Looking into getting into embroidery instead of long-arm as a hobby to spend time with my 86 year old grandmother, and I had NO idea the designs could be so intricate. I love the depth and detail of your videos and I will be ordering your book for sure! Thank you so much for your content!
I have had your program for several years now, finally getting around to your RUclips tutorial. Wow it’s amazing when you see how it is supposed to work and read the instructions 😂 awesome tutorial. Thank you I do find your method very user friendly
I have the book, and three other of your CD's and did a Quilt of Valor; A Queen with the flowers, and the squiggle with just the large quilt. I sent pictures which your husband said he would forward on. Thank You. I love your designs! How blessed and talented your are Christine!
I purchased your book and followed your guides and my quilt came out great. Thank you for creating this so I to can quilt on my machine rather than a long arm. I will use them many times I'm sure.
Just got a Baby Lock Journey for my 60th birthday (got it early since it is still 6 months away)! I love to make quilts but hated that I had to take even my smallest quilts to the quilt shop to be quilted...excited to try this new technique...just got your book...looking forward to trying...
I received your book today I was so excited that I have already made a set of templates. But I was also was impressed with the info, I have been considering buying a long arm, now with your patterns I will not have too , for a little over $450.00, I am all set, included in the money that I spent I have a Dime shortE coming. I will be taking with the women here & hope they will love this product as much as I know I will. Don't stop keep up the great work, & Thank You Donna Fields
Just got your book today at my local shop. We had a lesson on edge to edge quilting with our embroidery machine through another designer but our instructor showed us your book and told us it was a great way to learn the technique. I love the music one as my hubby plays the trombone, so I’m always look for musical stuff. I can’t wait to get into your book and learn this technique really well. Loved this video, it was so clear and easy to follow. Love the tip about the double sided tape. I will be looking for that. Thanks again
Wow I cant believe I found a recent comment I have a question if you could help. I have an embroidery machine but I dont really use it, singer futura quartet...i dont feel its very easy to use. Could this work on that machine or do I need a special hoop? Are there any other ideas or resources you think would help? Thanks.
All are beautiful! I am very new to quilting and watching how I can do quilting with machine. I have been quilting with hand before. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your really nice comment! It was the first thing I read when I woke up this morning. I am so motivated to digitize today!!!! As for the book, we are going into our 8th printing soon, and we are working on Expansion 3. :o)
I purchased the edge-to-edge book, patterns, and expansion packs 1 & 2. Used the Kitty design on a lap quilt and it came out beautiful. So easy to use. Love your designs and easy to follow instructions.
This book is great. Very informative and easy directions. thank you. After I have done a few quilts, I will order equipment packs. this is really a value if you think about it as you give 10 patterns is like $3.50 a pattern with a free instruction book professionally done. thanks and I hope you keep creating more as I am a new quilter.
I have been playing with this all day, and now I think I have got it. Since I have a 12 needle emb. machine, I had to figure out a few things. Settings are a bit different. I am going to see if reducing design A, and then reducing design B, the exact same amount, will work. I have a 10 inch magnetic hoop that holds a quilt sandwich very tightly, and I want to make the design a bit smaller to fit in it. I think this idea is genius and I am going to use it on the quilt I am making now. Really cool! I am going to buy expansion packs as well. We can do so many things now on our emb. machines!! I just cannot figure out how to bring up my bobbin thread on a 12 needle. It does not have a needle-down position. I am going to call tech support and see if they can help me. If anyone knows, I welcome suggestions!
I just want to share with my quilting/embroidery friends to Please create a sample Sandwich to test your Tension before putting the quilt under the needle. I used another competitors' design and stitched out a few rows and have to rip it all out due to EYELASHES and where there's a V design you can see the topstitch pulled. No one in all of the youtubes I searched showed doing this beforehand. So learn from my mistakes. I was so excited about starting to quilt by my embroidery machine I went from one to the other. Note: I have quilted one before without any problems. I don't know why this was different. Plus someone suggested stitching over the tail ends and this created knots all over the back! So I looked up Leah Day's utubes on burying the threads and then no one can see where you started each section and will make sure I do it this way. So I'm chalking this up as yet another learning experience!! So I'll go slower, wind top thread on the bobbin using the same color, and I'm sure I had a new needle when I started. Happy Quilting!
