TBH the game needs more on-boarding. At least give newbs an offline mode like Tarkov. Let them roam the map freely, fight mobs, learn mini bosses and such and exits. Without being hunted down at spawn by players who already know how the game works and are purely there for pvp. Just to encourage new players more by giving them some confidence against mobs.
Yo! Thank you for the Harpy tips, I had come to the conclusion that the wind blast attack was a DPS check, lol. Kill her before she uses it, or else you get hit. Good to know you can just stand still, lol.
I am a new player, started this week with Cleric because it was appealing, and now that I've discovered your channel I'm sticking to it as a main role ! You really helped me a lot jumping in with your tutorials and guides, thank you so much NotLikeThis.. Keep up with the cool quality video, brother !!
I'm pretty sure that at 7:34 the kobold archers tantrum called kobold from downstairs. It seems that they only call kobold closest to them and from around the new aggroed kobold, even if the kobold is in other room. This is just my experience from the kobolds so feel free to call out what you guys think : )
Could be, but I definitely want to add, that there must be a max range on it otherwise, you could clear kobold rooms by dragging a single one and chaining their calls for isolated fights.
With the yeti, you can also pick a single direction to circle strafe, then crouch jump over the attack that starts closer to you (first attack if circling to your right, and second if circling to your left)
Ice Skeletons are my absolute bane of existence lol. Circling around them seems almost impossible with weapons out and if they hit, you are basically getting overrun and transformed into a frozen fish finger.
Thank you very much for the guide!I think its one of the most detailed guide of dnd.. Me and my friend got wiped by harpy twice yesterday...I am so glad i finally know how to deal with it
Ayy just watched your other video last night and wondered if you'd gotten around to Ice Caves vid or not yet, lo-and-behold here it is right when I go to look, posted 15 min ago. Thanks for the help!
10k sub here ❤ love your videos!! Edit: Ive learned alot through your mechanics videos and how to evade/beat every mob and gotten much better in the game overall, hope you continue making these videos cause if you‘re solo all the time stuff like this will help us all!! Thank you! Best regards from Switzerland :)
The best guides ever I watched all of them like 2 or 3 times and compared to the other stuff that existed at the time . Nothing came close to the level of your vid
For the Frost Skeleton Archer, the melee attack can be crouch-ducked/matrixed as long as you're directly in front of it. If you stay within melee range and don't strafe, it can be dealt with similarly to the Longsword Skeleton in the Crypts. For me, this method makes dealing with them feel much less stressful.
Good afternoon, Thank you for the video, thanks to them you can cope with new problematic monsters (new ones, because thanks to the old videos, old monsters have ceased to be a problem)... and when you get to more terrible places, you meet relatively new monsters. I still don’t understand what to do with the harpy.. how it’s like to just stand and do nothing.. her attack is very annoying) I don’t have enough HP to understand how to dodge) a skeleton with an ax is my love) so quickly only people don’t transport me to the tavern. I sincerely thank you for your efforts! the video helps a lot
another amazing video Brother NotLikeThis, I'm sure I am not the only one excited for your future video to help our new and old brothers and sisters in the dungeons. i do wonder, will you be doing class videos? and if so, will you share others than cleric?
Maybe a short video on terminology would be helpful, I had no clue what you meant by MDR or PDR on the ice hound. Thanks for the guide though this helped a lot!
I kinda prefer the frost archers BECAUSE you force them to melee by getting close. If you can avoid it with crouch matrix or dodging you’re a lot safer killing them up close than regular ranged enemies
Nice vid. Those ice hounds are no joke! It seems like IM should’ve added alot of the mobs abilities to the nightmare versions (eg skele archer melee attack) cos right now the nightmare versions have no specials and the base versions are tough haha
Hey, I just picked the game a couple of weeks ago and have been looking into videos like this and experimenting to get the idea. For the Ice hound I have a (very dumb) strat that I do for fun, since they often come in packs I just run away from them like a headless chicken (read: directly away from them) looping in circles, but since they do so much damage they 4 or 5 shot each other if they clip. This is admittedly kinda useless to know, but, as long as you don't agro anything else, this will eventually kill one of them and get the other to 2/5ths HP, lol. 7/10 times I could get away without taking a single hit, and I think they can apply frostbite to each other but don't quote me on that. Note: I have no self-preservation instinct, when I go into a run I try to learn, not survive.
the nightmare frost walker im 99 percent sure has a big double hand overhead swing that sends him like 3 meters out. idk if its triggered by anything but i watched it happened to my buddy and he was freakin out.
For frost giants, I find it easier just to bait them around an ice pillar. I almost never get hit and I don't have to worry about dodge this way or that way.
I’ve only got about 24 hours in the game, but from my experience in Ice Caverns (which I play a lot of, Ranger paradise), the Kobald call always works 100% correctly 100% of the time for me. No idea what’s causing our experiences to be different but it isn’t bugged at all for me
Hello, since i am an experienced dark and darker player,i'd like to add some recommendations for the new players, for some monsters that this guide doesnt cover fully! Frost archers: you can duck the shotgun, when he starts loading the shotgun attack, duck and look at the ground. also, when you go in melee range, he will try to hit you with his melee. You can dodge the melee attack by ducking and looking at the ground, that way,he is easier to kill! Frost Giant Berserker: duck and strafe to the left while you are hitting, just make sure you go around him at all times, you don't need to wait for anything, just keep hitting while strafing and 95% of the times he wont be able to hit you. Frost Demon: there are not many spawns in hell for him, if you find him in uneven terrain,he doesnt hit lower than his feet, so just go a bit lower when he is using slash attacks! Yeti: always cheese that guy, we all hate him! Frost Hound: out-dps him or you dead, that dude is hard! thanks for the video and for helping new players get the hang of it!
BRO 😂 just wanted to say, someone tried to fight me, I wasn’t even gonna if he left. Bro was closing door as I’m right in his face at the end. He ended up having insane gear. Legendary spell book, purple rings, purple cape, armor and boots, so much stuff. What a snag
This man single handedly saving the entire race of new Timmy's.

i been playing a few playtests and like a 100 hours in 2023 im just coming back and this shit is so usefull
Hey, Babe, Wake up! There is a new NotLikeThis video!
WOOOOOO
You can crouch matrix the skeleton archer melee if u are directly in front thats how i deal with it
Great guide, straight to the point, well edited so its not some 40 minute unedited ramble, good job!

Balller video. First one I've seen explaining the hound.
18:25 I love how the wendigo dies like he's just chillin right there

In that room I've noticed the archer below often aggros and tries to shoot you through the floor.
@@NotLikeThisJoe I spent a few raids thinking I had neighbors fighting mobs before I realized this

thanks a lot, i just returned from a break of dark and darker and did not feel like learning a whole new enemy pools on my own

Thanks so much for this guidance, you’ve saved me many many hours of slowly learning each pattern!

Awesome guide! I have noticed that the ice-wolfs bark. Does this bark aggro nearby wolfs?
Not sure. It feels like it should be that way, but many times I see nearby wolves ignore it.
Id love to see a red stair vid in the forgotten castle, can't figure out some of those mobs or bosses
