- Can we get @Ducky 3D or @Default Cube to use it in one of their next videos?
The video explains all the settings of this free #procedural shader in #Blender 2.9, it works both in real-time with EEVEE as well as in Cycles, even if with slightly different results.
The #freebie glitter shader is available at gumroad.com/l/...
Special thanks to @BlenderKit and their great library!
Wow, great result!!
Thank you Ryan
I really appreciate you creating and sharing this shader - thank you!
However, I feel it's unfortunate this video has the automated voice narration. This would be a great video otherwise - helpful, to the point, and fun. But the bot voice detracts from the experience IMHO.
Honestly, I think your usual voice is great. But, if you'd rather not (or can't) speak over the content for a video, perhaps consider simply having music and captions.
That said, thank you for sharing the content that you create and keep up the great work!
Sam I truly appreciate your comment, I am experimenting new things on my channel such as thumbs, frequency, and possibly scripted videos. This time I couldn’t really record due to a very noisy environment, so I tried a text to speech to read the script as it was very short. But easily it’s the last time! Please keep the comments coming as I really need your feedback on my content!

Alright then, keep your secrets.
Is it bad that I’ve read that with Frodo’s voice?
@@DanielOakfield not only is it not bad, but it's deserving of a subscription!
You got my axe 🪓
Thanks for the shader. Awfully kind of you. Liked and subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! I hope you may find it useful!
hi bro, I do have a question, when I renderer it in EEVEE, its loses all the tiny sparks that in the preview I see. I do have space reflections and Ambien Occlusion
It may be you are using different sample count between viewport and render, and/or is the noise removal that is doing some deep cleaning?
Hi, I'm trying to make a silicon glitter phonecase, any color I choose what I get is way too dark. How do I fix this ?
I need more info to troubleshoot this, is is maybe your environment?
How to connect the nodes? :o
I mean like, to where i need to connect the nodes with?
What nodes? It’s a material so you need to select it from the list after importing it with “append” to your project file
Amazing thank you! Just wondering how did you set up lighting in the sample? I can't seem to get as good an effect with my set up!
Hello, if you download the file you can have a look! Unless you mean something specific, please ask :)
@@DanielOakfield Hello! great shader! but I haver the same question. In the sample file there are no lights but the shader looks amazing. When i import it into other projects it doesn't look the same and seems flat. What did you do to make it look so good?
@@DanielOakfield We mean the GLOW. We download the blend file, hit render and it has no glow. Looks flat. In the Material Preview looks great. When we render, no.
So, for the third time (3 people asked you the same) how can we make it look good?
Thanks for the shader. It was a lot of work (but it does not work properly). Regards.
Hello, I believe there's a misconception about how the render engines work, the "glow" is not something you create through the material, it's added on top of the image in different ways, in EEVEE you need to activate "bloom" under the render settings, if you are using Cycles instead you need to add the effect in the "compositing" section.
I have no control over the render settings of your projects :) Hope this helps clarify the confusion, I may do a video about this.
@@DanielOakfield thank you for your answer. You are totally right but it does not work even, in Eevee, activating the option and the other options. I don't change anything in the scene (I don't move anything, I don't add more lights, etc.) It does not work. In Cycles, in composition, after adding the properly nodes, there is no glow (que both know glow in Cycles is... Welll, it's NOT xD). Yes, please, a video would help clarify this.
Hit dislike twice made me proper laugh ;)
I hope you did it though :)
I am a beginner can u please tell me how to render it. cus I am getting a flat surface instead of a shader thnx
Hi John, are you using EEVEE or Cycles?
@@DanielOakfield cycles, but hay I figured it out. Thnx a lot amazing shader.
Glad you solved! I was away from YT for a while! Sorry for the late answer!
@@DanielOakfield cheers no worries
Thnx!
@@johnarizvi246 help?
hey beginner level here thanks for sharing this!! wanna ask how can i make the glitter dots bigger(kinda like those tons of small diamond dots) can I add some shader to mix with?
Hello, glad you like it, you can scale this shader freely, but I’m not sure what effect you are trying to make!
hey thnx for this awesome shader! im trying to apply it to my own model and it doesnt work, any help? im trying to copy the node tree from your file to my file and it says that theres missing info or somthing..
You are welcome! I am wondering if you could please send the right error you get. Also make sure you are importing the shader in the right way, you can import just the material to your scene, no need to copy and paste the node tree!
@@DanielOakfield How do you import? I am struggling
From your scene go to Menu File > Append > select the blend file of the glitter, then go to the Material Folder, select the shader and then select your object and the material will be on your list to select from :)
SUBSCRIBED AND LIKED!👍 I LOVE IT! ❤💕💞This is extremely useful for my projects!!! 💯 Thank you so much, man! 🙏 You're the best!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you Alister! Your support is what keeps this channel going! Please share with us your results using the shader :)
hey! would this work with blender 2.83? thank you!!!
Hi Jessica I am not really sure, but you can download it for free and try yourself, I highly reccommend to always go with the latest version of Blender :)
wow this is amazing , really appliciate
:)
can you do a short video for cycles?
You can search for any "glare" compositor tutorial for Cycles... I doubt I could say anything new about it... :(
I was in need of that. Thank you! Eu estava precisando disso. Muito obrigado!
Thanks for following the channel Otavio :)
That`s an awesome looking Gretch/Gibson model! Subbed
Model is a free download from Blenderkit
@@DanielOakfield oh, ok, shader is also cool
Thank you! I have a friend with a golden glitter guitar exactly like that :)

