No, this is certainly NOT James Jamerson's bass line... it's BETTER. As a bassist from Detroit, I love Jamerson and all the incredible work he did for MoTown. However, the bass line he did for this song was not quite as smoothly exciting and calmly funky as this one. In other words, when Jamerson did it, our focus has always been on Marvin's voice and lyrics, but when you did it, our focus was 100% on YOU. This is pure bass excellence
