 3 being the perfect example. the "overpowered" class can't even get to you while you pelt him with arrows and the several second demon transformation + exploitation strike gives you like 10 free hits before he just falls with literally no ability to counterplay - I'm sure he'll enjoy the game even more when the next patch drops and warlocks gets another nerf for the 12th patch in a row because crybabies like this can't adjust their playstyle "wym I can't just press sprint and hold down w+mouse1 :'(("
mad warlock is mad
thanks for watching the vid! yes, part of my theory crafting and overthinking included notes on how to use positioning, and then demonstrated that! not every clip is going to require using every weapon or strategy -- in the case of platelocks who have no ranged option, a super effective strategy is to chip down with ranged before going in for melee. learning to take advantage of the several second transfrm animation is not intuitive and I used to run from warlocks during that time, so this is another useful thing for other players to see IMO.
hope I'm not coming across as a crybaby, and instead wanted to explain how I can/did adjust my playstyle to overcome the various advantages I believe warlock has over fighters in particular!
cry about it.

What's rough is the meta of running around half naked and being un touchable. The game has all these cool armors and its more beneficial to run naked and be fast, its dumb
agreed!!
when you do get touched as a naked warlock you get killed really fast, its not like being fast doesnt have its downsides
@@ohmy9672 Doesn't change the fact that new players get infinitely kited and don't enjoy the game when they first start out
@@11Gr8N8 i don’t think anyone enjoys this game when they first start out, but that’s why you get better overtime
@@ohmy9672 Lol sorry but that's a bit of a stupid take. What keeps people playing a game is enjoying it and their first impressions.
If all of my interactions had been being kited by a naked person most people would quit.
"I dont think anyone enjoys this game" lol what
