Totally agree with everything Haha123 mentioned below. I’ve also worked as a part time retail assistant with Awfully Chocolate for 6 months in 2019, at their restaurant in Katong.
Used to work there, pretty bad experience. Stayed in the west and made me work in the east. Said they would be able to let me work near home. Ended up being a waiter at their restaurant instead and it was horrible. The only people who were nice were other part timers and the also cut pay if you don’t meet the quota which for some reason not in the contract at all. Selling kinda was a shove down your throat instead of what the customer would want. Pretty shit
I remember I used to buy this cake ftom a nondesript tiny shop at katong 112 with no display and just a menu and a bare counter featuring only 3 flavours.
I am glad I read the comments while watching the video because it seems like the leadership needs some lessons at Awfully Chocolate. this video is really a joke. all the awful comments on the temp staff experience ): sad to read that they are being bullied and some even got harrassed?!
I got to agree with the bad comments on the working experience I too experience all of the above. I clearly remember this particular closing shift that I had when I first started working there when 2 Malay senior part timer asked me to mop the outside area of the store when it’s not needed and they laughed at me from the inside..... it was such a horrible experience... (I realised it was not need on the next shift when someone else told me). Besides that I got to say they very chill with the part-timers, we partical run the whole store when there is no full timers in store (so much for training leadership). Why I say that? When days there are no full timers the part timers will get the chance to even close the cashier and do stock take..... sounds like a FT job? There’s more I remember getting called out in the cluster group chat for not telling the cluster head that the box’s have run out.... isn’t it supposed to be a FT job to keep track of the amount of boxes Needed ??????? 🤡🤡what a joke.... but anyway it all happened in 2017ish and all the mangers that I have worked with all left I guess and I had fun working there 65% if the time. Hopefully they are treating the PT better now.......
A neighbor auntie passed me a small strip of the awfully chocolate a couple of months back. Both her and her daughter didn't want to eat it anymore as they found it very sweet. It was my first time too and indeed it was awfully sweet.
Glassdoor reviews are horrific and paints a similar picture as what has been shared in the comments section. Not going to spend money with this company as much as possible.
Definitely not a fan of choc cake, but I notice that how she addressed “MY TEAM and I” run, instead of saying I’m the founder etc. salute your humility 💪👍