Thanks! Very neat!
Thank you for watching
Tahnk you sir.
You are welcome my friend
Shader works in 3.0.1, but breaks in 3.1. Cant update it by using the sliders. Only updates if you open the the node group and mess with a node there, then the sliders work. Have to repeat this action to see them change everytime
Hello there, I have just tested on 3.1 and didn’t find any issue, actually many time faster than it was on 3.0. Can you tell me more about your configuration and setup?
This shader is amazing. However when I hit render, i don't get any of the sparkle or shimmer. I tried rendering with EEVEE and Cycles. Do you know why that's the case? Thank you!
Do you see the effect in the viewport?
Thank you for sharing.
However once rendered the effect disappears. Even inserting several lights fails to reproduce the sparkling effect. Some idea?
Yes, are you using cycles instead of EEVEE, so you need to preview your work in cycles and adjust the settings. Also there’s no glow/bloom in cycles without adding that in the compositor
@@DanielOakfield I swear I'm setup EEVEE!!
Then you should see whatever you see on your EEVEE viewport, unless you are using a different HDRI?
@@DanielOakfield thanks for the help you give me, are very kind.
Despite having reset the default settings, I still see poor rendering and very good shading. Even your project
Can you please check the HDRI is the same?
Other node plz as this
Will do for sure, it takes some time considering it's something I do in my spare time at the moment :)
Any request?
Thanks for the amazing shader! Great job ~
You are very welcome Lilit!
thanks bro
You are welcome my friend
I am speechless and amazed, so dope
Thank you very much :)
how do i apply it to my object
From your project you can go to file > append and select the material, at that point the material is in your file, and you only need to select it from "browse material" on your object.
@@DanielOakfield thank u!!
Thanks so much for the shader!
Enjoy!
Thanks

Wow thanks!!

how i can add this in blender ,
You need to download it from the link in the description, it's a normal Blender file! Let me know how it goes!
@@DanielOakfield Do you open it as a normal Blender file or do you append it to a current open file???? or both. A tutorial on how to use it would serve your viewers well
You can do both :)
What is your pc ram
Hi Umme, this is my workstation at the moment ruclips.net/video/uGS5VP4-jLI/видео.html
I am using 32GB, but honestly not really needed on Blender. Any reason why you ask?
@@DanielOakfield i will buy that much ram for my pc
Thank you so much Sensei !!
My pleasure! Box Meta-san
what are the settings for cycles?
What settings do you mean?
@@DanielOakfield its patchy in render for cycles
If you open my file you can see what settings are there :)
Hey Daniel can you please explain how to apply it to a mesh? Thank you
Within your project, go to append and select the folder with the material. Then the imported material should show in the list of your project materials.
thx!!!!!!!!!!
You are welcome 🙏🏻
Hello, when I change the "size" glitter stays the same. Not like how you are showing on 2:08. Any help would be appreciated.
Check the scale of your mesh, maybe you need to do an “apply scale”?
@@DanielOakfield no sorry, didn't work.
If you can share your blend file I can have a look, get in touch please!
Uhhh... Robot voice. Yuckissimo.
That’s robot shaming!! Haha ok this was a failed experiment in my channel apparently :) thank you for let me know what you think it’s very important for me!
@@DanielOakfield I'm happy you're taking it with humour. I've seen other channels which have a huge number of dislikes for their videos only because of the robot voice - the video and audio content was fine. We don't want you to join the fate of those channels.
It seems that most listeners prefer a nice accent over a robot voice!
But I'm wondering, what software are you using to generate the robot voice?
I can’t disclose my secrets! Maybe I should make a tutorial about it 😅 on Windows you can use the free app called Any Text to Voice, and there are many free voices you can download directly in the Windows’ settings, reality is that the natural speech of some other software is not free, and they sound actually not robotic. What do you think about hiring a voice over person instead?
How do you use this? and get it in to the file
From your blender project go to file - append - and select the material only to import it in your scene! Maybe I should do a tutorial about how to import resources from other files :)
Let me know if it works for you!
DAMN this is cool. Thank you so much
Thank you very much!!! Happy you liked it!
How do you put the shadre into a new file ?
Open your project and go to file append and select the material
Огромное спасибо, супер универсальный шейдер.
Non sono sicuro di sapere che cosa voglia dire!
How do I add it to my object?
From your project you go to file>append and browse the .blend of the shader, you should be able to select what part of the file you need.
You are welcome
ezset hoyts
Hi Denzel, what does it mean?
I feel stupid for having to ask, but how would I go about importing this shader into another project?
Edit: Append, poke some nodes so I can attach it to the existing mix shaders and done! I still feel stupid for asking though
Glad you solved the problem, another way it’s just to copy and paste from one project to the other! You can copy objects or any node/shader between scenes and different files :)
