Best Practices to Avoid Contamination and Failure of a New Fuel Pump
Rust: While condensation from temperature changes can cause water buildup in a fuel tank, this process accelerates with low fuel levels or physical damage.
Dirt can enter your fuel tank through a missing/loose cap, damaged vent tube, contaminated fuel, or improper filter material (especially for methanol/ethanol blends), and can even recirculate through the return system.
Strainers: NEVER reuse a strainer. Press it straight onto the pump inlet by hand - NO screwing, hammering, or forcing.or your warranty will be voided.
Best Practices: avoid low fuel levels (starves pump cooling), keep gas cap tight & sealed, use high-quality fuel (correct octane), replace filter regularly, inspect hoses, and consider occasional fuel system cleaner. Clean the tank when replacing the pump.

Please note the float arm is not installed on the fuel pump module . It must be mounted to the fuel level sensor properly before installation in the fuel tank.
