in my mind , JK has a somewhat roaring 1920s jazz hands vocal tone to his voice that i try capture in the above jam ,
yet after hearing the Stu Zender demo with a more mellow approach ,, i agree that that magical smooth funky dance sound of the Beta version is cherished musical beauty (Brit Funk ) mirroring players like Roy Ayres

that's great you found the cover jam you were looking for " manifest destiny" ,, i get quite a few reply's & hits for the Scam jam ,, though i personally Thank " Chris Francis Bass " who got me into this joint , he was the source bass player who drew me in to the thread , i simply sat in on joint
Chris Francis Bass does a real good version of Scam too check it out ,, i guess together we both nailed the thread from different prospectives and obviously await to see if others can join in on this thread perhaps contributing even more possibilities ,, thank you ,

in the 70s "Columbus used to make a Fender bass that's now known/ Dubbed as the Jacko Pastorius Fender Jazz copy & somewhat collectable (,note to my DJ mate) the other even cheaper alternative was a UK brand called " Axe" ? made in 70s early 80s ?, very embarrassed brought it for 35 quid 2nd hand shop notting hill in 1991,, thanks Christopher ; D the funk groove & "final frontier" goes on

+Farrel Cahyono ha ha i will take that as a compliment ,, mono neon is a great player , he is deep in the funk of the interstellar funk zone that's for sure . he fly's on a super mega V, 5 hyper sonic bass with warp features ,, our paths did cross few years back ,, but we never made a mothership connection at that time , thanks
