    I was wondering can you purchase CNT made with the electrolysis ?… the molten lithium carbonate CO2 capturing one...

    It makes me wonder how well this would work as leaders for fishing.. Predatory fish tend to cut braided lines easily with their sharp teeth. The breaking pulling strength is about 10kg for 0.5mm thick CNT yarn right? Why does that sound a bit low considering similar thickness fishing braid its 5 times that..

      Purity and the inability to produce long strands of nanotubes

      Carbon nanotubes aren't really about size to strength ratio, they are more about weight to strength ratio. So yeah fishing line is stronger in size, but carbon nanotubes are vastly stronger for its weight. They are even a few times stronger than titanium line.

    Where did u get the carbon nanotubes form

    • @dexmatinc.2374

      We don't want to discuss our specific sources, but we purchase the carbon nanotubes from a few of the private companies that are producing them for sale.
      There is a huge variety in terms of the purity, size, and quality of nanotubes that are commercially available, so we use nanotubes from suppliers that can achieve high purity and low defect density (i.e., not many defects in the molecular structure of the nanotubes).

      @@dexmatinc.2374 How long are the nanotubes? I thought all that was on the market was carbon nanotubes in powder form. If these are just long strings of nanotubes, it would literally replace carbon fiber for lots of use cases. You will become super rich if you are quick to take over the market before the competitors do.

    Is this SWCNT or MWCNT?

    • @dexmatinc.2374
      @dexmatinc.2374  5 лет назад +1

      We can use either one in our process, so long as the graphitic quality of the CNTs is high (i.e., so long as there are a small number of defects in the molecular structure). The yarn shown in this video is made with relatively thin MWCNTs.
