LOVE this blanket! I love everything about it (using up yarn, the double stitch, random colors and amounts of each yarn, etc...Thank you for this awesome idea!
I've started scrap crocheting after watching this video. Thank you so much for sharing. I didn't know what to do with all my scraps, now I know. I'm hooked.
I once did a pet blanket like this (had ferrets then). Just started with a chain row the size I wanted (maybe 2 feet) and kept workimg in the scraps. It turned out to be a mat they would take naps on, worked out real well.
What a fun project!! My only change would be to crochet the ends of the old color and the new color together, then it is hidden with no work at all. :)
Salut , je sais que cette vidéo date , mais j'adore et je fais ce genre de couvertures , le crochet me relaxe et me fais oublier le reste , j'espère que vous lirez ce commentaire venu de France , meilleurs vœux pour cette nouvelle année 2023
+JeniferGamelli I just finally finished the blanket today. My husband stole it and has been using it even though it wasn't totally done! He really loves how warm it keeps him in bed.
I think it looks great. I've made these before in different sizes. I even made one to fit that I use in the back "trunk" of my SUV. If something spills they are easy to wash and keeps your vehicle clean. Also, it can be used as an emergency blanket. When you see these colors it reminds me of all the past projects I've enjoyed crocheting for people/organizations. Nice video! :)
I've stuck a paper clip or a safety pin in the loop of the last stitch done if I don't have the next ball of yarn handy or I have to set a project aside for a while. (I'm currently working on a project which requires about a gazillion stitch markers, so I now have a ton of them -- but before I bought all those stitch markers, I went the paper clip/safety pin route.)
+paris seaton It really doesn't matter what weight of yarn you use. In the past, I have made these where I mixed a baby weight yarn, or sport weight with worsted weight.
+paris seaton I honestly don't remember how many chains I used. I just made the chain long enough to cover my queen sized bed. I used that as a starting point for the height of the blanket. I added enough rows to cover the width of my bed.
THAT STOP FROM WASTE AND SAVE MONEY FROM BUYING A NEW BLANKET OR NEW YARN. I USUALLY FIND USE FOR SOME SCRAPS , BUT THE REST WILL DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT OR RUGS.
So serviceable too. I love scrap blankets!!
Never would throw out yarn!
There are so many things one can make with scraps of yarn!!
I’ve seen a lot of scrapblankets but I like yours the best. Your stitch, your results. Thank you!

I make these too! except I make giant granny squares for mine. They are hands down my favorite blankets.
I agree. I have also make them granny style but in rows instead of a square.
This is a great idea because I have soooo many scraps.

I like the thought of seeing past projects in the blanket.... Thanks!
Love it.

I am doing a scrap blanket for my sisters cat. I am using all acrylic yarns and an i hook using two strands of yarn together
I love it
What is the yarn weight? Can other weights be incorporated into the same project?
I wouldn't, also should use the same type like all cotton or all acrylic as different ways of washing.
your first row of double crochet do you Skip One Stitch or two??
Love it!
It's pretty 😀
love it
I'm making one my self.
And does it matter the different weight of the scrap yarn you're using ?
+paris seaton It really doesn't matter what weight of yarn you use. In the past, I have made these where I mixed a baby weight yarn, or sport weight with worsted weight.

Amylace Enzyme ûu
i need to know did you use 2 string or 1
did you start off with single r double crochet?
The first row, and all rows, are double crochet.
I love this.....are you using all the same brand of yarn...like Redheart?
I use all types of yarn when making a scrap blanket.... just everything that I have from left from projects.
Did you mix your yarn weights?
Hi Mimi did you say J or G hook? I will do one like that thdnks
J hook
@@vajee5 Thanks
Your blanket is beautiful,my question is how much do you chain up when you get to the end of the row?
+paris seaton I honestly don't remember how many chains I used. I just made the chain long enough to cover my queen sized bed. I used that as a starting point for the height of the blanket. I added enough rows to cover the width of my bed.
+Poochie Baby thank you

You don’t hide tails ?..
I'm Making A Scrapghan Too. But I'm Using 2 Strands And A 10mm Hook. And I'm Doing Half Double Crochet!!! 😁😁😁😁😁
I did exactly that. I have already made two and shall be starting a third one soon. I think this makes a slightly thicker blanket.
The best blankets are made out of scraps.
Can you show how to start please
Nice blanket but you should weave in loose yarn looks tacky leaving them out ,i use a 10 size hook looks just as nice
Oo

Why don't you crochet your ends in? That's what I do when making crochet and knitted scrap yarn blankets.
Hi, just to let you know that the user Jiyirom Salegise stole your planner videos
+Ju AC Thanks... I just found out from someone else! They stole all of them! I reported it. Sigh......