Thanks for sharing your comments, Mary. However, I am afraid that you are sharing comments about another company’s designs and their youtube support on my channel. These comments do not really apply to my product. In our book, Edge to Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine, we discuss knots on page 4. We do not talk about tension in the book, because that is a machine issue, not a design issue. Occasionally though, our customers reach out to us about tension issues and we help them as much as we can. Here are some general ideas we share with our customers about eye-lashing, when they reach out to us. Eye-lashing is ALWAYS a machine tension issue. Your bobbin tension is too tight, and it is pulling the top thread to the back. You may also need to clean out your bobbin area. All of my designs have a knot programmed into the beginning and end of each pattern. There is no need to stitch over stitches with my designs. In fact, I recommend in my book/classes that you have the two points “kissing”, not overlapping. It will look better on the back. Last, I with my designs there is no need to slow down my machine! I hope this is helpful!
Saw this at the Cleveland Sewing and Quilting Expo! Amazing! I can't wait to try this! Would love to see an animal lover and toddler/children design groups.
Thank you so much just found your book and designs. I have been wanting to be able to do this for so long so now I am on a learning quest to finish up some of the stack of quilt tops. Thanks again and keep the designs coming!!
I have a Brother SE 400 which has a max 4x4 hoop. I just discovered quilting on my embroidery machine yesterday. After watching a few other videos here on RUclips I'm really excited to try this technique. I am always disappoint when designs are not available for my machine. I have had some success using a iPad program to split designs or lift element out of a design and reconstructing them in multiple hoopings. I wish designers would just consider us little guys sometimes. Even people who own the monster embroidery machines may find smaller designs useful for some projects. I love this method and found this video very helpful. I'd probably buy the book, if I knew that I could use the designs.
+Heather Parker I too have the Brother SE400 and was thinking about using this idea. I brought the larger hoop and I hope I can use her designs. Fingers Crossed!!!
Doesn't work with a 4x4 hoop at all. Larger hoop won't make different their file sizes will NOT work with a machine that is only meant for the small hoop.
Amelie Scott Came in the mail today... I am so excited to try it out. I have a PE 770 that I've used to create quilt blocks but always wanted to do more with it. I'll post pics later. Thanks
The first thing I saw was the guitar in the background! I play too!! This looks like a great way to use my Janome embroidery machine and venture into quilting
Purchased your book...received today and so excited. Only to find out I do not have the hoop sizes noted on back. Have a janome MC 500E. So disappointed...so hoping there is a way
I am so sorry to hear that. There are a few sellers on the internet that don’t list the size requirements , so I am guessing that is what happened? On our website, we list all the stitch field size requirements. Can you e-mail us at notices@ameliescott.com? Mark may be able to do something for you. I have a few 5 x 7 designs that I can send your way, but I can’t do so through You Tube. Mark will be expecting an e-mail from you Shirley.
Dianna Hall- It takes me about 8 hours to quilt a twin size quilt, but I don't do anything except watch the machine, re hoop, and maybe watch TV. I wish I could stop time though. How cool would that be!
I take it you bought the Autumn Table Topper from Connecting Threads. I'm really glad that you like it. I am their machine embroidery file guinea pig. It's the first time they have put out a pattern with embroidery files. I hope to do more with them! Love their fabrics too!
Amelie Scott Yes, I did get the Autumn Table Topper from Connecting Threads. Love that place. Hope they do offer more embroidery. This method looks so easy to do, and I've got loads of tops to quilt. Seems I like piecing, but quilting is a whole different story. Perhaps I'll love this method. Keep up the great work!
great tutorial! i do use embroidery and use 40 wt thread. but understanding this is quilting. and the back of the quilt matters. would love to know what is the weight of your thread and type?
Thanks! The embroidery thread that I quilt with all the time is a 40wt embroidery. The thread Brands that I use are Floriani, exquisite thread, and Kingstar metallic thread. I use the same thread in the bobbin as well. Magnetic hoops are a game changer for quilting. My Snap Hoop Monsters cut my time in half!!! We have a Core Class coming up in Feb on the 15 & 16. The class in through Byrne Sewing. It is a virtual class over zoom so anyone can sign up.
