Was just trying to salute medical workers from the compassionate in my own heart. I have several family members in the medical field as well. Don't know where all this hate is coming from. Normally I don't respond to it because I understand hate comments come from 14 year old who are just on the internet all day and need some attention, and we've all been there. But I'm replying because I didn't even know I had this many likes and so I want to use that to once again salute Dr. Bai and all the other heroes around the world right now. Just know that the 99.99% of the rest of us (who are normal) actually appreciate your efforts.

I have never seen so many doctors so scared. This is insane. God bless them all.
Put yourself in their shoes. They are in the presence of high viral loads for a full shift. PPE definitely does a lot to help, but a single mistake when doffing can result in an infection. It is scary and it is only normal if they're scared. A young Dr. like Dr. Bai will probably get the mild form of the disease, if he does contract it, so long as he's getting a full 8 hours sleep every night. Also, if he can manage, using hydrothermal therapy when he gets off shift will help a lot.

Rennie Allen I think a lot of doctors don’t get the option to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Some work 16 hours or 24 hours shift. Sometimes you can lay in bed for hours and not be able to sleep especially of the things you see and worry in your mind. Tough spot for healthcare workers. They are heroes.

Rennie Allen Can you explain how hydrothermal therapy might work for me ? My issue is I use to have access to the steam room at the gym I attend but it’s closed now. Im a respiratory therapist and I also deal with covid patients. I’ll take all the advice I can get.

And my mom was a RN.....got paid about a quarter of the doctor. LOL

10 people died in the ED, he had to chose which one can get the ventilator. The others were gasping for breaths and asking to save them. The nurses had to close their eyes and ignore the calls, as told by one of our new nurses, we oriented in ED. No one wanted these to happen to anyone. Dr Bae is my friend and co-worker.

Society rewards the wrong people, actors playing pretend, singers, authors can all be rewarded millions or even billions yet the essential people that keep society functioning from garbage collection and disposal, electricians, doctors, nurses, midwives, mental health workers, teachers, postal workers, delivery drivers, plumbers, engineers, constructions workers, police.....and so so many more good people who work hard in their field to keep society functioning. All of these people and many more provide an invaluable service to all communities, large or small and many of them are underpaid, unappreciated, overworked, unsupported whilst A-List celebrities soak up the cream of the wealth, financiers - many of whom are glorified gamblers, politicians who pick and choose when to be transparent, break promises, feed information to the public not for the good of society but frequently for their own agenda or the agenda of the people behind them. It’s so wrong and vapid. Whilst these celebrities get patted on the back for donating a million here or 10million over there and get lauded for it and yes it’s a nice gesture but it makes me feel a bit sick to think these people think nothing of donating millions almost like the average persons drops their loose change to help the local homeless. It is wrong that those with much have too much and then other people have to go without when there is clearly enough for everybody to go around. How did society get this way.

Kai Wolfy I hand wash my laundry and dry it in the bathroom, then once it's not damp anymore, take it near the heat to dry. I grew up poor in nyc so I've been doing this since I was young and rarely went to the laundromat

You know, I like to consider myself a pretty damn good person. Empathetic, caring, thoughtful, generous, etc. But... then I see people like this guy, and I realize I'm only good when it's EASY to do so.

You’re speaking about the MAJORITY of nurses and doctors who are keeping their heads down doing the work and not making videos of themselves whining about how hard their job is. THIS is what we sign up for. We don’t make videos for the public for attention and sympathy. We JUST WORK. This guy is a pathetic narcissistic joke. And any medical professional I know agrees about all these nurses and doctors crying on social media about how scared they are and how tired they are and being used as political pawns. Disgusting. I don't have any experience in the medical field, but I do know what it's like to have someone die in your arms. A person looking to YOU to save them, and you are POWERLESS to help. I never knew what true helplessness felt like until that day. It's like someone was STRETCHING OUT MY HEART from my throat to my stomach.
If I had to endure that, multiple times a day, without venting or my family/support system, I'm not ashamed to admit I'd break down, and rather quickly.
Maybe I'm just crazy.

I'm so mad at some of my friends saying that hospitals are not at all busy and there is no lack of supplies for healthcare workers.
No healthcare worker should have to go without being with their families - but it's understandable why some are minimizing risks and do live separately. But it enrages me when people aren't taking the stay at home orders correctly and think hanging out with family in other homes is acceptable, because of this behavior is the reason why the healthcare industry is so heavily taxed and they have a long journey ahead.
Yeah being away from wife and kid won't be easy.
I am a doctor in Sydney. Honestly I cant tell you how draining it has been over the last 3 weeks. I can't even imagine how exhausted doctors in New York are.

When this virus crisis is over there should be a memorial in Washington DC to honor all the men and women who died in the medical field who worked during this virus to save people and help each victim. Let’s quit making movie stars, athletes, singers out to be special in any way. Most of them are shallow and arrogant and look down on the average person. Let’s also have a great celebration for all those givers both medically and businesses and the every day people going out of their way to help in any way they could- Hopefully the 4th of July will be a good occasion to celebrate America in a different way this year.

Hi Dr Bai. Wishing you, your colleagues, family and friends the best during this pandemic. We are in South Africa and feel your pain. I cannot imagine the pain though of having to part from your family despite it being for their own safety. Both my wife and I are medics so we feel the stress and trauma you are going through, but you are on another level I suppose. God be with you all and we pray for an end to this pandemic, sooner rather than later.
Comparing this doctor’s PPE with that of Italy, South Korea, China and many other countries, it is obvious our frontline workers are NOT adequately protected. If they fall, where do we go? We have to do everything to make sure they have the best PPE first!

Also considering hospitals are a breeding ground, everyone literally is asked to wear a mask. So supplies are even more limited to even the patients and admin workers too. this is like asking a fire fighter to go save lifes but he is only given half his gear. Imagine the things going in their minds!
