    Steel Predator sounds like a good name for an awesome 80s hair metal band! 🤘😊

    I’ve tried other PNW makers and had the best experience and final product from Franks. I have two pairs of their boots that I use on the job and they’re great.

    😅 I'm actually uploading my 2 year update on my custom T1 commanders. Right now. Got your upload notification literally as I was typing out my title. You gotta get Mario to get those in for a 6 month update for sure.

    16:29 Something important is that with any of the PNW Brands is how they fix issues. I would like to see a independant business be created for customer service, shipping and try on boots outsourcing. It baffles me with everyone stealing each others employees, sharing materials etc that nobody has created a brand to solve issues in this area. Not to mention no tool maker has gotten around to reviving old school cordwaining tools. They have to scrounge around to find on Ebay 80 year old tools...

      Independent business to handle White's, Frank's, Nick's, and JK's business????
      Adding another layer to complicate, and confuse? Another chance for a ball to drop?
      That they'd all trust to be impartial? To not get bribed?
      So larger builders with economies of scale would give up their advantages and level the playing field?
      That would have to stock a full array of sizes and widths for at least 8 lasts? What is that? 384 pairs of $600 boots for an independent company to stock? Not including duplicates?
      Why would a customer want to deal with the delay and possibly confused communication of not dealing direct?
      And how would this business get paid??? If the answer is a percent of price why would the builder want to give up margin? If it is added cost to customer, why would they want to pay more?
      You are essentially wanting to create a dealer model and give someone a monopoly while toy are at it?
      There is absolutely nothing about any of that that would make sense to anyone......but you are BAFFLED it doesn't exist?????
      It does suck on the tools, machines, and parts. But if it was profitable to make, somebody would be. Those things stopped being available precisely because it wasn't feasible to do so.

    Geat video, love the jacket. Those Franks boots look amazing. Franks is one of my favorite PNW shop here in Spokane, the only company that will allow customers to be involved n fully customize their boots. They built me a fun comic book themed Joker LTT and my recent Batman Monkey boots. The heel on those Steel Predator is what I call a dress heel counter. You can request the longer Work heel(goes to Vamp) for more support/stability. Thanks again for the review

    The White's boots have more inconsistency in welt stitching because they are hand sewn. I think the others are machine stitched. You can't go wrong with any of those manufacturers.

    • @cloveroak5492
      @cloveroak5492 Год назад +1

      The hand sewn is called a Norwegian Welt. White's still does that a lot, but they have been moving away from it a lot lately. Nick's won't do it at all, but Frank's will do Norwegian on request. I have a green pair of Frank's that are Norwegian Welted. (did a RUclips video on them actually)

    Ah, just saw the short! I've been curious about this one for awhile. If the Predator Orange is any indication, these should age beautifully.
    It's also looking like Frank's 55 Last is the one that will fit my foot best (ask Mario if the volume in the Frank's forefoot is larger), so this is very timely!

    • @cloveroak5492
      @cloveroak5492 10 месяцев назад +1

      All 55 lasts are the same last dlso if you are asking if Frank's 55 has more room than someone else's 55, then no. But Frank's has both the 4811 and the 1977...both of which have more toe volume than the 55.

    • @InGrindWeCrust2010
      @InGrindWeCrust2010 10 месяцев назад

      @@cloveroak5492 Some of those 55 lasts may be modified, like Drew's, or at least they build the boots around them differently. I haven't read any reviews that say that Frank's, Nick's, White's, and Drew's all fit the same with a 55 last, of course compensating for the same size.

    • @cloveroak5492
      @cloveroak5492 10 месяцев назад +1

      t2010 none of the Spokane builders use a modified 55 last, only the Mexican Drew's are a modified 55, and they only did it because they couldn't offer as many widths and a marketing device.
      It wouldn't be logical for Spokane builders to modify the 55 they offer, and if they did, they would give it a new number instead of 55...because it in fact wouldn't be a 55 anymore. They all have seamingly endless width options to give more or less room. And I don't know if the others still offer it, but Frank's will definitely modify a specific build upon request. To make room for toes, bunyans, etc.
      Now, they don't all use the same upper patterns, so that can certainly be different with each builder. That can certainly make someone feel different about, say, their Nick's 55 and their Frank's 55, for example. Custom uppers can also be requested from Frank's. I think Nick's stopped? White's I'd guess still does too.

    Are those boots actually steel toe or is it just the work leather toe cap that makes it so resilient?

    The only thing I don't like about Frank's is this last is super wide at the toe. Looks kind of clownish.

    • @cloveroak5492
      @cloveroak5492 Год назад

      Frank's has last styles that are much narrower at the toe.