@@AmelieScott perfect! last question, if you dont mind, i have issues with the back of quilt with the stitches not being as smooth as the front. any aevice?
My newest book of yours “ Custom Quilting…did NOT come with a Cd. Is this proper and okay? Excited . Also have Edge to Edge book of yours -- no cd and Expansion packs 2 and 5. Will use my best Bernina embroidery machine! Marie in Hot Phoenix, AZ
We have moved away from CD’s because the computer technology has change and new computers don’t come with a CD drive any more. If you need help with downloading files, please go to support@ameliescott.com
Did you put stabilizer behind the quilt? If so, what kind and how did you do it? This looks really interesting. I just started embroidery about 9 months ago, and would really like to quilt the quilts I make. Any advice you can give is welcomed. Thanks for your tutorials I just found them.
Chris Burrelli Congratulations on your new baby! How exciting! Make sure you take all your dealer lessons. Yes, the book and expansion pack 1, 2, and 3 are all available.
I have a bernina 765, I just purchased the dime jumbo hoop, my machine shows the jumbo hoop however on the left side it has a straight edge and the right side is curved can I re calibrate for the new hoop without having a issue because I want to order your products I just love them
Donna Fields you will loose about 3” on the left side. I wish Dime would come out with a Maxi size hoop. You can still use it for E2E, but keep I’m mind 3” is not there.
You Tube will generally be able to caption the audio for deaf or hard of hearing people. I like it, cause I can watch videos during work. Can you make your videos captioned?
I have this product and have enjoyed it. I am doing the design Spring. First stitch out was fine but second time it stitched over already stitched . What is happening? Can you give me help. I am using the magnetic hoop
@@paullettegreeno248 Sounds like you are not connecting the B file to the A file. Do you own the Edge to Edge Quilting on Your EMbroidery Machine book? The entire method is laid out in that publication. It’s a great book as we are celebration 10 years of it being a top selling book.
+ygarrone Lately I have been using Floriani Polyester on both the top and bottom. I have also used Superior quilting on the top and a pre wound by Fil-tec on the bottom. Tug on the top thread before you put it in your machine and make sure it does;t break easily. You want strong thread. Also, watch the Q & A video with Leslie. She asked tons of questions!
Love love this technique BUT my biggest hoop is 6.69 x 7.87 inches. It's an 170x200mm Janome hoop. This means I cannot use your book and designs doesn't it? Will you be making the designs any smaller later on because I would love to purchase the book and designs. Yvonne
Yes, you can use her designs, you just have to use the Medium and not the large. Right now Amazon has the Expansion Pack 5 for $15.00. I paid $75.00 for all my CD's and stuff, so that is a deal!
my first embroidery could only handle small hoops, it just requires more re-hooping. but i am guessing that this wouldn't work well with edge to edge quilting because the design has to repeat in order to align the designs so they appear continuous and for you to do this on smaller hoops would make the designs minute and would take days to embroider. also bear in mind the cost of the larger embroidery machines buys you other things which help immensely such as line-up and scanning facilities so the designs can be aligned with the pieced blocks unless you only make plain quilts.
Hi, I just purchased this from you and wanted to know if you had ever used the warm and natural batting. The batting you recommend is not available locally and I usually use the warm and natural and have a good supply on hand. Thanks, Sheri
I have been watching many of your videos in anticipation of an embroidery machine purchase and am wondering how do you create the templates? I apologize if this is a ridiculous question. I saw on Annie’s that I can take your classes which is awesome. Thanks much!!
I just bought your Edge to Edge Quilting with Embroidery Machine. I am also looking for a similar embroidery quilting file, for a baby quilt, that has truck, tractors and airplanes similar to the baby bottle and rattler design included in the CD. Any recommendations.
I purchased your book today and am anxious to get started. I sent a question to one of the You Tube presenters of your method and I wanted to check her answer with you. I already have my quilt top done WITH TWO BORDERS. I asked if I could do your edge to edge with borders already sewn on. The answer I got was that I could do the edge to edge quilting and stop before the borders begin or I could extend the quilting to the ends of the border. In all the hundreds of quilts I've done, the borders were always a different stitch/design. Is quilting the borders and quilt top in one continuous pattern something new? What do you suggest.
