    Nice! My father bought these tires for his Edge. Also, these are all weather tires as opposed to all season. Difference is A/W tires have the 3-peak mountain snowflake rating while A/S tires have the M+S rating only.

    Thanks for the video. I am looking at those cross climate tires also. I have those bridgestone tires on my highlander also. The road noise is not good. I had the Michelin Defender LTX on a VW Atlas and they were really quiet and great for control and wet driving. I think those cross climate tires are probably the best bet since they are snow rated too.

    I guess some of the other people experience will vary on the type of the vehicle and application. Highlander has the capacity to mute or buffer road noise condition because of the way they have the glass made and some insulation added on the vehicle. Gas mileage was not provided if they are actually affectig the rolling resistance.

    • @vietbubbletea

      That's not a bad price. Costco retailed the CC2s for a 20inch rim at $238.99 per tire and with the $150 off promo, that works out to $805.96 for the set of 4 before taxes or mount and balancing. The sale happens annually and just ended on 10/24. $840 is still a fair price.

    Thank you for the review. Can you also report if any MPG decrease from these tires. I understand there is a 3-4 MPG decrease.

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  2 года назад +3

      Sure, I'll keep track of the mpg and report my findings after my next fill up at the pump. I will say that mileage will depend on several factors that are outside of a controlled environment that will impact our mpg. I work from home and have very little miles on my car so it's been a month since I had to fill up my gas tank which had the summer blend and typically gives us better mpg. I finally filled my gas tank last week when I was at Costco and they have switched to the winter blend so it is expected for mpg to be reduced. Although it's also been raining a ton in Seattle the past week that can impact my rolling resistance, I honestly can feel the car glide longer on the road compared to the previous Bridgestone Alenzas. I also think mpg is subjective based on the previous tires you have. Here's an article I read about their own mpg experience that increased mpg. I'll keep ya posted!

    Did the Michelin defender ltx come to mind? And if it did, what made you choose cross climate over the defender? What are you going to do with the Alenza? The Alenza is freaking noisy. I hate it. Is 32 decibel the sound of Mother Earth?

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  2 года назад +2

      The sound of mother earth! lol The Michelin Defender LTX are a great option that offers a quiet ride and a longer 70K mile warranty compared to the 60K Crossclimate 2s, if I lived in a state that was warm all year round like Cali or Florida, I would've definitely went with the Defenders. Two main reasons I went with the Crossclimate 2s is for the 3PMSF winter stamp which can handle more harsher icy roads as I plan to have some fun in the snow in my AWD Highlander and there are many hills here in Seattle and the Defenders don't have that certification. This would mean that I would need to get another set of winter tires if Im trying to drive through the central mountain passes here in Washington state and I only have a one car garage that is already full of stuff so I don't have space to store another set of tires to alternate with 3 other cars in my driveway. For me, its these personal factors on top of not needing to spend the extra money to get another set of winter tires that has the 3PMSF stamp and drag those into my trunk every winter season to swap them out. I hope that helps!

    Great review! I probably did the same extensive research you did, wanting better wet and snow performance, and also decided on the Cross Climate 2s for my RDX. I could tell that they are a tad noisier at lower speeds than the stock Continentals. I also don’t pick up as much speed going down the same hills so I’m sure my gas mileage will suffer (but I’ve never kept track of that so can’t tell you by how much). The increase in traction however is phenomenal! I’m convinced that the stock tires were only selected to minimize noise and maximize fuel economy. • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  2 года назад

      Mines are quiet at residential and highway speeds. If you've already checked the alignment, the only thing I can think of is one of the wheels may be put on the wrong side of the car. These tires are directional so double check that the thread pattern has the v arrow pointing the forward and not towards the back of the car. Some tire shops don't pay attention to this.

      If you're referring to the side wall protecting the rim from curbing, it provides some but I never worry about that since my car has birds eye view cameras. If you're referring rim protection driving over railroad tracks or pot holes then that depends on the size of the rim. I have 20 inch rims so I always slow down going over raised railroad tracks but if you have 18s, you could coast and not feel the impact as much with a longer sidewall.

If you check out my channel I made a recent video of my trip to Snoqualmie Pass and I had no issues driving through 6 inches of snow in 17° F temps.
      Here is a video that sold me on getting them.

    Hi, why did you unninstall your hood deflector? Was not good?

      The hood deflector is still installed and I love it. You're probably watching an older video if you look at my video channel listing in order.

    I have a 21 Venza how is the comfort when going over bumps? I live in Chicago and I am curious how they are over bumps

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  2 года назад

      My tires are currently pumped to 36psi and I usually slow down before driving over speed bumps and elevated railroad tracks as the bumps can be hard. I can't really blame the tires for that as it's mainly due to the bigger 20inch rims compared to the 18inch rims that have a longer side wall for added comfort and better gas mileage. Not sure if that answers your question.

    They are not winter tyres, I have driven on them in minus 2 and they lacked the grip i'm used to with winter tyres, just my experience

    Has anyone noticed significant MPG drop on the hybrid highlanders with the cross climate 2s?

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  Год назад

      No significant drop in my Hybrid, still getting 34 mpg in the summer and this is with running boards and cross bars installed which people have claimed to be mileage killers but that has not been the case for me. Great and quiet tires in my experience!

      I've had them on my AWD Suzuki Vitara for about 1000miles and noticed about 5% fuel drop, but I can live with that as they have been solid in UK autumn weather so far. Wet, dry, raining, flooded. It has been v warm autumn. Not had any frost or snow yet. Did my half yearly 5 in 1 STP petrol system cleaner and the MPG returned to about usual level. I had mid level summer tyres on previously.

    those croosclimate2 are installed in the wrong direction or not?

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  2 года назад

      @Juan Vilchez Nope, they are directional tires and the arrow pattern should be facing towards the front of the car to force water to the side walls.

    Did you have to wait two hours while they fitted your tyres at Costco? Slowest tyre fitters in the world.

    • @vietbubbletea

      I made an online appt a few weeks in advance and went shopping while they mounted the tires, I'd say 30 minutes and I was out.

    I just got these, and they seem nice, but took a huge MPG hit... not sure if because of winter blend or if its the tires?

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  2 года назад +1

      I'm curious to find out too. I'll do a follow-up video once I put 5K miles on them and filled up the gas tank at least two on the winter blend.
