    What amazes me about the Japanese tuning legends is their humility. Sometimes I wonder if they even know how much of a big deal they are overseas

    • @ace-qi9pj
      @ace-qi9pj 4 года назад +10

      @Adam Lolno I never really thought about that before but all the japanese are really modest about their builds and tuning ability.

      patrick dean id argue its the way of any competent person in any field, its not just a japanese phenomenon. The germans are similar

      They know. They just aren't an arrogant and showboating culture, unlike say the USA, and need to throw it in everyone's faces.

    I've been saying this for years, Tomei is way underrated for its quality compare to other Japanese tuners.

    • @bhuggz6032
      @bhuggz6032 4 года назад +22

      People have clearly never seen their Ti exhaust in person or the quality of their products and welds. Best exhaust you can put on a VQ imo.

    • @ace-qi9pj
      @ace-qi9pj 4 года назад +7

      Underrated? Made in japan, made from titanium and the loudest by far. Besides the price they are on top with ets.

      @@bhuggz6032 Friend of mine in the club I'm in has their intake, headers, and Ti exhaust on his VQ swapped widebody 240z. One of the best sounding cars I've ever heard.

      problem with Tomei is that... their products has been plagiarized by some unscrupulous bastards... fakes and probably sold all over. In my place, you could easily get a fake Tomei fuel pressure regulator and some other stuff which Tomei didn't even produce.

      It's not always about quality. If the acoustics aren't there, I don't care what it's made out of or where it comes from.

    Bradford-San thank you for once again bringing a legendary Japanese name to life! For decades all of these names, Mugen, Tomei, Jun, etc were just decals on someone’s Civic or 240, but now we (at least here in the States) can finally see the people behind these amazing cars and parts!
    As a long time semi-pro racer in the SCCA and JDM enthusiasts I greatly appreciate what you are doing to bring these names to life and give credit where it is due!
    Thank you and can’t wait for your next video! BTW great jacket!
    Cheers!

    WOW! I hardly ever comment on any video, but this was AMAZING! I hope someone who works/oversees work at Tomei sees this comment. I've never seen such high quality attention to detail, or care in the process of manufacturing any product. I know I'm American, so even after 15 years in manufacturing, I probably still know nothing (stupid fractional sizing system messed me up for life), but this was so eye opening. Thank you for bringing me this video so I have some serious eye candy.
    Also, the "old equipment" comments in front of the lathe were dead on. I've used many different lathes, mills, even some cnc lathes, and the oldest stuff (when maintained) was definitely quality.

    It seems that back in the late 90's early 2000's getting JDM stuff was easy and affordable. Unfortunately now for the normal working man it is out of reach as popularity and the internet have greatly driven the prices up, It is absolutely a rich mans game now. Ah well we can get comparable or better quality parts now for cheaper in usa/aus/europe, still a bit sad to see it go the way it did.

    Why am i so poor? I want one of their RB26s :D Also, thanks for the content! Really nice to see a new channel with new ideas and content you haven´t seen on 5 other channels already (which is really hard nowadays, so don´t take this as a complaint. I know it is hard to get all new content all the time)