Hi Grace1. Love your name. So edge to edge quilting goes from one end of the quilt to the other end with one design over the entire quilt. This includes borders. When you start doing a different design on a border, then you are talking about custom quilting. Many people have asked me to creat border designs to go with the existing designs, but this has always been a difficult concept un until this week. I have just started working on a new book that will include edge to edge in the center, with border designs. In the meantime, you can stop the design right before it gets to the border, but in a few months, I will have an easy and beautiful solution.
@@AmelieScott Thank you for your prompt reply. I read your book cover to cover. The quilt pictured on the front of your book (also on page 21) shows a quilt with two borders and you have sewn edge-to-edge. What I was asking: Is it acceptable to do edge-to-edge to include the borders? I think I would like to try that method.
Pat -- a few months ago, our last functioning disk duplicator died, and we had to shift to downloads using a serial number. The problem was, we still had books that said "CD" on the front cover. We didn't want to throw away over $1000 of books, so we added a sticker to the back inside cover with download instructions, and hoped that people would forgive us. If your book doesn't have a sticker and a serial number in the inside cover, please email a picture of your book to support@ameliescott.com, and I'll help. -- Mark
I have your book but have a question about the small, medium and large designs. Why would you use one rather than another? Not sure what this means. Thanks
It would depend on what size designs or the size of your frames for your machine. I hope this makes sense. Check your owners manual to see which size you can use.
I always use the largest file for my machine when I am quilting a quilt because I have less hooping. We give the files in 3 different sizes because not every machine can accommodate a 13.5" x 7.25" design. Please check your manual to see what size design your machine can accommodate. The sizes are 5.5" X 10", 6.5" x 11.5", and 7.25" x 13.5".
Hopefully you'll see these comments, I've been ill for both classes you gave at So-So Forth on Transit Rd in Depew,NY under the management of Karen Stumf. What is your template size and hoop size for practice? How do you graph your columns so the stitching is symmetrical? Thank you for this marvelous technique!
Hi Phyllis--this is Christine. I am afraid I have not taught any Edge to Edge Classes at that shop. my technique is super easy, and it is all explained in the Edge to Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine book. I am sure your shop owner has copies available if they are teaching the technique!
Christine Connor or Amelie Scott I only make queen and king size quilts, are those too bulky to use the embroidery machine method? I do FMQ (free motion quilting) on mine but I am always looking for something different to try. I have 4 quilts in need of quilting right now.
+Brenda Mash I recommend large twin size. Other people have e-mailed me to let me know they have done larger quilts. One lady did a 120 x 120, but she used some split method to join the two halves together. Anyone out there done a queen or a king and want to weigh in?
Amy I love this! I am so new to all this and have a silly question. I have a husqavarna Viking Sapphire with so many stitches' but no hoop. I assume your technique can not be used by my machine? I am so sad!
I have an edge to Edge core class (1-1/2days or three 4 hour days) were I go through the Edge to edge process. I do most of the live demos on the Dime Snap Hoop Monsters and the BabyLock Solaris machine. The class is available through stores. It is sold as a work book. Any store can order a workbook for you. The class is virtual. If interested, All Brands has some books in stock right now, and Pine Needle sewing is having a class next week and they have some open spots.
I’m sorry Shari. I misunderstood. I don’t use the IQ designer on the Solaris since I have grown accustom to using digitizing software. My software allows me to have more control than IQ designer. However, I do use the Snap Hoop Monster magnetic hoop, and I show everyone how to ditch the template on the second column. Since the class is a walk through of the entire technique, I do use a template on the first column, but we I quilt these days, with the Solaris, I never make a template. That machine has so many bells and whistles, and with the projector, the template is not needed.
@@AmelieScott I can’t find a place to take your class. It would be helpful if you had the places on your website. Maybe link to the classes. I gave up trying to find one with the list provided.
