Still can be that. A purple gear "designed build" will absolutely wreck lower kits. Druid panther with stacked agility and vigor as an example. The most fun you can have without huge power gaps is definitely in the 25 - 124 range rn.
I'm an indie game developer who works on a moba that has very fast moving characters. People don't realize how much lag there is in online games, even with a ping of just 60-90, the difference in client and server position when viewed side-by-side can be quite surprising. This leads to a lot of moments where players feel "cheated", but that's just the reality of latency in online games.

A high skill ceiling does not a good game make, at least not alone. Just because someone can invest thousands of hours into a game learning it's complexities doesn't make those complexities objectively good or even subjectively fun. I'm not saying Dark and Darker is bad, it has redeeming qualities, but it's filled with questionable design choices, obtuse game mechanics, inconsistent developers who flip flop on design decisions, and it has toxicity issues like any other multiplayer game, especially ones that have PvP functionality.
As a newer player who hit the blue rank in solos and then got stuck, this is a really comprehensive guide to not only build mistakes but also insight into what gear actually effects what and how to bring gear to increase necessary stats. Me and my buddy watched through this yesterday and were amazed by the level of skill you have as well as your knowledge. 💪

Love the format and the Fight explanations :) But I think solos would be better for this series, especially because you focus a lot on the gear u buy. First fight for example was really well played, but I feel like your 200g kit did not have any impact as the Fighter pretty much played it perfectly with his purple Halberd. Damn I love the Halberd...

Yeah, the fact you can't attack in the Dreanwalk state, but you still do damage with an attack you started before the change is a real pain. Not for the Druid, I'm sure they love it.

I like the way you break down fights like this. I try to explain to my friends how to think of every situation in a tactical way and think of the cause/effect before making a decision. Instead they just hold W key and M1 as soon as they see anyone and then cry that the enemy is more geared when they get outplayed or resort to blaming me. Then they load up Apex Legends or some other slop while calling this game bad. Now I queue solo as a bard player lol, oh well
Loved seeing the streamers reaction, Geared and thinking he was going to kill two noobs, dies and cries about you being terrible (despite you clearly outplaying him so what does that make him exactly?) and calls cheating to cope xD

Yeah the average gamer who hasn't played this game much (yet) probably misses so much when watching a clip from it. There's so many small things going on and minor decisions being made which can affect the entire fight.
I must be misunderstanding something. In the rules you said no gear ups are allowed, but in each clip after the fight you equip a lot of items from fallen enemies. Does this mean that each fight is another run and you extract after what you show?

I just felt like I wanted to be strict in showing that a 200g kit with no freebies can be viable to some degree. I also didn't want to give people any reason to diminish the video and be like "oh you used a bunch of squire gear I don't have" or "but you have tons of meds and I'm poor". I've considered doing full squire kit runs into HR or something for a vid. Maybe when account-wide questing comes.

How the hell did the fighter tanked that many stabs? Everytime im encountering a rouge, he 3taps me. No matter if i play demon warlock with high gear or an druid with high HP in bear form or anything else....
The Lizardman skin gives armor rating and headshot reduction. It's almost like wearing a statless helmet with no -MS penalty. Too good at low gear level imo so I don't use it.
For wizard I currently run fire mastery, staff mastery, reactive shield, and ice shield. Is it beneficial to run both defensive perks or is it better to run only 1 of them? If so, which perk between the 2 shields do you recommend? :)
Both are good. I find myself taking ice shield more often in general. The knowledge increasing perk is really good too, as casting speed is very important on wiz
@@NotLikeThisJoe appreciate the reply. do you think it would be better to drop reactive shield for quick chant or the knowledge perk? I figured the 10% spell casting speed from quick chant would be more impactful than the knowledge gain from the sage perk. Unless there is something I am missing? 😅

I think wizard is the best for punching above your weight class just because you only get stat checked if they have good range

Fighter and Cleric are both great options. Fighter has ranged options while Cleric has healing magic, buffs, and minor offensive spells.
