Thanks for the review. I had the vantop 4k mirror dashcam since Jan 2021. That dashcam malfunctioned in jan 2022. Vantop gave me amazon store credit instead of a warranty exchange since its no longer sold on amazon. I purchased and installed a carchet t12 . The back camera is so pixelated and grainy day and night . I just can't.. .. thanks for the detailed review. Just purchased the same one and returning the carchet.. video quality looks great for the back camera . I enjoy the fact that these mirror cam basically eliminates blind spots, you can literally see everything behind .
I’m so confused with this dash camera I got this free from Temu mine says Jomise G814 v1.0 I got it installed as well as hardwired but once my car is off the screen turns off I’m seeing others that have the same g814 and they are able to use the parking mode
Does it have event recording? Where you can hit a button and that section of the looped video will be saved and not written over? Also, a year later, how is the camera holding up? Any issues?
I am not sure if there is a why to hit a button and lock in the footage, according to the ad info it does do that in an event like accident, it is still working great. we have have it on our van that we use a lot and it still works great. here is their info, might have more information for you. amzn.to/3KVmy1l
the mirror can show the rear camera all the time without connection of the red wire. that is how I have it. the red wire is for the back up part of the camera and shows distance lines. you would connect the red wire to the reverse lights.
I can't seem to find any information out there on how you would go about uploading all of the dashcam footage onto your computer. Would you have to take the microSD card out or would you have to actually take the camera home and plug it into your computer via USB-c.
Thanks for the review. Got my own G814 and been using it for couple weeks now. But one thing i noticed was most of the playback videos freezes for 5~15 secs and then back to normal and then freezes again. I dont know if its because of 4k or what, but I'm using the same SD card 128GB U3 V30.
Any claims of 4K/UHD camera for a device in that price range should be taken with a giant boulder of salt. There are undoubtedly some internal video upscaling shenanigans going on. I guarantee it.
Do you get any Flickering at night time with LED-based lights? For example, I have a Wolfbox camera and it any LED light flickers and flashes while it's behind me. This could be street lights, headlights, house lights, etc.
I just order mine after my Vantop and kingslim both have black screen of death. I did not get the protection plan on the vantop that died after 3 mos but I did for the Kingslim. At this point I have low expectations for it to last more than 3-6 mos. I hoping Sony will come out with a mirror dash cam. After researching a lot. China allows for copyright infringement. Anything you build there they are allowed to see what is in your product. It is out of control but I still buy products. I just think if you copyright something at least do not copy the bad parts. This product looks great and hope the usb-c will solve the power black screen of death. Just having a full view of the road behind you is great. I cannot live without a mirror dash cam. I am hoping future ford trucks will have them like GMC and Chevy and Ram does. Thanks for the review
Cool video. I was really curious about this came when i saw it on Amazon. The description seemed to emphasize on the fact that it has a USB c port. I will confirm that USB mini ports like those found on most other mirror dash cameras do not last long. Even around the house USB mini cables stop working rather fast. I have a lot of devices that use a USB c port and I've never had any issues with them. Il go ahead and give this cam a shot in hopes that it lasts longer than a year which my previous 2 cameras did not. By the way do you know if this camera records in h.265 format and at what frame rate it records at?
thanks, I am not sure the format but I believe it is 30fps, it is all good enough to see and get what you need. not really any kind of video for major films of course.
Appreciate the review. I purchased a Jomise G814 like yours, And I'm trying to get the split screen top over bottom, instead of side to side split screen. I've seen your video were you show both displays. Thanks for your help.
The only issue I have with this set up is the rear view seems to be to far away, meaning the the field of view is wide you can make out vehicles on the screen that you see clearly in your side mirrors. If you could zoom in or reduce the field of view it would be perfect.
You say in your video that when adjusting the video up or down via the touch screen, the camera moves up or down. Mine doesn't do that. Only the touch screen display video moves up or down, not the physical camera itself. That is for both the front and rear camera. Is my system defective?
From what I can tell from other reviews the display is just a short view (or window) of the full frame. The camera is capturing (and recording) the full frame, but the mirror can't show the full frame, the aspect ratio is just wrong. Scrolling up and down (and some side to side I think) adjusts what part of the full frame that the display actually shows. You can see more of the full frame when the display is showing both front and back. (I don't have this camera so I don't know if the combined front & back view mode is the full frame or just a taller portion of the full frame. One would have to compare what they see on the display to what they then see when playing back the recording on the computer.)
I just got this Jomise today and it just stays on, there is no parking mode in the settings. The car is off and the cam stays on. Was at the dog park for 40 mins and it was still on. I have a new 2021 f150 and this over time will send a default as it will detect a battery drain. Even though it is not much sends a system fault to the app. I will give this a try and see how long it will last. I did get the warranty but a company that does not have a web site I have little faith if I have to use it. Ty for the review
Some cars have continuous power to certain cig lighter ports. My 2017 Nissan has 5 cig lighter ports and out of the 5 the one at the very back by the rear door has continuous power. Instead of hard wiring the can i plug it into my back port and this allows it to work in parking guard mode.
I am not sure, would have to check all your connections and make sure you are getting power to everything. most cars need to be on to get power to the cig lighter as well. good luck
Great video! I was looking at one of these but it seems like the rear camera vertical view isnt very tall....for instance if I mount it to have a great rear view for driving, when I scroll down it probably wont look down good enough for a good backing up view. Seems like it's good for one or the other. Also...is there no way to bolt the rear camera down? Only a stick on?
Thanks for watching. You do get a mounting bracket and screws and you can mount the rear camera several different ways. it can be used as a back up camera if you hook up the red wire, I didn't do that. There are some adjustments you can make to the viewing, I made mine to be better as a rearview look for driving. it works really well.
dont buy this trash like i did. look somewhere else. i bought mine on amazon last month, after installing. i noticed right away that the contrast is too much. there is no settings for contrast. brightness setting does not even help. so i tried to factory reset more than 10x when i decided to give up. another issue is the glare, its just too much. even after adding on the antiglare screen protector is useless, avoid brand at all cost. dont be fooled by reviews!
Amazing review man, you answered many of my questions!