@@smed0416 I’ll provide some more information, but before I do, the best way to get answers to questions is to use the Help/FAQ link on our web site, www.ameliescott.com. Let me clarify something about our class - we hold up to two Edge-to-Edge Quilting Academy Core classes each month, hosted over zoom. If you purchase a course workbook from a participating dealer, you will have the information you need to register for a class on our Events calendar. This class is a Dealer Exclusive product, so do not sell the workbooks directly on our site. However, if you review the Academy information on our web site, there is a link to a full list of all the dealers that sell our workbooks. After thinking about your question, I realize that I should put the link up front on our web site, so I’ll do that soon. Here is the link. ameliescott.com/academy-stores/ I hope this helps.
I think I am using the BERNINA 880 in this video. When you buy an embroidery machine, the most important thing is to buy is from a good dealership that has lots of classes and support. Most machine shops offer free classes to help you learn your machine. All brands of machines have machines with great features, and they are all slightly different, so definitely do a comparison. You also want the machine dealership to be close by, in case their is some new user error, ad you need some help. :o). I have been sewing and embroidering for years, and just the other day I had to call my shop up and ask the owner, what was going on with my machine. (I had left the single hole throat plate on, and could not figure out why I couldn’t stitch a zig zag stitch. LOL) My dealer is awesome! That is what you want!!!!!!
listen. it took me a while to figure this out, but i have the swing of it now. i have masterworks AND corel draw, so i can create any pattern i want. but i knew there had to be a way to do this.
Good for you! It also took me a while to figure it out, and even longer to write the book so that people could easily understand my method. (The files are an important part of the method, but there is more to it than just the files.) Now, I also know there are a lot of people out there that do not have the time or patience to digitize. My book and method are great for them.
Do you do any shows in Texas, ( maybe the Houston Quilt Festival in November 2017? I (and others ) would love to see you live, I tend to spend more otherwise I am a little conservative.. Thank you
I have a Bernina 750 QE and would like to know if I can take the CD and load to my Apple MacBook Pro and then transfer to the memory stick. Apple does not always play well with things formatted for Windows. Has this question come up with anyone else? Please let me know as I have been looking for something like this. Thank so much!
+Beatriz Moser I don't use Singer machines, but customers have contacted us and told us they can read other file formats. Please talk with your dealer or check the manual, about that. When we wrote the book, no Singer machine could handle the size of our designs according to the list we had at the time. That is why we excluded the XXX format off. The latest top of the line singer machines can read a design up to a 10" design, and our smallest design is 5.6" x 9.9" which does not give you much room for connecting. If you can reduce both A & B files 10% you will have better results. I hope this information is helpful.
Marie-Claude I’m not sure what you mean by “drawing series” but for most of my quilting and embroidery I use floriani embroidery thread and a 75 embroidery needle. It seems to work really well with all of my machines. I also use the same embroidery thread in the bobbin.
I have a 6 needle machine and bought your product....my question is, what is the purpose of pulling the bobbin thread up, I have not been able to do that. Thanks,
I design for home machines, so things are probably a bit different with the professional models. When quilting, you want to bring the bobbin up to the top along with about 6-8" of the top thread. Then you can pull both threads to the back (when the machine has stopped) tie a tiny quilter's knot and sink the knot into the batting. However, the designs do have tie offs programed at the beginning and the end points. With a quilt, I like the extra protection of an additional knot on the back.
what I didn't see or hear explained ( and really important to us)....is, what we do when your pattern extends beyond our quilt top width... or your pattern extends beyond our quilt length...?
Hi Carla! This is a promo video about our book. There is a bunch of information in the book that I don't talk about on the video including the question that you have above. It is a very easy method though!
Nancy's Notions. You can get her book with disk one separately, then all her expansion packs (9) in one purchase. Unfortunately, it's not downloadable, you have to get the actual CD's.
The cost are too high for us to put the designs on to USB drives so that is why we stick to CD's. My computer doesn't have a CD drive either, but I was able to pick one up to attach to my computer and it wasn't very expansive. I think I paid $40.00 USD for it.
Christine, I figured out how to do this, and I chose the PLAIN design, dst, from your original book. I printed both templates at 100%. I lined up the templates and the center of the template with my needle on my emb. machine. Yet when I stitched up B, it is off by about 1/4 inch. I cannot figure out why. Even my husband says they are not lining up. I made sure to make sure the tops were up, etc. I cannot figure out what is wrong. Any ideas?
