      @Chris I don't either, but a company like Creality should be able to afford to launch their product without using a crowd-funding website. It's also worrisome selling tons of printers without major reviews and comparisons.

    Yesterday, my nephew and I were talking about jointly buying a Prusa MK3S (he's in mechanical engineering). Then I saw a comment on a forum about this printer and checked the kickstarter page and this review. An hour later I was a backer. This morning I told him I had ordered a printer, and since it's half the price of the Prusa, told him to keep his money and I'd pay for it. He's already looking for stuff to design. ;)

    Hi there
    First of all. Great video! It's been a few years since I've had my last 3d printer. It was early stage, so sold it and waited for the 3D printers to improve. Now is the time. Were going to buy a Prusa MK3s when Creality annouced this bad boy. Went for it. This video is making my fingers tiggle. Can't wait.
    A few improvements I would like to see from what you've shown in your video is:
    Software:
    - Make it so that the buildplate would go to the front when print is done, so that you dont have to make the plate move like you do at 14:38 .
    On some printers it can fry the electronics, since your generate electricity when moving the plate.
    Hardware:
    - Change the micro-usb port to a USB-C port (see: 13:06 ) It's 2020 for god sake.
    - Either include a SD-Card reader or add the possibility to use a USB stick (See: 13:06 ).
    - Maybe even wifi controlled like when accesing the settings of a router from browser with 192.168....
    Other than that. Seems great.
    Let me know what you think folkes, so that maybe we can make it happend.

    Nice review. This looks like a great printer! But I think it’s missing one critical feature. When I asked Creality about a dual head option, I got this response;
    “It is just like paint on a sculpture. When you finished the print of the model, you can color the model.

    Interesting that you like the lever style extruder drive... My very old Replicator 2X came with similar extruders, and upgrades to spring loaded, squeeze to release, are some of the most popular printed upgrades. It all goes full circle...

    Hi I just got this printer, I have leveled the printer that went fine I am trying to get the filament to feed I get it to go in the Filament Detector and have to use a pliers to lift it up a bit to go into the Extruder . I did release the lever and it slides in but will not go any further. I am stuck any suggestions?

      @@brianheald4588 thats petty cool ..not that bed leveling is a big deal ..but what if that solid bed is not flat...does it adjust like we do on manual printers and find the sweet spot so it works, or a different way?... thanks

  • @CanuckCreator
    @CanuckCreator 4 года назад

    Is it using sensorless homing for the bed mesh? Seems like it would be prone to variance due to it only being accurate to the next full step, bed flex and potential nozzle oozing causing misreads.

    • @brianheald4588
      @brianheald4588 4 года назад

      The nozzle is mounted on a flex plate which touches the bed to find absolute 0. Other abl systems have to be told the offset of the probe to the nozzle. As this touches the nozzle to the bed, the only offset you need to adjust is your first layer height. It even heats the nozzle to 120° to squish any boogers. Genius!

    To be honest this does look to be Creality's best printer to date. Tons of improvements. I flexible spring steel PEI sheet would be very welcome as an optional printing bed. I know some folks swear by the glass though so whatever works I guess.

I've been looking for months to upgrade to my 2nd home 3D printer from my MP select mini pro (I work with Stratasys, 3D Systems, Carbon & HP MJF printers for my job so i don't need anything crazy for something on my desk lol). And i haven't gotten much excitement from anything as far as features, design and price go until i saw this CR 6.