Useful information and great walkthrough altogether for what I needed to know!

Man, i was looking for a specific thing and I got lost in this video, you're reaaaaaly entertaining, love the vid!
Do you have the link to the app for the GPS software to view on the computer?

I appreciate you for your video. I've had my dash cam, but it has just sat in the box.
Hi, is there an app or web access via wifi for the camera?
not with this one
where do I connect the red wire so that the rear camera can be seen all the time

I didn't notice any flickering, that does happen sometimes with cameras and the led lights though in general.

so far this one is working really well!

How do u download your videos to your phone or computer? Mine doesn’t want to save anything I can watch the videos just not save them
I just take the sd card out and put it in my computer, you might need a different video playing to see them. or convert the files.

if I remember correctly it was to adjust the rear camera. set it to rear camera and try touching the screen and move up or down.

Does it replay video on its own full screen? The one I have at the moment it only uses half of the screen to replay video
Is it a supercapacitor?
sorry, not sure about that, check out the product info and details, link is in the description of the video
It is.

sounds like your cig lighter power is wired to be on at all times. Mine only comes on when car is on.
@@ItstheDaveShow1 I will find out in a week

I am not sure, would have to check all your connections and make sure you are getting power to everything. most cars need to be on to get power to the cig lighter as well. good luck
at night do other car's headlights blind the crap out of you when this thing is turned on?
not at all, haven't noticed anything like that

It's a nice dash cam, I like mine.
Do you have to purchase your own sd card?
It comes with a 32gb card
The speed in my shows 15 mph higher than the actual speed

oh dang, sorry you have had these issues, mine still is working great even after a year now.