First of all I don't print a template. I stitch it, pg 5 of the book. When I am getting ready to do the B column, I fold back the cloth template so I can see the starting point. Then I place that starting point right next to the end point of the prior A design on the quilt. I pin the template in place, and then hoop around the template. Since the template is the same size s the hoop, this is easy to do. That gets you pretty close. I remove the cloth template, and use the positioning feature to move the needle over so it is kissing the end point of the prior design. If you would like to take a virtual class, I am offering one through Millcreek Sewing and Fabric in Erie PA on April 23rd & 24th. You would need to contact that shop if you want to sign up for the class. There was was at an earlier time, but it filled up.

Hi Nan, These are machine embroidery designs. When you purchase the book, there is a CD in the back of the book. You would need to load the CD into your computer, and then transfer it to a USB drive for you embroidery machine. Our Expansion packs are additional designs that can be purchased, but there are no instructions in those packs, and they can be purchased as downloadable files. The book is just too large a file to offer as a download. I hope that answered your question! --Christine

Annie's Craft Store, and Nancy Notion's sells our book too. Annie's Craft store has a video that I made for them last year for sale as well.
In this overview, you used Template A for the 1st column of designs. Then, when you moved to the right for the 2nd column, you used Template B. If your quilt is wider and you have to move to the right again for a 3rd, 4th, 5th columns; which Template do you use? Do you alternate B and A as you move to the right?? OR is Template A only used for the 1st column and any columns thereafter one would use Template B ??? Thanks!

I hope this is helpful!
fantastic video, I am from the older generation and visual works for me, learn so much. BIG thank you.
Bought the book and Jumbo patterns
Saw this at the Cleveland Sewing and Quilting Expo! Amazing! I can't wait to try this! Would love to see an animal lover and toddler/children design groups.
Currently finishing up Applewood Farm. It will be a GREAT kid appliqué quilt. I will create an edge to edge design to go with it too.
Even people who own the monster embroidery machines may find smaller designs useful for some
projects. I love this method and found this video very helpful. I'd probably buy the book, if I knew that I could use the designs.
+Heather Parker I too have the Brother SE400 and was thinking about using this idea. I brought the larger hoop and I hope I can use her designs. Fingers Crossed!!!
Hi Kirstie and Heather, I also have the SE400. Did you have any luck with her designs. I bought the larger hoop but haven't tried it yet.
Doesn't work with a 4x4 hoop at all. Larger hoop won't make different their file sizes will NOT work with a machine that is only meant for the small hoop.
Just ordered my edge to edge book and the expansion pack! So excited can't wait to try these!
...and I'm running to the post office right now! I think you will really love the results!

Came in the mail today... I am so excited to try it out. I have a PE 770 that I've used to create quilt blocks but always wanted to do more with it. I'll post pics later. Thanks
Would love to see your pictures
I'm really looking forward to learning this technique so I can quilt my own work!
The first thing I saw was the guitar in the background! I play too!! This looks like a great way to use my Janome embroidery machine and venture into quilting
Linda Champney I play classical, folk, and a little bit of rock n roll! What do you play?
Thank you for sharing Amelie. Very informative as I'm just learning free motion and art quilting.
Dianna Hall- It takes me about 8 hours to quilt a twin size quilt, but I don't do anything except watch the machine, re hoop, and maybe watch TV. I wish I could stop time though. How cool would that be!
Have fun and send photos if you can!
These are awesome! I love them as much as I loved that Autumn Table Topper pattern!
@@AmelieScott thank you! but when using edge to edge quilting do you use 40 wt embroidery cotton? or 40wt embroidery polyester? (shiny or non shiny)
I use polyester embroidery thread these days. I like the shiny.

Did you put stabilizer behind the quilt? If so, what kind and how did you do it? This looks really interesting. I just started embroidery about 9 months ago, and would really like to quilt the quilts I make. Any advice you can give is welcomed. Thanks for your tutorials I just found them.
I absolutely love the idea, however, my hoop size is only 5 x 12. You have beautiful stuff in the book and the expansion pack.
