HP Envy 4500 Service station stall/carriage jam error how to fix

This shows how to fix either a carriage jam that may have been caused by the service station blocking the carriage movement or if an error that says 'Service Station Stalled' and you have tried to let the printer automatically reset itself.

Thank you! More or less the same thing worked on my HP Envy 5055. It was frustrating because the only apparent reason it got stuck in the first place is that slightly bumping the cabinet which the printer was on caused the access door to fall shut by itself while a cartridge was removed (and I think the cartridge bay's latch was up, too).

What if the little rail system doesn’t reset after you get it in the correct position? My ink carriage moves fine now, but that print carriage is stuck... hmm

WHY DID IT JAM?

It can jam for a number of reasons. Normally if the device gets confused when starting up or can be a paper jam. In the video, I caused it jam on purpose to make the video after figuring out what the problem to help others fix the problem.

Now mine is unstuck but when I plug it back in nothing comes up…..no power….the printer is just dead 😩