Christine, Pretty quilts!! Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a smaller design pack my Janome 300E cannot handle this large of an embroidery design
I just bought a sewing/embroidery machine and very excited after watching your videos. I was wondering if this book is still available?

Fabulous video, so easy to follow. Just wondering if it's possible to purchase individual designs, please?
I have a bernina 765, I just purchased the dime jumbo hoop, my machine shows the jumbo hoop however on the left side it has a straight edge and the right side is curved can I re calibrate for the new hoop without having a issue because I want to order your products I just love them

@@paullettegreeno248 Sounds like you are not connecting the B file to the A file. Do you own the Edge to Edge Quilting on Your EMbroidery Machine book? The entire method is laid out in that publication. It’s a great book as we are celebration 10 years of it being a top selling book.
Amelie Love your video about Edge to Edge Quilting. Can you tell us what Threads you use on top and on the bobbin please.
+Amelie Scott - Thanks for replying and telling me what threads and bobbin you have used.

Thank you for video on your process of Edge to Edge
Love love this technique BUT my biggest hoop is 6.69 x 7.87 inches. It's an 170x200mm Janome hoop. This means I cannot use your book and designs doesn't it?
Will you be making the designs any smaller later on because I would love to purchase the book and designs. Yvonne
ygarrone just reduce the design to fit your hoop
Yes, you can use her designs, you just have to use the Medium and not the large. Right now Amazon has the Expansion Pack 5 for $15.00. I paid $75.00 for all my CD's and stuff, so that is a deal!
Amelie, I have a Singer XL 4200? It comes with a continuous hoop. Should I use that for your process or the largest hoop?
Can software some people have change the size of the designs to accommodate our hoop sizes?
Hello Amelle, I love your patterns, this is exactly what I have been looking for. What kind of machine did you do this on?
my first embroidery could only handle small hoops, it just requires more re-hooping. but i am guessing that this wouldn't work well with edge to edge quilting because the design has to repeat in order to align the designs so they appear continuous and for you to do this on smaller hoops would make the designs minute and would take days to embroider. also bear in mind the cost of the larger embroidery machines buys you other things which help immensely such as line-up and scanning facilities so the designs can be aligned with the pieced blocks unless you only make plain quilts.
These were great instructions.
I just bought your Edge to Edge Quilting with Embroidery Machine. I am also looking for a similar embroidery quilting file, for a baby quilt, that has truck, tractors and airplanes similar to the baby bottle and rattler design included in the CD. Any recommendations.
These look amazing, exactly what i have been looking for! Do you have any designs for a smaller hoop? My hoop is 5 x 7.
Our Celebrate Machine Embroidery has project, including 3 quilting designs for 5" x 7" hoops. Our Edge to Edge products will be too large.
This is so neat. My machine does only 4x4, would this work on it?
@@gracebarnes-filo6895 Absolutely! Just continue stitching the same design right over the borders.
Do you need to change tensions? My curves tend to have "eyelashes"
Thank you for your reply. I shall order an expansion pack in downloadable format later today.
Hello fellow Texas! My biggest hoop is a 5x7 with a repo hoop that is 7 x 14. Would this work with what I have?
+Marilyn Listener I don't know what a repo hoop is? Is this a Texas thang? I been out of state for about 10 years. :o(
It's a re-positionable hoop, clips on in position 1, then you move It to position 2.
I bought the book and finally got to try to use it. No cd in the book looks like it just got missed so what do I do?
Pat -- a few months ago, our last functioning disk duplicator died, and we had to shift to downloads using a serial number. The problem was, we still had books that said "CD" on the front cover. We didn't want to throw away over $1000 of books, so we added a sticker to the back inside cover with download instructions, and hoped that people would forgive us.
If your book doesn't have a sticker and a serial number in the inside cover, please email a picture of your book to support@ameliescott.com, and I'll help.

I'm making music note templates and trying out my first quilt today!
Hi like the idea of being able to quilt in a hoop, where can I get this product in the UK?
Amazon
You do need an embroidery machine to stitch out the designs.
I want a video on using the babylock Solaris and your patterns. Using the projector.
@@AmelieScott does that mean the class will show how to import your edge to edge design into iq and then quilt without the paper temples?

Too bad I didn't see this special offer BEFORE I bought the book and the expansion packs! ;-) I have yet to try this on a quilt -- I need to get busy!
I have a 4"x4" embroidery hoop on my Brother PE500. Are your templates compatible?
What machine are you using? I want to do this but don't have an embroidery machine yet. So what machine do you have?
Hi my sister and I have purchased your designs plus expansion 1 and 2. We have being trying to print off the templates..how do we do that please?
Do you demonstrate at any quilt shows? I have tried this but I am having problems doing side B.

Christine, my question is: When you hoop one way with A
Then hoop with B. Do you continue that procedure? If so does the quilt
get wonky.
Hi Lynda! Yes, you are correct, and no I have not had a wonky quilt to date.
:o)
I use a magnet hoop like monster magnet hoop. I have better controle.
listen. it took me a while to figure this out, but i have the swing of it now. i have masterworks AND corel draw, so i can create any pattern i want. but i knew there had to be a way to do this.
Good for you! It also took me a while to figure it out, and even longer to write the book so that people could easily understand my method. (The files are an important part of the method, but there is more to it than just the files.) Now, I also know there are a lot of people out there that do not have the time or patience to digitize. My book and method are great for them.
Hi Amelie,
Would this work with my Designer Ruby by Husqvarna?
Yes if it has machine embroidery capability.
Do you do any shows in Texas, ( maybe the Houston Quilt Festival in November 2017? I (and others ) would love to see you live, I tend to spend more otherwise I am a little conservative.. Thank you
I MUST have your product!!! Genious
Would it be easier not to have a connector and just the design?
Is there a way to download the CD as I have the book and misplaced the CD.
Can you use the Edge to Edge in a quilt as you go technique
I have a Bernina 750 QE and would like to know if I can take the CD and load to my Apple MacBook Pro and then transfer to the memory stick. Apple does not always play well with things formatted for Windows. Has this question come up with anyone else? Please let me know as I have been looking for something like this. Thank so much!
hi, I bought a singer embroidery machine but I think I can only get designs with XXX format. what can i do? your book is what i have been looking for
+Beatriz Moser I don't use Singer machines, but customers have contacted us and told us they can read other file formats.
+Amelie Scott what about format conversion? can't she just run it through a program to convert it to xxx?
Never knew could do this, so ThankYou!!!
I bought your first drawing series. I would like to know what type of thread you are using and the type of needle?
With a quilt, I like the extra protection of an additional knot on the back.
honestly you are so cute - Love this - great work
This CD work in the dream Machine ???
Do you ever edge to edge quilt with a magnetic monster hoop with your Pfaff?
Debra Skaggs yes
Looking into getting a monster hoop. Have you had issues with the hoop snapping off with the quilt sandwich in it?
I see there's a big gap on each side of the quilt. and most likely the bottom. What do you do with the gap empty area?
Everything gets quilted. If you do it right, there should be no gaps!
what I didn't see or hear explained ( and really important to us)....is, what we do when your pattern extends beyond our quilt top width... or your pattern extends beyond our quilt length...?
Hi Carla! This is a promo video about our book. There is a bunch of information in the book that I don't talk about on the video including the question that you have above. It is a very easy method though!

Bonjour Comment se procurer votre livret avec CD ??? en France merci
Hi Amelia, is this disk still available? If so could you possibly post a link, I couldn't find it. Also curious if there is a vp3 format
I bought mine on Amazon 😊
Nancy's Notions. You can get her book with disk one separately, then all her expansion packs (9) in one purchase. Unfortunately, it's not downloadable, you have to get the actual CD's.
Amelie - I don't have a dvd drive on my computer. Can I get the designs on a flash drive. Love your designs! Terry
@@AmelieScott Sorry, but when you print or sew those templates, A and B, at 100%, Plain design in small size, they do not line up no matter what I do.

hi amelia im new at quilting my question is how do you get the design in ur machine is their a format or usb i have to download
Hi Nan,
These are machine embroidery designs.
--Christine

Thanks!
I alternateA B A B A B . This reminds me of Music Theory 101. LOL
Amelie Scott Thx for responding. I have 3 of your discs & excited to give it a try!! :)
